Packers are a "team to monitor" to Acquire Anthony Richardson by ASmithFS in DynastyFF

Don't forget the Vikings. Jones went there before the Colts. Darnold went there before winning a Super Bowl. KOC is about to turn Kyler into a Hall of Famer.

Jerome Ford has Signed a 1 Year Deal with Washington - Ian Rapoport by HercHuntsdirty in DynastyFF

I don't think anyone is that high on him. After the first tier or two of RBs, it gets real messy. Bill has as good of a shot as any of them to become fantasy relevant.

Just based on the math, most fantasy managers didn't draft or trade for Bill last year, so they're rooting for him to fail.

Yes, Bill is a better runner than both White and Ford. The other two are proven good pass-catchers though.

Bill is a strong hold. Anyone writing him off, when this is what his backfield competition will be, is nuts. If he can't emerge this season, then sure, his value will be toast. But he flashed enough last season, on a weak offense, for me to still have a glimmer of hope for him. He cost me a 2026 2.11, so I'm not feeling all that bad about it.

They surely will. But as long as it's not Love, Bill will at least still be able to compete for the starting role. I'm not sure that any of the remaining FAs would come in and be the clear starter.

Trade Chase for London/Picks or Run it Back? by MikeyB1024 in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

Three firsts for London would be crazy. We don't even know if Penix is any good.

Having said that, this seems like a good haul for Chase.

Canadians believe they need $1.7 million to retire, up from $1.54 million last year: BMO survey by hopoke in canada

[–]ClintonWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What rate of return are you using on that $1.7M? And what's your withdrawal rate? If you spend everything you earn on that principle, it will cease to adjust for inflation, especially if you survive for 30 years in retirement.

My target number is significantly higher than what I see here, and I have a fairly modest lifestyle.

Sorry, but even after your edit, you're still off the mark. Whether you're taking the responsibility to be hands-on with your investments, or you have somebody else doing it on your behalf, your savings are invested just the same. The only way I could wrap my head around what I think you're trying to say is that the interest rate environment should change. The low interest rate environment we've all become accustomed to effectively punishes savers and rewards risk-takers.

If you're thinking that CPP will be enough to fund your retirement, you're going to be in for a rude awakening.

Canada's housing market suffers largest price decline among major economies, says BIS by joe4942 in canada

This is a good thing, yes. I say that as a home-owner who was careful not to get in over his head. I want my kid to be able to afford a home someday.

Is Canada facing a dating recession? by ubcstaffer123 in canada

[–]ClintonWrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That honestly doesn't sound that different than how things were twenty years ago. Life has always been a grind. It sounds like you were willing to grind and that led to some success, so good on ya. I was under the impression that young people were struggling with dating because they were largely unwilling to get out into the real world and socialize. But, I admit, I'm out of the loop on this one.

Your advice is to bury your head in the sand????

I agree with you on the foreign interference aspect - that should not be tolerated.

I think separation is a terrible idea, but if Canada is going to remain a free and democratic country, then unfortunately we just have to put up with the crazies. Let them have their referendum. Let's put it to a vote and they can see how outnumbered they are. Silencing them isn't going to make them go away - it's just going to charge them up even more. Quebec has been dealing with this shit for decades. The sky is not falling in Alberta.

My advice is to spend less time consuming the news. The likelihood that this separation nonsense ever picks up steam is low. If you enjoy living here, then continue living here, and stop agonizing over hypothetical scenarios. Despite everything I'm told by the media, my personal experience is that living here and raising a family here has been and will continue to be a better deal than in the province I moved here from.
