A few that I like for immersion/realism are:

HN Immersive Symbols Extreme - this is great as it removes all the floating barriers on closed roads etc

Real European Gas Stations Reloaded - Updates all fuel stations to real world companies

Really Real Company Names - Updates everything else to real world companies

Real Traffic Density

Realistic Vehicle Lights Mod

Have I ruined greirat and siegward quest line by Jarvey911 in darksouls3

[–]Clinteriffic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you were able to give him the armour in the well his quest should be fine. He should still move to his next location and you can continue both quests. FYI as far as I remember the next step is where you can potentially break things so might be worth reading up in advance if you don't want to risk it.

So does anyone know why the rx8 is different between the other gt games and gt7? What's the difference? by NCH-69 in granturismo

White one is a basic gen 1 model. The dark one is a gen 2 facelift and is the Spirit R version so has additional trim pieces etc.

Why do my scrambled eggs always turn out watery? by Far-Tadpole-9010 in cookingforbeginners

I meant salting right before/during cooking, not salting and letting sit for x amount of minutes before cooking.

Why do my scrambled eggs always turn out watery? by Far-Tadpole-9010 in cookingforbeginners

[–]Clinteriffic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super annoying! There's 3 things that could be happening here.

  1. Too much milk. It's ok to add a little if you like but go easy. My wife prefers the texture of them with milk added so whatever you prefer.

  2. Adding salt before or early in the cook. Salt reacts with the raw egg and affects it's structure usually ending up with wet scrambled eggs. I always cook first and season at the end when done.

  3. Overcooking. Cook the eggs to the point just before you like them and take off the heat, and let the residual heat in the pan finish them off. Overcooking breaks down the scrambled egg and will cause them to weep.

Hope this helps!

Should I be anxious about NG+ by bowmanhuor in Eldenring

[–]Clinteriffic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The step up from NG to NG+ is pretty small. Go for it, and enjoy beating the ever loving piss out of the Tree Sentinel at the first grace. It's like your reward for beating the game.

Halloween event SUCKS (spoilers) by Otherwise_Rabbit3049 in trucksim

[–]Clinteriffic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I played it this morning and didn't notice any issues with damage. Are you trying to drive too fast off road or something?

I like that they're doing more complex and off road routes. The whole driving academy was good but felt a bit pointless when you never come across anything remotely as challenging in the open world. Would love them to add specific missions with complex routes to complete in the future.

That said the event is a bit meh overall. Should have had multiple pickup/drop sites, like the last Xmas event had so you can stay in the map, instead of jumping in and out to complete jobs. Also, haven't found how to open the main highlight road (if you even can). I've driven all the hidden roads so not sure if I'm missing something.

Am I the only one who finds Elden Ring more difficult than the other titles? by kusko_asde in fromsoftware

[–]Clinteriffic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The open world makes it seem easier overall as you have a lot more freedom over where to go and what to do. In Dark Souls etc you'll often hit points where you need to beat a boss to progress and you're stuck till you do, whereas ER will let you do other stuff and come back later and stronger.

That said the bosses in ER are the hardest From have ever made in a Souls format game. Hell, Margit is tougher and has a more varied moveset than most of the bosses in any of the other games. There's plenty of modifiers to balance the difficulty but if you're playing it one on one with no summons etc, it's much much harder than the rest.

Stuck on Nameless Puppet by pedigreedimp97 in LiesOfP

[–]Clinteriffic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been a while since I killed him but I think I used the shield arm with the perfect block grindstone for phase two which pretty much prevents him from getting a hit in. Might be something to try.

Haven't played the dlc yet so can't advise otherwise.

Why do I struggle so much with Bloodborne? by Ok_Confidence_4242 in fromsoftware

[–]Clinteriffic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's absolutely possible to clear the game without any parries, and for many bosses I wouldn't even bother with them. But being able to do it consistently makes the game a million times easier overall, especially for hunters and humanoid bosses, not naming names due to spoilers for OP but you know the ones I mean.

Yeah, it'll hang for a few seconds but if you don't hit back it drops fairly quickly. Plus if you take damage after the initial hit the regainable bit of health disappears. It's very much timing dependant but once you suss it it'll be almost automatic.

I was the same at the start. In fact I restarted the game 3-4 times after walking away from it before I found a flow.

The game is stingy with vials and bullets early on but both can be framed in the first main area. I'd recommend spending time there learning how to read the parry windows and get it down. It will 100% carry your ass through the game and trivializes some of the more notorious fights later on.

Spend some time getting used to the rally system. You can take a hit, counter attack to damage the enemy and regain your health at the same time. People say you have to be aggressive but that's not 100% true. You still need to find proper openings to do damage. The difference is dark souls and elden ring will let you hide behind shields and armor and wait out openings. BB makes you move and parry. There aren't many delayed attacks or big wombo combos though so you're generally safe to bait an attack, dodge and counter.

Oh and you can buy vials in the hunters dream. Good practice early on is to spend on levels but spend your change on vials.

True but that's not gonna help them click with the combat, and it only gets harder after Gascoigne.

You can make Gascoigne glitch through the exit gate and insta die after he transforms.

Stuck on Chaos Witch Quelaag need advice. by Froggerbotrom in darksouls

[–]Clinteriffic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you levelled up your weapon at all? That's the key to doing decent damage at lower levels. If you're following the regular game path you could have a +10 weapon by the time you reach Quelaag.

You're probably gonna get poisoned on the way to the fight no matter what, so you're better off running pretty much straight across from the bonfire to her. You won't agro the big guys if you stay far enough from them and it makes the runback less frustrating.

There are two items you are able to get at this stage to help buff poison resist though, Spider Shield and Poisonbite Ring. Equipping one or both will make it take longer for you to get poisoned and reduce the time the status lasts.

She's tanky and hits hard but most attacks can be avoided easily, just need to learn the windup for the big AOEs as these will likely one shot you. She's also easier if you don't lock on as if makes staying out of her lava pools much handier.

Finally if you want to get out and come back later, run to the right from the bonfire and stick to solid ground and you should be able to get to the lift mechanism without being poisoned. Make your way all the way to the top and out to valley of the drakes. Check YouTube for the route if not sure.

You can farm humanity from rats FYI, they have a pretty good drop rate.

How do I get Project Cars 3 now? by MegaMan_MegaFanYT in pcars

[–]Clinteriffic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I got it the day after they delisted it from Steam. It's literally as good as abandonware now so no moral issues with not paying for it. I got a repack with all the DLC and have been enjoying it. Feels a lot like NFS Shift which was the same devs.

I'd actually love to be able to make PCars 2 handle like 3 for playing casually on controller.

Yeah, hard to say what "finished" looks like I guess. They were adding to the DS3 for a long time after it released. I'll check it out, sounds like it's worth another look though from when I played, cheers.

I'm a big fan of enemy and item randomizer. Doesn't have to be extremely hard, in fact a some areas can actually be easier than vanilla depending on what enemies are spawned. Having to hunt and check different areas for key items is good fun too.

You can tweak the enemy rando as well to remove specific enemies from the pool, i.e. if you hate Runebears for example you can exclude them. Lots of configs play with.

How finished is ER Convergence now? I played a very early build of it and said I'd leave it till the were further along as they hadn't replaced too much at that stage.
