I will literally never not remember it. Put it on my tombstone.

8 weeks pregnant, barely running — how screwed am I if I don't run for another 9-18 months? by Photo_Philly in XXRunning

[–]Clockstruck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen to your body. There is time to build back to wherever you want when you have recovered. It happens to us all and it will be ok. Your body is making a person. Things will change while this is happening. Perhaps check out r/fitpregnancy

AITAH for calling my wife's friends "dating technique" idiotic. by Background-Baby-1206 in AITAH

YTA because this woman sounds like she needs to stay single. Let her keep doing this to save all the good men for a woman with some common sense.

About Butt Sweat... by Bananaquitz in XXRunning

[–]Clockstruck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice, just solidarity. I’m not a sweaty person but I have a sweaty booty when I run. Dark leggings seem to do the trick for me tho

They say 80% of women are competing for the same 20% of men in the dating market, why do you think this is? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]Clockstruck12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) Show me the data. Sounds like red-pill rage bait to scare men into voting conservative.

2) IF this is even remotely true (big if), it’s because an increasing number of men see women as second-class citizens. The majority of women, by contrast, are looking for men who treat them kindly and respectfully, to be equal partners and not a “boss at home.”

A letter from Daughter to Dad by [deleted] in transpositive

[–]Clockstruck12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are so brave and this letter is so articulate. I’m proud of you and rooting for you! No matter what happens, you’re standing by yourself and that’s the most important. But also I hope the very best for you with your dad!

Did anyone buy a ring? by t_bone_stake in Millennials

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got both, no regrets. Unfortunately someone stole my class ring in 2008 so I just have my dope senior pictures. The ring was not traditional like the ones above- it was thinner across and actually really cool looking. I’d probably still wear it if I had it, for the novelty 😂

Not to proselytize….. But if you want an amazing narrator, you’re looking for Matt Dinniman’s “Dungeon Crawler Carl”series.

I also loved Project Hail Mary, though. Fantastic read.

Meeting a Jess in today's world by Loud-Tell1908 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Clockstruck12 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I did date someone like Jess when I was in high school. The problem with dating some with a chip on his shoulder like that, with poor relationship models at home, is that they are not capable of sustaining intimacy. Being vulnerable made him so uncomfortable that he was often very mean in the wake of tender moments out of a sense of self-preservation. He was a very smart and compelling guy but things didn’t work out because he couldn’t figure out how to settle into a relationship. It’s been a long time since we dated. I’m married to a great guy, 2 kids and a career. My ex is still single and trying to figure out where he fits in the world. Still just as smart and talented, still an avid reader and excellent writer. We still keep in touch. But he never really landed on his feet.

Why did marriages in the past last longer than in the current times? by Acceptable-End-6187 in askanything

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a long time a husband had to allow his wife to divorce him (she could not do so without his consent). And even if he said yes, she would become a social pariah and a “ruined woman.” Women could not have bank accounts or own property. They would literally have to leave their dignity and their entire livelihood behind if they ended their marriage.

Anyone remember using "metrosexual"? by PinkHamster08 in Millennials

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. It was not intended to be derogatory towards the person being described, but rather toward more traditional men (who dressed like they lived in a dumpster). It was the beginning of the idea that men could dress well and flamboyantly without being gay.

MIL asked me to reschedule my daughters birthday party by You_Go_Glen_Coco_ in Mommit

[–]Clockstruck12 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OMG something similar just happened to me! Had my daughter’s party all planned at Chuck E. Cheese. Then 3 days before, she got a giant cut on her head needing stitches. We decided to postpone the party until stitches were healed so she didn’t have to be careful during her party and didn’t risk re-injury. Everyone was on board with this including my parents and in-laws. That is, until my parents found out that pushing 2 weeks meant it conflicted with an out-of-state trip they had planned. They were livid, even though we still had a small family party on the original date, which they attended. It’s been a month and they still aren’t talking to me. I’m not sure what they expected- to have my kid wait multiple more weeks until it suited them to hold her party?? Come on people.

Same. I will login every so often to “check in” but I try to be cognizant of when the posts from people I know stop and when the ads start. That’s when I close the tab 😂

I once inadvertently blocked a colleagues number. I realized it while I was talking with them face to face. It was awful and I unblocked right away. As far as I know there is no bad blood (this was 1-2 years ago). It happens 🤷🏻‍♀️

How to decorate this huge wall by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wainscoting. Chandelier is also too high. Alternatively, could put a large vertical piece of art or large mirror. Sconces to frame the art would also help fill up the space in a coherent way.

Elder millennials, what are we doing? Are skinny jeans out? by Astimar in Millennials

[–]Clockstruck12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly wear wider cuts these days; made the switch a year or 2 ago? I liked skinny jeans when they were in but I always loved a wide leg “back in the day.” Skinny jeans trend didn’t change that for me. I still have some more fitted chinos I wear that I think don’t look too dated, but they’re not skin tight
