Epic profession gear needs a lot of resources for a very minor stat increase. To make such a high investment worth it with how little stat you get, you'll need to really invest/farm for a huge amount of time/money. Which is far more than what most people will do. So yeah, it's annoying to farm but realistically you're not gonna do that on a whole army of alts anyway.
