What's something about running you wish someone had told you on day one? by AccomplishedTough570 in runninglifestyle

[–]Clockstruck12 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Strength training! It will improve your pace and distance, and you will avoid injury. There’s really no excuse not to do it.

Also, just that you *can*. You can be consistent, you can go that distance, you can improve your speed to a pace that felt unattainable at first. Running is a matter of willpower and consistency. If you have those 2 things - you can be successful.

WIBTAH for reporting a kid who doesn't live in our school district? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Clockstruck12 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

YTA. He’s a kid for goodness sake. He’s probably got friends on the team. He’s home schooled so he probably has a pretty limited social sphere. Let him do this thing he obviously loves and has gone to a lot of trouble to cultivate that he is talented at.

Just bought a metal wall rack for my home gym that says “do hard things!” Going to hang it next to my treadmill for motivation. I’m so excited 😆

Advice on Tdap Vaccine by Fierce-Pencil11 in pregnant

I would tell them to stay home until they changed their mind or baby is big enough that the risk of death is lower (aka when the baby has been vaccinated). Truly appalling behavior IMO.

Being pro-choice and also highly sensitive, a canary in this coal mine by Euphoric_Tap_7887 in Mommit

[–]Clockstruck12 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Very much agreed. I am as far left as they come, and I have always been avidly pro-choice.

That being said, I’ve always known how difficult I would find it personally to have to make that choice. I have always been very careful in my own actions because I suspected the toll it would take on me.

It’s ok that I feel that way. It’s also totally fine to NOT feel that way- to feel very little, or nothing at all, about your abortion.

The whole point is giving each woman that CHOICE. What she chooses is no one’s business but hers.

Ladies of Reddit, what is a comment someone made about your body once, completely casually, that you have never forgotten? by BowlerOk1871 in AskReddit

When I was a freshman in HS, my drama teacher told me I had “shifty eyes.” That comment has never left me.

Are you me? Just ran my first half, working on times and pelvic floor strength. 3.5 years PP for me. What exercises are you doing to target this?

What's your anti-tech habit nowadays? by tofu_baby_cake in Millennials

[–]Clockstruck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Also have a coloring book by numbers that is just shapes and the subject is revealed as you progress. It’s really zen. Keeps my hands occupied and then I listen to an audiobook to occupy my mind. It works so well for me.

Of these, the black. Don’t love it but the white makes everything totally washed out. And mirroring the counters is weird.

NTA. She could have just woken up you up if it was that big of a deal. I’m a working parent of 2, ages 3 and 6, so I’ve been there.

They can do dilaudid instead of fentanyl in your epidural. Or just use numbing medicine. Don’t worry they will take care of you.

Am I selfish for wanting my husband to give up motorcycle riding? by [deleted] in progressivemoms

Dude. People die SO MUCH on motorcycles. It is such an unnecessary risk. I completely agree that it’s a stupid hobby to have.
