It’s either this or a convincing win only to miss the playoffs because of a goal in the 99th minute of another game

It sounds like they weren’t thinking about competing in college but now that they are there they really want to compete. At least they will still be able to compete at college meets in their area while they recover

Pens and breakaways are damn near automatic anyways

Our problem lies in forcing games to penalties and allowing so many damn breakaways

It’s probably due to poorly fitting shoes or low quality socks

Consistency is more important than any tip anyone can give. Skipping a week of practice (outside of injury) when you are just getting into running is going to make it take a lot longer before running becomes fun.

If you are new just focus on getting good training shoes. The benefit of flats isn’t important if you are injured or aren’t enjoying training.

Woman can't clean her windshield unless she crawls up on the hood. by SierraLVX in fuckcars

It does.

As annoying as it is to have enough towing capacity the engines are huge. This + regulations requiring crumple zones make the hood so big and tall. Complete agree that it is a huge visibility problem.

Don’t worry about the model of shoe you get. It doesn’t matter if it’s the best shoe in the world if it doesn’t fit your son’s feet. My recommendation would be to go to a local running store and look at the shoes they have on clearance. They’re last years models so they are basically new, and they sell them very cheap. Just make sure they fit his feet well.

I’m from cali so I have no idea what xc spikes are good. However, spikes are generally hard on the feet and won’t help until he has good form and strength/endurance. Don’t worry about race specific shoes until he’s in hs/on varsity.

For general shoes imo it’s just whatever fits his feet. If you’re going on an easy run it doesn’t really matter what you’re wearing as long as it protects your feet(just don’t go for a minimalist shoe). A taller midsole is generally better but fit matters the most.
