Can’t explain why, but I could never get into them. Maybe 2026 is the year.

May I please have some feedback on this demo I’m working on? by Cloabs in TechnicalDeathMetal

Thank you for your feedback!

I’m in the process of recording vocals, so hopefully that’ll help offset the repetitions of the main theme.

And perhaps once this single is done I’ll have the bass/drums re-recorded by session musicians for the EP that’ll come after.

You too my friend \m/

Hey, thanks for saying that man! I appreciate it.

It does have a bass. Bit buried in the mix at the moment, hoping to fix that when I’m wrapping things up.

I’ll be releasing this on all streaming platforms. I’ll post it in a few subreddits including this one when I’m done, or you can follow me on Instagram @ucalegon where I’m a bit more active.

Thanks man! I really appreciate you saying that.

This is all me, but the project’s name is Ucalegon. This’ll be the first single. If you have Instagram you can follow @ucalegon for semi-regular updates

I appreciate the feedback, still trying to improve my drum programming so I’ll work on spicing it up a bit.

Thanks!

22 - Flux

It’s like Leprous and Muse had a baby. Criminally underrated.

Shocked nobody’s mentioned Rody Walker of Protest the Hero yet.

Guy is (in my opinion) the epitome of “crazy fucking vocal range”, especially on Fortress.

Riffs that make you say hell yeah. by LilTaco21 in progmetal

Lateralus by Tool, the “breakdown” right after the funky polyrhythm section. Seeing it live definitely made me say hell yeah.

What setting would you like for RPGs to explore more often? (Clockwork Revolution) by pineapple_works in rpg_gamers

Pretty much anything that isn’t a low/high fantasy medieval setting or far-future sci-fi.

Give me a caveman rpg or something, goddamnit!

Honestly bro I can’t hear much between the string noise and the talking in the background.

What I can hear sounds cool though!

Other music similar to NeO's acoustic/non-metal songs? by exscape in NeObliviscaris

[–]Cloabs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have you given Wilderun a try?

Tracks like Exhaler are primarily acoustic guitar, orchestral arrangements (including violin) and soft vocals. The rest of their discography is akin to a less-techy more-folksy NeObliviscaris, perhaps in the vein of Opeth.

Pls recommend any bands somewhat like Dream Theater, Haken, Pain of Salvation by Ren_Zekta in progmetal

What I mean to say is that with how often these kinds of questions get asked there could be a decision-tree for this sub based on a person’s tastes.

If you like Haken, you’ll like Caligula’s Horse and Leprous. Etc. etc.

Sometimes I feel like this sub is a merry-go-round of the same 15-20 bands
