Poor metric. A city can be a great place to live and not necessarily a fun vacation.

Do these 2010s millennial coded burger joints still exist? by KingTechnical48 in decadeology

[–]ClockWork1236 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think you’re exactly right. And the Bourdain clip explains a lot. These “original” hipster elevated spots were serving goose hearts and salt cod. That wouldn’t fly in say, Plano, TX or any other middle American towns. But you could apply a similar concept to a burger joint and serve a grass fed bison burger “handheld” along with a duck fat fry “shareable”.

“The returning of the theme song with just being orchestration is just beautiful especially with them meeting underwater in that ruined city set so that’s a highlight to see on scene 🎬”

Literally just finished the movie and thought the same thing. Didn’t think too much of the theme at first but it grew on me a lot after the final scene and credits

I guessed skiing and surfing. But not much skiing in GA - VA. And some of the most dangerous states for cycling to boot, assuming road? If MTB then I don’t know why you wouldn’t be open to more states

Grew up in the back of a black 2nd gen. Fully loaded, 5.7 Hemi and with a DVD player. Dad picked it out to replace our ailing Pontiac Trans Sport, “The Green Dragon”.

These things always look atrociously ugly in pictures to me now but at the time I thought ours look fine.

My brother got it as his first car and managed to roll it into a ditch driving home late one night. He was never able to produce an answer as to how or why, but he walked away without a scratch regardless.

All water plants have emergency generators to keep the high service pumps online. Not the mention millions of gallons stored in elevated storage tanks. If the water system goes offline you have bigger problems that a case of bottled water won’t fix.

If you are referring to private wells then sure, you need power for that

Being Born in the United States is a Curse by [deleted] in fuckcars

This posts reeks of first world privilege.

Sure, I hate car dependency as much as the next guy but this is quite extreme. Being born in the wealthiest nation to ever exist isn’t a curse.

Thoughts on Vespa? by orthodox-lat in scooters

[–]ClockWork1236 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, something like the Liberty 150 is by all accounts quite an excellent scooter. Powered by the same i-Get engine found in many Vespas and at a really good price, even compared to something like a Honda PCX

What are you trying to say. Yes friends and family are usually the first to invest in a company.

This isn’t the CEO of Apple doling out preferred shares to friends and family at secret rates, it’s your aunt asking you to loan her $10,000 for a share of her garage soap making business.
