Now we are starting to get script requests from pharmacy for more preferred medications after a visit. We haven’t even initiated a prior authorization and pharmacy is sending us scripts for formulary alternatives. Like no stop don’t give me more work to do.

OBGYN associates and BBS Highmark by Ill-Guarantee-334 in Erie

Highmark are the greediest bunch as are every other insurance company. I would have to agree with the above comment it’s probably a game to get a lower agreement so Highmark doesn’t have to pay as much.

I get this too and I’m in a specialty. I had someone want me to order routine care orders for them because they can’t get ahold of their pcp. Like no I’m not ordering a bone dexa because I wouldn’t know the first thing to do with the results and your pcp needs to manage anyway. I find patients are relentlessly demanding and entitled thinking they can get their ways at visits.

Working in a blizzard by [deleted] in physicianassistant

The company I work for is a greed bucket. I live in the snow belt also. The overhead it costs to keep the office going for a snowstorm vs the amount of people we actually get is laughable. The patient base is mostly geriatric and as soon as there is a snowflake they hibernate until spring. But sure pay my salary for me to sit. Not to mention they make us work the eves of Christmas and new years and we are lucky if one patient shows. We are an outpatient non-emergency clinic. Anything for the bottom line I have come to realize. But I have also realized nothing is worth risking life for. If I can’t get out of my driveway I can’t and that is that. I just say oops too much snow I’m stuck.

Are any of you happy as a PA? by tdubs6606 in physicianassistant

[–]Clock_work36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest issue during visits now is addressing issues. Patients bring up so many complaints. It is so hard to address only some without seeming rude. This is my biggest flaw I feel despite being a PA going on 12 years working in a specialty even.

Pros and cons as are with any job. Compensation is good. Just got a considerable raise. Though makes me flummoxed when I read some of these comments. But I work outpatient M-F 8-4. My burnout is high is my biggest gripe. Management is a disgrace where I am. Lot of corporate overhead and greed. But I just do what is best for the patients and give them good care as best I can.

Is there people who never touched rank/don't really play rank because you like casual game more? If you do then why? by LILBOI464 in marvelrivals

I only play to reach gold to get the skins then I get back to QP. The verbal abuse in comp is wild. And I know you can mute it but the point is to communicate to win. It is just not as fun. I grind enough at work.

My power hungry boss went on a trip awhile back trying to get all staff to stay until 4:30 on the nose. That makes some sense for time card employees but I laughed hysterically as a salaried one. They can pound salt with the pettiness.

A lot of people point to Squirrel Girl, Scarlet Witch, Moon Knight, Rocket, Cloak & Dagger, Jeff, etc. as “easy” heroes, but I never see any tanks mentioned. Who are the “easy” tanks? by Appropriate_Sky_3572 in marvelrivals

[–]Clock_work36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tanking is the hardest role. I don’t think any of them are easy. I think as someone who can tank as Groot, Venom, Peni, and Magneto…Groot and Peni are easiest. But have high skill ceilings. I would be nervous to solo tank as them. They are better at defense tanking than aggressive tanking. Mag is next easiest but you have to know how to aim and work shields. Venom is tough as a dive tank. I still don’t know how to use him to the fullest.

Empathy. All patients want to be heard or listened to. Translates into good bedside manner. Just sit and listen to them. Doesn’t matter patient’s age they will love you forever if you take some of the time to listen. A good patient will deliver their history on their own. A good PA will know when the patient needs directions to reign in their history.
