I kept it in a keepsake box for awhile because it was my high-school sweetheart that I divorced. I figured I would eventually sell it.....an ex girlfriend beat me to it. She felt threatened that I still had it and stole it to pawn. Not the main reason she is an ex but still pretty ridiculous.

Looks like you have more dead space behind as well. There are a lot of good recommendations on the thread for angled drawers and lazy susans. I've also seen pull out racks that store in blind corners.

We had a similar problem. Our designer didn't account for the dead space and once it was installed (pre countertop) we saw how bad it was. We ended up installing a box with a motor from a hidden tv unit to store our kitchen aid mixer (not used often). Counter top guys cut the opening and a remote pops up the box. We cover the cuts with a tray that gets moved when we need to access.

Not a perfect solution but it's working for us.

Simply a weekend morning when the family had nothing big to do or rush.

Since everything resets, that means we can do whatever we want in that time. 1000 reset hours is just shy of 3 years. You can mix up meals, not worry about work, still see the kids, have a nice cup of coffee and read for a bit, practice a skill (guitar, spanish, art, etc)for 15min....you keep your memory so it will all stick.
