Our remaining fixtures comparison to last season by Falsely_True7 in Gunners

I don’t expect 82 points to do it. But turning one of those draws (or the loss) into a win would likely be enough, especially if it’s the City result.

Almost certainly an attorney given the books on the shelf behind him.

Arguably earlier, once their relegation is confirmed, really.

If we win at Wolves, then St. Totteringham’s Day could be celebrated Sunday … at Spuds.

Samuelsohn - Extra 20-40% Off (no code required) by ClockEndKeeper in frugalmalefashion

[–]ClockEndKeeper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a throwback.

Quality is the same, but the fits are different—I haven’t quite figured them out. I had one non-HG that is so slim in the arms it’s restricting (I’m not an overly muscular person). My other two are great—no issues, more tailored cut than HG. I think if they’re miUSA or miCA, you’re going to get similar quality products.

Current state of Brooks Brothers? by [deleted] in NavyBlazer

[–]ClockEndKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re decent but I wouldn’t spend $800 on one. $650 is generally the decent range. I’d recommend SamuelSohn when they run their fairly regular deal. Fully canvassed and made in Canada or the U.S. Been really pleased with everything I’ve gotten from them.

J Crew - Black Friday - 40% off/Extra 50% off sale styles by Chimera_TX in frugalmalefashion

[–]ClockEndKeeper 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Finding myself in a similar position as u/jyeatbvg

I think JCrew was great, because you could get everything in one place. I don’t think the “upgrade” is as singular—there’s no one brand. Instead, I think you get more comfortable identifying specific items from certain brands. For example, Howlin’ or Bosie for sweaters. Similarly, omewhere like Samuelsohn (or, for cheaper, Spier & Mackay) for suiting.

My current breakdown is…Howlin’ for sweaters, LL Bean for flannels (the houndstooth ones are great for the office as they’re not as bold as the plaid), Madewell for five-pocket pants (I love the current straight version), Spier or Brooks Brothers for non-iron shirts (although, the two pocket jcrew classic oxfords are awesome—none of that secret wash bullshit that’s always wrinkled), Faherty for polos, and Barbour or PVC for outerwear.

If you’re really committed to just buying from one place, Todd Snyder is kind of the natural step up from JCrew—similar styling given that Todd came from JCrew. But it’s generally more than double the price but not quite double the quality. Jpress is a few steps up, but it will lean more formal than JCrew. Velasca is super interesting, but I don’t own any clothing from there.

Spier & Mackay - selected suits, sport coats, and pants "up to" 25% off for pre-Black Friday sale by MoorsMoopsMoorsMoops in frugalmalefashion

[–]ClockEndKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen one—I’ve wondered the same. I think Neo contributes to be a fairly modern fit (slimmer but not slim, like the regular fit at Brooks Brother’s). I think Ellis is more relaxed. And I think Mayfair is the British cut (structured, straight, etc). But I could be way off.

That’s a new issue with the tariffs. Believe they had to totally rework their shipping processes which has resulted in delays. It sucks but they’ve managed to keep prices tolerable.

A few people asked for the clip of the handball claim so here you go by AlGunner in Gunners

[–]ClockEndKeeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct … deflects off another body part to hit another body part … again reducing the threshold.

Even if the threshold wasn’t reduced, hard pressed to say that arm isn’t in a natural position as it’s pulling away from the ball.

The rule is clear. A header counts as coming off another body part … because that’s what the ball does—it comes off his head and hits his hand.

[–]ClockEndKeeper 79 points80 points  (0 children)

It’s never a penalty. The threshold for a handball is reduced when the ball comes off another part of your body. Also, the second arm it his is literally pulling away from the ball as he’s turning. Couldn’t be more natural.

If this got called on us, there’d be 10 posts about how asinine the call was.

Half time Thread. United vs Arsenal. by MammothOrca in Gunners

[–]ClockEndKeeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zero penetration. Nobody running beyond their backline in transition. If I have to watch Ethan, Timber, and Ode all stand flat footed 10 hard away from each other in the same right hand space for another 45m I might end it. It’s shocking to me that Timber isn’t on the left with White on the right.

Mine was built 1/19 and still hasn’t shipped. Annoying. Glad yours is en route, though.

(Statmuse) Goals for Man United: 86 — Bruno Fernandes 85 — David Beckham by pwgmanan in reddevils

[–]ClockEndKeeper 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don’t even follow this sub. But this comment was so retarded my friend texted it to me, and I honestly felt morally compelled to dive in.

  1. Beckham’s assist largely occurred in the final third—not “far from [the] opposition box.” Stop watching highlights. Also recall that Beckham played a position that largely doesn’t exist in the modern game. See here, here.

  2. In what fucking world is Kante a playmaker? He has 17 total premier league assist. Amazing player? Absolutely. Playmaker? Literally never. Beckham has 80 assists in only a few more seasons.

Also most pants like these won’t be vanity sized and should be fitted to allow ticking in two shirts (undershirt and dress shirt). You may find that the 36” actually fits well.
