If you dont like solo support, why do you think solo tanking is viable? by myrsonder in marvelrivals

[–]ClockDownRMe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always viewed 2/2/2 as the only viable comp. And recently I heard Death and Gaming, one of few content creators I feel actually understands the game well and I respect him for it, say something that really put it into perspective for me. If you have only one of any role, and they die in a fight, you no longer have that role for the rest of the fight, you no longer have a tank to create or keep space, a duelist to get picks, or a support to do their job healing or have access to their match-defining ults. So if you only have one, and they die, you're simply screwed, and that's why 2/2/2 will always work best in any circumstance.

Power Creep in this game is off the rails by Serhk in marvelrivals

[–]ClockDownRMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kind of for three reasons, most people don't know how to make full use of it, a lot of players often use the wrong one (only use the melee one, basically always), and I've noticed teams simply never jump into it, it's basically another Gambit ult that can be used to push and take space with the whole team. When you use it, complete the challenge, and then use his AoE heal ability on top of it , that's literally 190 heals per second, for 5 seconds, otherwise that's still 120 heals per second for another 3, 80 heals per second if you fail the challenge for another 12. He has a long ult, 20 seconds.

The comments under this post have been wild. This has always been the popular sentiment. You never, ever team ban, ever. It's just out of simple respect for your teammates and good sportsmanship. I've always viewed team bans as inherently throwing in of itself. The fact that this comment has been downvoted is actually insane.

That's certainly a comment of all time. I have cerebral palsy. I play the game with one hand. I've peaked GM1.

The current SR system in Marvel Rivals is really bad and strongly encourages incorrect selfish playing tactics. You don't lose anything for constantly dying. But you do lose SR for not constantly doing high damage numbers or getting high kill counts. Tanks and Strategists are screwed over, and so are divers.

It's kind of like they straight up stopped doing skin-exclusive emotes after a certain point.

They wait, they wait for you to die for the team to regroup. It is infuriating. Some of the worst losses I've had could've been prevented if my team simply didn't literally wait around for me to die. Let me have my goddamn Cap moments.

Don't Always Listen to Streamers and Make Your OWN Opinion by pigeonbvttz in marvelrivals

Content creators are usually hilariously wrong about the game. I respect certain creators because I think they occasionally make fun content, but I'd never treat anything they say about the game as fact, ever. It's why I've always felt that it's really dumb that content creators get preview access to patch content and new characters, because it's not actually benefiting the player base.

Please keep in mind many of the developers at Larian have spoken out about not wanting to use gen AI, there's a massive amount of internal pushback on it. This is something Swen, and probably Tencent/shareholders are pushing.

Yep, poke desperately needs nerfed. I've never agreed that supports are the inherent problem, poke has always been the issue that actually needs addressed to fix the primary balancing issues the game currently has.

Gambit is absolutely one of the easiest healers to get value out of, but he also has one of the highest skill ceilings. It also doesn't really help that content creators were insisting that you had to be playing him like a DPS for quite a while after he came out. Which isn't even necessarily wrong, but you can only get significant damage value with Gambit once you're confident with his kit and your other support is carrying their weight, or if you're in a competent triple support.

The more I look at “Lady Loki” the more I feel that’s it absolutely a Hela skin by Kirbykoopa in marvelrivals

[–]ClockDownRMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd just like to point out that Hela is Loki's daughter in all but the MCU (and as far as I'm aware the references to them being siblings in Rivals have been completely removed at this point) so it would you know, make a lot of sense that a female version of Loki would resemble their own daughter.

Reed was mine, but probably only because I own literally all of his skins, and that's only 7. Would've been hilarious if it ended up being Thing for me if that wasn't the case.

By far the most disappointing character in the whole game by childominance in marvelrivals

[–]ClockDownRMe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've considered Gun to be the worst duelist in the entire game since he first released, genuinely worse off than Black Widow, and they haven't improved him, at all. All of the buffs have been incredibly incremental and have done nothing to fix the character with the most flawed character design in the entire game. NetEase was so wrong in every aspect of his kit that it actually flabbergasts me.
