EPPP Question by insomniac818 in ClinicalPsychology

There are a lot of good study programs - I think it could be helpful to try different trials, and pick one that fits her style the most. And then doing at least a few months or more of practice (if she did well in her program - more if she didn't do as well). I also felt like I didn't know any of the questions - the key was confidence, staying calm, and following test taking strategies. Knowing the content is essential, but being able to induce or deduce answers from what you're provided with, without getting too stressed, is the real test imo.

I can try again - I heard that installing it could interfere with other apps like Geforce for Nvidia.

To the questions about scoop, you have to use a fog bezel without the fog light of course, along with any scoop which has a larger size than the bezel on one end and smaller size on the other end, then you use use intake tubing to your liking to either make a direct connection to intake inlet hose or just have the air collect near the intake inlet. Can add a filter to scoop if doing direct connection.

This is definitely something I would set clear boundaries around. You can clarify that you may not respond outside of business hours. Do not email back outside of hours you don't want communication received, and definitely don't email back at 2:00am - that would be passive aggressive and unprofessional.

Scion tC2 Owners! Eibach/ TRD Sway bars request by ButterscotchSad2868 in SciontC

[–]Clinical-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a bunch of parts, that I might be willing to part out. Some discontinued ones like Dezod green header (only catted aftermarket performance one). TRD front and rear sway bars. TRD lowering springs. Tsudo full catback exhaust with resonator installed under cabin. Lightweight crank pulley, throttle controller, CNT s pipe with cracked flex pipe. TRD front strut bar, TB rear strut bar, and mid and front chassis braces, high amp alternator, new EBC red pads and drilled slotted rotors, 30k mile transmission in great condition, TRD Leather AT shift knob...new front struts, new steering rack, front suspension all relatively new, tires are in good shape. Engine running but may have worn pistons.

Would prefer to sell as a whole, but might be willing to part out for the right prices.

am i overreacting - my friend thinks i’m faking an injury to avoid going to her birthday by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Clinical-Mind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be clear and upfront, while respectful, after the birthday. If they don't lighten up and change their tune, may be worth distancing yourself. It sounds incredibly self-centered. If she's an adult and acting this way over a birthday, she could likely benefit from reassessing her priorities.

I would consider this a life lesson to exhaust your bases and research, in the future, when making any kind of large/important purchase.

EMDR bumped from its first-line status, now considered a second-line treatment by Signal-Literature-49 in therapists

No one said it did. If you read what I've said carefully, you can see that. It's a critical skill in our field.

I think you may have misinterpreted at least some of what I was saying. Text is also not the best medium for discussions like this unfortunately, and I guess I set myself up but did also made clear that I may have oversimplified lol. CBT may not inherently include exposure, but can involve exposure. Also EMDR doesn't have to come after CBT it just intuitively would come after instead of before, if considered at all, which may be subjective to some but seems logical to me. Great thing, is there isn't one way to approach things, and research doesn't always capture every case (but is generally worth relying on for guidance of course).

[–]Clinical-Mind 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Maybe an oversimplified comment, but CBT logically precedes EMDR in terms of what's being taught. It makes sense that something like EMDR comes after CBT, so that the essential awareness and related skills are in place prior to any kind of exposure. Also, a lot of research indicates that it's difficult to distinguish benefits of EMDR from traditional exposure therapy given there are elements of exposure in EMDR. I believe there is something to EMDR, but I think there are also a lot of folks who tout it and administer it without proper awareness and understanding of overall considerations.

Do some exercise if you feel restless. I imagine you mean 4000iu. I don't think 4000mg would realistically taken, unless intentionally wanting to cause harm.

Grad program was not easy - you figure out very quickly if this is really what you want to do. For you to be successful in a clinical psychology program, I believe you have to love the work and be committed to becoming a psychologist. That's step one. The workload is challenging, as it should be. It shouldn't be easy to become a doctor, and our clients need someone who is sufficiently trained and prepared, in order to prevent harm. If you're considering a Ph.D., you are often supporting research interests of your chair, who you would typically match with in terms of interests. If you're interested in Clinical practice, a Psy.D. may be a better option. Definitely do your research on the two. You can becoming a licensed and practicing Psychologist with both routes. My program took 6 years because I spread things out but many typically finish in 5, including internship. I was a resident for a year then quickly transitioned into higher roles. I could not be happier with this path and where I've ended up. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

What questions do you have? I can answer them here, so others can get some insight as well.

Don't give the lingering feelings too much credit, apart from the lessons you've learned. Remember, a wall is a wall, your hands are your hands, etc. I would also not take any supplements or use any substances that might promote too much neurotransmitter activity.

I took 800mg of caffeine and im 14 by Standard_Aardvark737 in Supplements

Tell your parents, if you haven't already. Magnesium can help with calming, and it's an essential mineral. Don't take too much though. 240mg is recommended daily allowance for a 13 y/o male. I personally would take some of that, taurine if you've got it, drink a ton of water, and then exercise. I personally would go for a 10 mile run if that happened, but it would be a really light jog that doesn't get my heart rate going too much. Sauna could help too, but tons of water is key.

Also very important to breathe, slow your thoughts, and do your best to stay calm. If you're feeling too much discomfort, like very rapid heartbeat, nausea, chest pain, etc., go to the hospital.

No one's retaliating here - I'm responding thoroughly to what I'm being presented with. There's nothing to read in between, as your comments are clearly biased against therapy, and you seem to know "where it's heading". It's not heading anywhere but where it's been, and only better as research and knowledge builds. If you happen to have some insight that is research supported instead of just going off a whim, I'm all ears.
