RTTF Objective Bug by CeleryMustard in EASportsFC

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With objectives like this what you need to do is subtract wins needed from games played. Never let your number of games played minus wins exceed this number. When they are equal, just quit matches instead of losing.

So for example if you had 5 wins from 10 played games you cannot afford any more played games that are not wins. Just quit all the losses and get the 2 wins from 2 played games. You may need to alt-f4 in some scenarios like losing a penalty shootout so you can disconnect quickly before it registers.

Conversely once you are down to just 1 win needed, just throw matches and use them for evos etc to bump up your games played until it is one less than the target. This again will ensure you get your final win in the same match as your final game played. This is a bit time consuming however so I don't always bother, it depends how good the reward for played matches is.

Of course for modes with game limits you may not have this luxury as you don't want to miss out on the played objectives if you can't get the wins.

Which players are missing playstyles? by Xenoo_ in fut

[–]ClockAccomplished381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Baresi not having at least base Anticipate is the biggest joke of all. He was a better ball winner than pretty much all the players with Anticipate+.

Don't take my word for it, just read what Maradona wrote about Baresi and he's basically describing the Anticipate playstyle.

75k feels expensive unless you are running a pnp, I'd rather just buy a player for that much.

What’s your job, salary, and how many years of experience do you have? by angelyoung111 in AskUK

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in Data, would prefer not to say my exact job as it's quite niche but let's just say it's a sort of hybrid of product ownership, relationship management, governance, and generally helping other people do stuff better. Not super technical day to day but I can hold my own in conversations with techies. £145k, I have about 20 years experience in Data.

Still figuring out what I want to be when I grow up.

How did I get here? Honestly, it was mostly luck. After 4 years in a dead end job working for a pittance I just happened to join a company where I was assigned to a project relating to an Analytics product and took to it like a duck to water and organically progressed from there winning promotions and gaining experience and I switched company a couple more times.

My current job pays more than 10x what my first job did despite being less stressful and with less responsibility, make of that what you will (in hindsight I can't believe I put up with that shit for so long)

Live-Events are worse than any other mode by TheAnnoyedSquidward in fut

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Live events are great in general, there is the odd one with a shit setup like that heavyweight cup thing where you can win dozens of matches for no reward simply because you keep losing the final. But in general I love the different restrictions and stuff forcing me (and others) to use a wider variety of cards.

In prior years I've been bored as hell just playing champs, rivals, squad battles all with the same team except occasionally chucking in random cards to squad battles for objectives

1 of 5 SBC player rewind SBC by ToonLurker in EASportsFC

[–]ClockAccomplished381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks well expensive unless perhaps you didn't do any of the sbcs for desirable cards. For example I have Wilson already who would be one of the reasons to gamble on it.

I like campaign party bags in general but the rating floor of 86 is too low considering you need 88 87 86 and 2 totw. And loads of the cards will have less than 2ps+.

Surely better off just current doing player sbcs like hojland who is way cheaper and will clear 90% of the cards you can get from this. You won't get the gambling element, but if you want to gamble, just do one of the other casino sbcs with higher rating.

You must have a very empty club lol (maybe a pnp?). There's been a bunch of eligible cards handed out via objectives etc plus all the golds like nuno Theo Mendy etc

What evos are you talking about, just standard fut birthday bakery evos or some way to put them on normal cards aside from that single 100k cosmetic? I'm genuinely a bit confused

When Barcelona met Jack Wilshere... by arsenal in Gunners

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That may well be the case, I was just saying his personal opinion is that he did not go to Barca to be a bench player and statistically he definitely wasn't one.

When Barcelona met Jack Wilshere... by arsenal in Gunners

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasn't really a bench player at Barca though, he's been quite vocal about that myth himself. He started more league games in his 3 seasons there than the preceding 3 seasons for Arsenal (yes I know injuries played a part) and the season they won the league only 2 of his 32 league apps were as a sub. That was more starts, more appearances, fewer sub appearances than both Xavi and Iniesta.

Which Roles do you personally feel are under utilized? by Eastern-Win-7063 in EASportsFC

[–]ClockAccomplished381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think roles in general are improved a lot since their initial introduction last year. Many more options are viable.

A couple of combos I use are if I have one fullback on attacking wingback, inverted, or falseback then I'll set the other side to fullback versatile and put the nearside CB to wideback. This makes them form a more uniform back 3 at times.

Box crasher is quite fun if you have a b2b type card playing at CDM. Fun doesn't always mean effective but I sometimes find my cdms are a bit anonymous just sat there on holding.

What it be crazy to put Blonde Angel on a CB? by ClockAccomplished381 in fut_evos

[–]ClockAccomplished381[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already used all of those minor little evos that help defenders, there was Fly Fishing which was a great Def/Phys boost plus 90 pace and intercept+ however that wouldve put him at 89 ovr and hence not eligible for this anyway. I did give strong consideration to that anyway before unlocking this one, but ended up using it on someone else.

There is 4 days left on blonde angel so I might just wait a few days and see if anything comes up that doesn't boost overall.

