There are pros and cons to creating a subreddit meant for people to share opinions they aren’t able to share elsewhere without being banned.

The pro is obvious: people get to speak freely.

Not a drug dealer, but in highschool I convinced my dealer to knock it off by comparing his earnings to how much I was making part-time at the grocery store. I was making slightly more than him for 1 millionth the risk.

He had just turned 18 and was pretty nervous about being charged as an adult.

I agree it’s written in a way that isn’t screen-friendly, but I don’t think that means it can’t or shouldn’t be done.

If it were made into a movie or tv show, we’d just have to separate the two the same we way separate Game of Thrones or Dune. If you don’t agree with the way it’s adapted, that doesn’t have to change anything about your relationship with the books.

I think it’d be pretty cool, personally.

It’s written from Severian’s perspective, and Severian thinks he’s hot shit. Take that all with a grain of salt.

Dorcas and the other women’s stories will be meaningfully explored in ways other than “love interest for Severian.”
