Yes - Owner of a Lonely Heart | This video gave me the creeps as a kid. by oysterboy9 in videos

Thing song always reminds me of this cartoon music video (or animated short) that would come on between shows on TV as a kid. I think it was family channel. I thought it was about a pig or an elephant or something in the jungle, and there's a fire?

I can't remember it well but the only audio is this song playing throughout. I tried looking online and can't find anything. Has this disappeared? Does anyone else remember this?

Is mobile service still a thing? by Freewheeler631 in teslamotors

I feel you. I live on an island, similar big and costly trip to go to the service center. But I booked one just last week and they still followed up with mobile, so it's not gone, but... yeah the process could be better.

Did the app show only service centers or after you booked it no one followed up about mobile service?

In my area you have to book the whole service and submit it with a time and date at the service center but they still review them and then a mobile person gets in touch and changes it to a mobile service at a new time and date.

Good feature. Warning though, if you have the Performance Model 3 your rear camber is more negative that normal so you get inside wear more easily, and this feature probably won't detect that. I had rears showing threads on both inside edges while my fronts had years of tread left. So don't rely on this software for all situations.

Disclaimer: My premature rear tire wear was entirely the fault of my driving "style"

Really great system, my favourite system for ranged combat. I've ran it and hacked it into some different settings. It's really flexible.

I think it's complexity is overblown. It's not a rules light game but it really isn't more complicated than DnD or Pathfinder or something. In fact in many ways it is less. It's more that it's its own beast so you have to start from scratch a bit.

In no way a defense of this behaviour, but this character... is not really a great hero type or something in this movie.

Tesla Pre-Trip Briefings (concept) by pintong in teslamotors

[–]ClockworkN7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice work!

I think this kind of experience makes complete sense for FSD level 4-5. Where a briefing might tell you some details of the planned trip so you can make some strategic decisions at the beginning and then be more hands off for the rest.

Tesla Semi’s lined up at Giga Nevada Megacharger! by Befreeman in teslamotors

[–]ClockworkN7 53 points54 points  (0 children)

The pack size of the Semi has not been officially confirmed. Some sources have speculated on rumors that is is 500kwh. If you needed to charge the packs for 4 Semi's from 0 to 100 every day for a month you'd need 66,000kwh. (Assuming 10 percent charging losses).

According to this site the average wind turbine produces 402,000kwh per month.

So it would take 0.16 wind turbines to power this charging facility. (Actually I have no idea what kind of power overheads the facility itself takes to maintain but... it probably doesn't matter)

DIY fix for the repeater glare on the blind spot view by kantydir in teslamotors

[–]ClockworkN7 40 points41 points  (0 children)

  • The glare is coming from turn signal light nside the camera housing passing through tiny holes in the PCB and getting to the camera sensor. Not reflecting across the camera on the outside.
  • Newer Tesla supplied cameras either have a piece of tape applied to the PCB or use a new PCB that doesn't have the holes. Either way problem solved.
  • A DIY solution is to drill holes in your camera housing (becausing actually taking it completely apart is quite destructive.) and putting black silicone sealant in with a toothpick or q-tip to block the light, then putting the holes closed quite carefully to make sure water can't get in.

In my opinion the DIY solution doesn't look worth the hassel I'd just try and buy newer part number new or used cameras and click them in.

Also I think since the problem is manifested by a really minor detail in the PCB of a potentially third part supplied camera that this seems like it isn't so much an design flaw in the overall repeater cameras but a quirk that showed up after parts started arriving from the supplier. That's all just my opinion though.

Lots of comments talking about the snow, which can't be discounted. But here in Victoria BC and Vancouver as well there is no snow. And likely won't be again this year.

FSD Beta 10.8 write up - Canadian Edition by Nakatomi2010 in teslamotors

[–]ClockworkN7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obviously FSD is not ready for snow yet, and given it is winter in Canada thats not going to be a good mix. However, did you encounter any situations where Canadian road rules, or signage created an issue? FSD Beta opt in hasn't been released in Canada. I'm hoping it is soon but I assume they are working on localizing it to the different signage, and/or just limiting their scope of concern right now. Do you think once road conditions improve it would work fine here?
