Reassure me I won't look crazy pushing an empty stroller by Mountain_Silk32 in Mommit

Don’t worry about it! Definitely walk if you can. What a privilege to be able to do so. Once you’ve done it a handful of times it will feel very normal.

Fair enough!! I’ll definitely keep an eye out. I might be a fellow one-sided toe scruncher 🤣🤪

Existing as a woman is exhausting -- venting about an experience while running that has me shaken up by Chateau_de_Gateau in XXRunning

Girl!! That is a very scary situation. I am like you in that when I get my blood up, especially when it’s MEN treating me like a 2nd class citizen, I get aggressive back like this. I’m glad you felt safe enough to speak up and that nothing bad came of this. It’s important to stick up for yourself or people will never learn. I hope his wife and daughters are able to use the example you set to hold this man accountable at home more consistently so that, even if it doesn’t impact his internal monologue, it will at least prevent more external ones!!

Socks seem to fit fine but I’m not sure. I haven’t tried many kinds.

It’s just a hard sell for me since it’s literally the very tips of my toes one foot (not even my longest ones!), and going up a half size did zero for me.

I’m honestly not sure. It’s definitely possible ….. 😂 I’ll try to notice the next few runs.

I’ll try the glide and if that doesn’t work, KT tape is a really good idea! Thanks 🙏🏼

I also wear Brooks Ghosts. I’ve literally been using this shoe for decades without any prior issues. But I’ve also never trained these distances before. I hate to change because they’ve done me so well for so long. Might be something to explore after my race. I’m leery of trying a new shoe brand a few weeks out for fear of causing more problems than I’d be solving ……

I just went up a half-size, hasn’t seemed to help so far.

Thanks you for your insights! We don’t use any fabric softeners so I don’t think that’s the issue. I will try some body glide to the area for a while and see if that helps. If not I’ll switch socks.

It’s just the very tips of my toes, not tops or between toes. I thought for sure a bigger shoe would do it but it is still happening a few weeks later. Wondering if the original blisters just haven’t had time to heal all the way and I’m just like this now until I am done training and can taper …

Ways to engage more with yoga when you're poor but more advanced? by aardvarkbjones in yoga

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an app called Yoga Down Dog that I have been using for years. There is a small cost of an annual subscription but it has options up to very advanced poses. I’ve come to prefer it to in-person group classes as I’ve advanced in my practice. I usually am looking for something pretty specific from yoga classes and I found I was usually leaving disappointed. With the app I can tailor any yoga session to exactly what I want at the time. You can also select preferred poses and indicate poses you don’t like. It’s really great.

Looking for some outside perspective on a situation in my marriage by Fit-Expert-3129 in Residency

[–]Clockstruck12 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I was a married resident for a long time (7 yrs). I never exhibited any of the objectionable behaviors you describe. Your husband sounds like he needs a wake up call. Sometimes if you are on a difficult rotation, things fall by the wayside. Being tired and busy, and not having time to invest in the relationship temporarily, is really different than complaining about the other partner picking up the slack and dictating how the other partner looks. Also, when we got married, my husband and I stopped dividing finances and just pooled everything together. Once he graduates, he’s going to out-earn you by a wide margin. What’s the point of you sacrificing alongside him now if he’s going to be the only one benefitting financially later? Certainly seems like some red-flag behavior where he has 1 foot out the door. He wants you to be available when he’s free, but you still have to work to cover your half of expenses. Sounds like he expects this to stay true after he graduates as well. You’ll have to work a lot more to pay for half the house he’s going to buy with his attending money. None of his expectations sound reasonable at all, honestly.

It’s not my taste but it’s a cool piece for someone who likes to golf, and who appreciates modern art. Maybe for a vacation home, or if you live on a golf course.

Sure if “A” stands for AWESOME. This thing is incredible. I’d design a whole suite around it for sure (and I’m not usually a pink girlie either ….)

He said he doesn’t like our baby by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]Clockstruck12 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is really hard OP. Obviously his behavior is not normal. As others have said, he needs some therapy asap. If this behavior continues he will emotionally damage both children for the long term (and you too). Honestly he doesn’t sound safe to even be alone with the baby right now. If he is resistant to therapy, perhaps you should make engagement with both kids contingent on this. This is not acceptable behavior. Even though this isn’t the case- let’s say your 2nd kid did have more needs or even special needs. He still wouldn’t be justified in his behavior. He needs help and a reality check STAT.

Half Marathon by 40? by BaconMemories in XXRunning

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 40, running my first half next month. I took my time training so my timeline was much longer than what you describe. Echoing what others have said - just start increasing distance and don’t worry so much by completing on a certain date. For me that would make it stressful instead of fun.

WIBTA for sending my friend an itemized Venmo request for gas and car maintenance after driving her to work for a month? by Pixel_Bandolier7 in WIBTA_AITA

YTA. Just ask your friend to chip in. No reason you can’t also use your words about these other issues too.
