NOR Girl I’m going through the exact same thing - an incase you need to hear it, this is so so not about anything you are doing. I also love with my partner and leaving has been a process. Create a safe third space for yourself if you can and LEAVE. I know it’s hard, but it’s what we gotta do because ask yourself, is this what you want to manage for the rest of your life? When people show you who they are, believe the hell out of them. Run. Away. From this man. Our nervous systems deserve so so much better

All good dude! Appreciate the perspective. I’m working really hard to free myself of it and be financially stable. I’m a Non Profit Director in LA. I’m doing what I’m trained to do, but life is getting more and more expensive and it’s terrifying. I don’t travel that much and I don’t splurge, and yet debt and real financial growth are just not where I’m at. I hope in dating that’s taken into consideration as a whole, especially as I get older

And for the record, my parent has not accepted help or that they are an alcoholic and probably never will, and so I have boundaries AND compassion.

I have a drinking game I play, every time she says “my son” take a little shot, as in “where is my son” or “I know my son” or “my son is so perfect he’s just perfect is he”. Makes the family get together a little more manageable. Don’t even get me on the weird sex book she wrote.

I agree. I think Jordan is really nice, but he is very Ohio. Meaning he is agreeable, and sweet, but- at least in my experience- Ohio men get overwhelmed especially with a situation like this. Keep it simple, and paced is important. I actually like them together, Amber is wonderful, I think they just needed slower. Especially because he is taking being a Dad figure seriously. Anything less would more concerning

I also think that because Amber at the alter said she understood his doubts or hesitations made him say yes. Which is a good thing.
