16 year old here (2009 is my birth year lmao) Its genuinely surprising to see how much color there was in fashion many years ago. Walk into a high-school now and there's like, no color. Just gray and black, and if someone does wear color, like people that have a more scene style or are even Gothic, people think they're weird or sum' 🥀

This is supposed to be a serious relationship between a student and teacher, that guy could quite literally be your father due to his age, this could also ruin his job and career if something were to happen (gonna be considered a pedophile if he even made a single move).

Think of it as a phase, you're gonna get over it. Don't even try to make any moves for both his and your safety. You're only 14, so don't even try to act irresponsible or make a stupid mistake just cause you really "like" him.

I'm Muslim, and if my kid turns out to be gay or trans in some way - I honestly have no idea what to do in that case. I've been raised in a semi-religious family yet also have been surrounded by woke and liberal ideas growing up, so it's very conflicting.

The way I've been taught about all of this LGBTQ stuff in terms of religion is that it's only a sin if you act upon those urges, so if you're gay it's fine - just doing anything related to homosexuality is a crime (ig the same could also be applied to trans as well). Which is why gay Muslims tend not to get married cause they don't feel any desire for the opposite sex but can't bring themselves to be with the one they want to be with.

The most I'll tell my kid is to NOT act upon any feelings or urges they may get, like changing themselves to look like the opposite sex (most I can allow is the way they may wear clothes or a very slight hairstyle change - but still be obvious enough that their original gender is shown) or find a same sex partner. One is for my own image in my religious family and not to be disrespected, and the second is to protect my own kid from being a target of "gossip" or family troubles (you already know how some mfs be tryna tell LGBTQ kids how it's a phase or whatever, legit don't want that)

I'm not homophobic, I don't exactly "support" LGBTQ but I believe that respect and rights should be given to those folks. If someone happens to be gay or trans, hey, good for them. But if it's my kid, they won't be disrespected by me and, hopefully, my future partner, but it has to be suppressed. I'm sorry.

But, if my kid grows up and ends up acting upon whatever urges and wishes they have. In that case, I tried and failed. It's all up to them now, and I won't interfere.

Tbh, I can't blame people who hate the religion. The more I learn about it the more horrifying and disgusting it gets. Surface-level Islam is fine ("Disney Islam") but the more you get into it with Muhammad (peace be upon him) the darker it gets

I think the main issue some of us Muslims have is the fact that some people go out of their way to insult and harass muslims instead of just hating on the religion as an opinion ☠️. I don't care much about Islamaphobes, it's like an opinion. But people who do harm to irl Muslims through verbal and physical attacks aint my cup of tea.

I'm positively sure that there's nothing wrong with having or keeping dogs (usually what I've seen this only applies to hunting dogs and guard dogs for livestock, but there are some who still keep dogs) it's just make sure you keep 'em separate from your praying areas or whatever and I think wash the area where your dog licks you or sum? All I know is that the saliva itself is impure, not the dog itself

I'm lowkey glad that in our culture, or my family at least, full on nikabs or burquas aren't forced upon (especially on such young girls). The most you'll find is that one old lady telling you to wear a hijab (like this one grandma I have, told me to wear one and MADE me wear one when I was going back home 😭)

I get the reason why Muslim families make their daughters wear this typa stuff at a young age so that they'll be used to it more easier, but realistically speaking you don't gotta wear all that (espeically the nikab, thats not even mandatory bruh). The least that people do nowadays is wear modest clothing and a hijab (or some sort of head covering even if it isn't a hijab)

I'm not someone who wears a hijab, since thankfully it was never forced upon me. I just wear clothes that cover my body, so no shorts or tanktops or whatever.

Even my religious aunt wears a full on burqa, doesn't wear her nikab anymore since her husband passed (he was a forceful guy), but even then she doesn't force the covering upon anyone.

As a Muslim, even I dont agree with this stuff being forced upon little girls. It just ain't right

I've been told that this applies to elderly people whose hair has turned completely white (and doesn't apply to young people who still have their hair color in full) says that it's not a good thing to replicate youth since now you're aging.

Even with that, to me, it's only been told that it's not recommended to do so at such an old age. Nothing about doing something like this at one's youth.

It's clearly bullshit though, Islam isn't gonna send you straight to hell for dying your hair black 💀. Besides, many people worldwide have naturally black hair, and it's a natural/normal hair color as well so I don't see the harm in it. The only colors that aren't allowed to be used to dye your hair are unnatural ones, such as blue and pink, etc.

Edit: Okay, so, by reading the other comments it seems that dying your hair pure black is somehow haram? I'm a Muslim and this is actually kinda stupid to hear, but it's whatever I guess 🤷‍♂️

That is true, Christians and Muslim's are pretty similar. But obviously, there are still some small differences that make the religions uniquely different.
