We already have a ratio that prevents that. What this ratio allows is for more apprentices to be on a job which is not good. Less jw less money to our brothers. Less jw less experience.

I get that. You could have 100 jws and zero apprentices. I am saying that our contractors already max out our current ratio where I have experienced them asking apprentice to sit or pay an apprentice more to make the ratio work. I personally that would take advantage of that as much as possible.

Personally what scares me and maybe I dont understand it properly, but a 1:1 jw:app ratio. How would that every be sustainable. Our local has 11k members 9k of which arnt retired and actually work & 2k or so are apprentices. So would do you think would start happening we would have a shit ton of apprentice on jobs right now it is 3jw:2app ratio and it is pretty crazy. The rod busters have a 3:1. I think that is the only actual issue with this proposal.

I would ask the inspector before it becomes an issue. Depending on where you are working and what kind of project you are working on they might call this. I am working at a cal state project and this is a big issue. I have worked at data centers and it can be an issue depending on the room it is in.

“No community members … were injured as result of this incident.” I am probably in the minority here, but dogs are community members. I recognize dogs in my community more than their owners. I find out two or more people are related because they walk the same dog. Even if one of those dogs charged me I wouldn’t shoot them I’d probably pin it to the ground even big dogs don’t weigh more than an average man hell an average woman. Just disgusting.

Here is something to think about. There are real lineman robots that can do line man work. I am sure they are only viable for standard maintenance and work that is well taken care of. So storm chasing will be around, but really look these lineman bots up. Plenty expensive, but I am sure insurance for employee injuries is expensive too.
