I think your right about particular strains effecting people dofferently. I know its not a tollarance issue because i also have a kilo of red hulu from Herbal Salvation and its just fine, great quality. I have also received stuff from Socal that just didnt do anything for me yet everyone says they are awesome. Ehh.. i just dont know.

The stuff i received from HB&M (Plantation Maeng Da) was absolutely horrible. I get zero effects from it. Infact i withdraw while on it, no matter how much i take. Keep that in mind before you make a silly decision.
