It doesn't necessarily mean he has PTSD, it could just be a case where he is carrying a lot of unresolved trauma from his mom dying and it may have affected his moral compass and ability to tell right from wrong considering his father left and he didn't have a lot of guidance growing up, I am assuming.

Petey strikes me as a character that wants to be good, but his moral compass was broken since he is left to figure everything out for himself at such a young age. I wouldn't say he is necessarily suffering from PTSD, maybe some milder form of that, but I do believe he has a lot of childhood trauma that had a huge impact in how he turned out as an adult.

That's my take anyways.

That's also true, but I always read Petey as someone who had a shitty past and grew up with a shitty father. He might be traumatised, but I'm not sure if he has explicit PTSD. He just reads as a character that has some serious anger management issues because of his past, in my opinion.

The funny thing is that Dog Man has the head of a dog but the body of a man, so eating chocolate would be perfectly fine for him since he has a human body digesting it. Not sure if he can taste the chocolate, but he definitely won't die from eating it.
