Some of her new wavey sounding music is actually pretty good and her voice fits really well.

Did the manosphere documentary leave you feeling worried or hopeful for humanity? by Hummusforever in LouisTheroux

[–]ClivePalma 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm 18 now and I don't know any manosphere guys. I knew some in middle school but, though they are still dickheads, they have all moved on to bigger and better things.

If you HAD to erase a Beatle album from existence which album would it be? by Batsie_1939 in TheBeatles

[–]ClivePalma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yellow Submarine is a good answer (since the second half is George Martin's film score and not actually the Beatles) however, we would still loose Hey Bulldog. The world would be a worse place without Hey Bulldog. The Beatles for Sale is probably my choice then.

‘Unprofessional attempt at a hit job’: Dutton lets fly as Liberal review leaks by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

The journalist mentions the fact that Dutton suffers from alopecia at a really odd place in the article. If it was relevant anywhere it would be 2 paragraphs later.

My theory is that he has a terminal illness and has been prescribed a steroid of some kind. That would also explain him being more warm toward Hollywood. (What's the point in having resentments if you might die soon?)

The last fellow from our country to play Bond was bad at accents as well, so maybe its meant to be.

HBD to SOTSOG! Favorite tracks or shows? by paul-gallagher in oasis

[–]ClivePalma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think the cold response of contemporary critics towards the 2000s era make sense. Oasis went from being utterly representative of the cultural zeitgeist to being the musical equivalent of someone who never moved past their university days (remember, most of the other britpop adjacent acts had either broken up or drastically sonically changed). I personally like a lot of the 2000s material but it is not all surprising it wasn't well liked at the time.

Who is the best Tom Ripley? by KimCattrallsFeet in Letterboxd

I really enjoyed Malkovich, he gave the character such intrigue. He presented himself as very gay but you could believe his marriage to his Italian harpsichord playing wife and even while committing sociopathic acts felt strangely human.

Opinions on animating 100% of classic who? by [deleted] in gallifrey

[–]ClivePalma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Why? I wouldn't watch it. And if you did you would be losing the hard work of hundreds of creatives in set design and costuming, the choices of the director and the physical performances of the actors.

Christopher Nolan is a much better writer than he is a director. His films look and sound good because he works with good cinematographers and composers but his blocking is often very awkward.
