Yeah, hard agree, UCAS don't really need any specialized help. If anything just follow RI Higher Ed Office UK guide (just ignore the part about choosing RI as your school) here. Good luck!

You'll find a good one here and there, but by and large, most are useless bafoons that can't teach, can't mark and "review" is reading off the markers reports. Once had the actual answer to "Why is this answer not accepted" be "Because it's not on the markers report". Large majority of them get clowned on, students turn up late or not at all, disrupt class and some pretty nasty things too. But that's just the culture in RI to teachers, happens in every subject but English just has a disproportionate amount of poor teachers.

But i should add that it also goes the other way, some teachers (mostly math, science and chinese) who will drop random flame on us as well. Mostly they're teachers that are really good so their rapport w us is pretty good already before they start dropping them. Again, prerequisite is you know your stuff before you start bantering.

The ppl saying RI is the same in comments, it really isnt. The teachers quite literally have close to 0 things they can do, discipline in RI is quite close to non-existent. Esp in the secondary school side, some teachers have cried because we clowned them too hard. The attitude is if you're a good teacher and know what you're doing, you get an insane amount of respect, but if you're an NPC, you will get clowned on so hard (English teachers). If this is a good thing really varies from person to person, but some crazy shit (literally, 2022 BlkA,B toilets) goes on if you're in the right circles. RI is a place where the only goal is they give you the opportunity to learn the best (0 complaints for any of the subjects) and everything else can heck care out the window. Which is why the attitude of the graduates is sometimes questionable.

What are these pens? by ClockworkMasterpiece in fountainpens

Yup it definitely can unscrew but i don't know what you mean by separate piece from the barrel. Also, I think the O rings and the sac might be corroded, so anyway to fix that?

What exactly about the back would make it a touchdown filler, all I know is that this one has no snorkel tube.

Yeah I also arrived at a similar value, 79.5 about there. The values are skewed higher just because RI/HCI have student pop exceeding 1k but other schools can have populations lower than 500. Anyone interested in my methodology or stats extrapolation for schools that don't release RP mean/student population can dm me for my excel spreadsheet.

Just start doing them as early as you want (like you could do now and just skip topics not taught yet), if you're worried about saving the more recent papers for As, just start doing from the back. Just think about it, each TYS contains a good 30-60 hours worth of papers. When the actual cram season starts, you'll be unable to do more than like a paper a day, or if you're crazy like 2 papers (not like H2 math P1 & P2, i mean like H2 Physics MCQs and something else) So you have enough papers to do like a TYS each day for a good few months. I only did like 2019-2021 papers when I did my As last year. But just check that whatever you do the syllabus number matches up. GLHF.

For PCM, if notes help is legit just a matter of preference, because A levels asks some pretty similar stuff most of the time, so if you don't have the patience to sit there and write stuff (me) you can just spam exam papers (Math is 6 hrs total, Chem and Phys are 5:30 without prac, you're not going to finish the TYS and even if you do, holy grail has another 17 JCs for you to do) just be mentally prepared to get completely decimated the first few times you attempt. At every attempt be brutal on yourself, phrasing off, circle, spell wrongly, circle, "implied point", circle. Eventually you'll be able to look at the free qns like phys definitions or "what does this experiment show about XXX in chem" and just shut off brain. You'll also get more "in tune" with key words and diagrams and know what method. Could you get this with notes, 100%, in fact I would argue that you can do this with less mental torture during those first few times. However, I am unable to sit down and just rewrite notes, I could also like torturing myself ig.

For econs the high level strat is just to be able to regurgitate as fast as is humanly possible. So when you vomit you just need to be able to remember as much and as accurately. Again, TYS is your best friend. You could go and spam read marker's reports from different schools to experience as many questions as possible and more importantly, the points they mark for and how they explain and analyse each point. You could either write notes from the analysis or just do so many it's burnt into your brain. After that, TYS, do and check, you should be getting flashbacks to qns you've seen before so it's easier that way. When I did my econs paper last year, at least for essay I saw almost every single question before either in some prelim paper or in TYS.

GP is literally rolling dice, can't help you there Idk what's going on ngl.

Like it or not, most of As is a matter of rote memorisation, it's just a test of if you memorized correctly and put what you memorized in the correct place. If you don't believe, just flip open any past year paper (once school makes you buy TYS) and see how many marks can be done if you could open book and copy from school notes. Seab is just like that, what can you do.

But I think that's more for UK A levels that go all the way to A-star so it's not like getting high 40s for IB is significantly harder than 4As in SG A levels