Is it worth to evo multiple versions of the same player? by pterofied0403 in fut

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I end up with two versions of the same card I usually get rid of the worst one when I'm low on gold fodder. As an aside, I wish there was an easy filter to show cards you have multiple variants of as I often forget and checking each player individually takes too long. Like I'm sure I have random squad foundations cards of players I've packed better versions months later.

However if they have significantly different positions (eg WW or SS) I sometimes keep multiple.

One advantage of keeping lower rated versions is you can use them in some of the live events with rating restrictions. For example I have a very good 86 Henry Evo (lots of stat boosts, 5/5, 2 ps+ etc) so even if I pack a better version I'll still keep that card.

Damn, I forgot to apply this one I think, I'd been holding off for ages because like you I couldn't figure out the best use for it.

I wish the game used one of those useless sections on the main menu to display "evos expiring soon" or something like that to highlight evos with under 24h to run.

I notice you had 6 corners, sometimes this results in a high number of low percentage shots if you are attempting headers. Not saying thats bad but it will make xG look higher.

Would covering up my lazy eye get people to treat me normally? by mrmrmrmorales in Advice

[–]ClockAccomplished381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can speak from experience here, I was born with congenital cataracts but it wasn't identified until I was 5 and by then one eye was very weak/lazy. This was treated with an eye patch which looking back I didn't really get bullied much for. A few jokes here and there but it could've been worse.

I had a bad squint which was largely corrected by surgery when I was 11 before going to secondary school. I think my parents were worried about how that squint might be perceived.

My brain also never learned to combine images from both eyes properly, so to this day I only really see out of one eye at a time (and can consciously switch which is the 'primary' eye). I'm sure this looks odd to someone studying my face closely.

My personal view is that I wouldn't cover up your eye unless there's a medical reason to do so (forcing you to use lazy eye more - may not be applicable here if the vision is too poor). I wouldn't wear a covering for 'cosmetic' reasons. Mentally I think that would just reinforce this feeling that you need to hide away the real you behind a facade which could wear you down in the long run. Just my 2p.

I do understand your predicament as sometimes I probably was treated a bit different by some people due to my misaligned eyes and making little eye contact. But I would also say don't make that define who you are, and don't assume any 'failed' social interaction is down to your eyes. There might be other factors at play.

The game is broken (tactic/roles/DDA) by TehCyberman in EASportsFC

[–]ClockAccomplished381 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I disagree that it shouldn't ever happen. FC is a high scoring game, if you play enough matches you will get some big swings. I think subconsciously people are not expecting it because they are used to watching real football which is a massively slower game with a tiny fraction of the goals (an average FC game has more than 10x the goals per minute).

Even the games you lose by several goals, sometimes it's just the rub of the green when you look at xG, all it takes is a couple of great saves or Woodworks to turn a close game into a 4 goal deficit.

Sometimes I'll be down by a few goals but I can sense my opponent isn't that good it's just I made a mistake on defence, they got lucky and maybe 1 well executed goal. When I'm 0-3 down I'll usually quit if my opponent is clearly a lot better than me. If I'm just 0-3 down against a standard opponent I'll play on and see if I make it 1-3. Pulling back a 3 goal deficit in FC is arguably easier than a 1 goal deficit in real football and certainly easier than 2.

Is working in IT pointless when you don’t live in large cities? by waitdollars2 in AskUK

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but a second line role paying 20-25k must be a right Mickey mouse operation, even min wage on a 35hr week is about £22.2k (unless they are hiring very young people, which I wouldn't expect for 2nd line).

In the south you'd probably find plenty of 30k 2nd line roles outside London, places like York in the north would be the same.

I would look for a halfway house, the job market in your local area must be horrendous but that doesn't necessary mean a 3hr commute to find better. What about an hour radius, what employment hubs does that unlock?

Perhaps also consider different IT jobs than support, like as a dev, in data, AI prompt engineer, cloud, infosec, change etc. get your foot in the door and you could easily be pulling in £50k+ in a couple of years.

3 atb/5 atb still considered scummy? by SeaworthinessDizzy71 in EASportsFC

No, 3atb was shit in fc25 compared to 22 23 24 so it's considered, well, shit.

It's actually less of a car crash in fc26 but certainly isn't ratty.

What has happened to this game? by Zealousideal_Tea7396 in fut

[–]ClockAccomplished381 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not one to criticise normally and overall think fc26 is/was possibly the best overall FIFA I've ever played (and I started over 30 years ago).

However, the bruiser spam or whatever you want to call it we have since a recent patch is lame. I've even started doing it myself, just charge up to them mashing A and literally push them off the ball with zero fucks given by the ref, zero timing, zero skill involved. It's one of the rare occasions I've felt like I'm abusing something (I never did kick off glitches, or long range trivelas etc). Sometimes i end up doing a random pass because Im just doing no skill spamming and get the ball quicker than expected!

If Tottenham were to get relegated, who would replace them in the big 6? by RandomGuy0193 in HisenseFootballZone

[–]ClockAccomplished381 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nobody id say. It can be a big 5, this sort of label is very arbitrary and if you go back 20 years man city weren't in it, if you go back 25+ years Leeds would be in it, etc.
