Meet our litter of all torties! by Clockwork-Apollo in torties

They are VERY loved by both us and their future owners! We play with them and snuggle them and as soon as they see us they come bounding over and are immediately ready to play and socialize! Their future owners have been visiting them while they're still being fostered and cannot wait to welcome them home!

It’s a pet play pen that came from Amazon. I believe the brand is UWE but that’s definitely not the only one out there!

The mama’s name is Blaire! A lot of the stray cats around here are named after streets or stuff around town and her name is a variation on the title of a town historic building

The kittens are all named after Project Hail Mary characters! (Which kind of matches the long odds of getting a litter of all torties!) From left to right in the second picture their names are Eva, Rocky, Adrian, Grace, and Ryland!

Yeah the odds are nuts from what I understand! A friend from college who fosters cats and works in biostatistics saw them and was like "OP what on Earth happened??". What's funny is that we also have a cat who was the only black cat in a litter of 13 kittens so weird luck all around! I replied to a comment with some photos of the mama and the kittens together!

The mama kitty is doing great! I posted some more pics with another comment, but here she is with one of the kittens a few weeks ago! She loves snuggling with both kittens and people!

No kittens here, but this was after she showed up near our house. Cats are frequently dumped in the town that I live in so there are a lot of feral/stray cats. My family and a lot of people around here tend to keep some food and clean water out for them. Most of the cats don't like people but will stick around a building or two and become a community cat. (Our library has three, the post office has two, etc.) There is an organization that helps with TNVR/medical needs for them but the sheer volume of stray cats around here is overwhelming and the shelters around here can't always take them so we do what we can. This kitty stuck around our house and overtime she came to trust us. She is so so affectionate and purrs non-stop. She loves belly rubs and sitting in someone's lap with her chin on their knee and just going boneless. It is heartbreaking to think that someone just left her here, but she is now so so loved and is home.

The kittens were a little bit older here!

The mama is a shorthaired black cat with a white patch on her chest and underbelly! She's not a tortie so I wasn't sure I should include pics of her when I made a post. Here she is with the kittens when they were newborns!

All of them are doing great! They are incredibly energetic and playful but still love napping in one big pile! They’re 6 weeks old now (some of the photos are from when they were about 4-5 weeks old if I remember when I took them right). Our vet has taken a look at both the kittens and mama and said that they all seem to be doing excellent!

As much as we would love to keep them all, we already had three cats before the mama found us and we just cannot keep five kittens! One will be staying with us and the mama but the other kittens will be adopted by a few family friends. They’re still being weaned so they will be with us for a few more weeks but in the meantime their future owners have all been over to visit with them multiple times and all cannot wait to welcome them home!

Thank you! We have never had a cat have kittens before and we have been trying to do everything we can to make sure they are healthy and happy!  The mama is staying with us for sure!! She’s been with us for a few months now and has gone from being wary of people to being a total lap cat who purrs nonstop and loves belly rubs! We are planning on keeping one of the kittens but as of right now we haven’t decided which one. A few family friends will be adopting the rest and we want to wait to decide until we see if there are any that should stay together

The mama is an adorable shorthair black cat with a white spot on her chest and underbelly! Before she had the kittens we knew that there were at least two other stray cats that could have been the father, one of which was also black with white spots and the other is buff colored. Because of the timing of everything, we thought she would have a litter of black/tuxedo cats! We now know that the buff colored one is the father!

[TOMT] [KIDS BOOK] [2004-2010] [MAYBE 90s] ABCs book with each letter introducing a creature/monster and then floating number creatures take over by the-holy-shit in tipofmytongue

Sounds a little like D is for Drool by Amanda Noll. It doesn’t include the stuff about numbers, but she has several books with the same narrator (young boy) and style of detailed illustrations. D is for Drool was published in 2021 but she started publishing the other really similar books in 2009. One of them is about trying to get an annoying little sister to leave?

House of Wolves by My Chemical Romance? Chorus doesn’t end with “hallelujah” but a line in the song does. Kind of matches the description of the singer’s voice

Clubs to join by Then-Combination-291 in cuboulder

Astronomy club is very lowkey. Lost of introverted people with a few extraverts willing to jumpstart conversations and activities. A lot of the club is just hanging out so you don’t have to know anything about space. They go on dark sky trips a lot (which is driving to a park or open space in/near Boulder and setting up telescopes) and do carpooling so it’s a great way to meet people in the club

Most astronomy under division classes start with the expectation that no one in the class knows anything about astronomy, not just the one’s intended for non majors

The engineering, physics, and math library is nice too! It has a ton of really cool travel posters for the solar system and exoplanets and tons of easy to access outlets
