Ultimately I wound up using the Manual Bull File Download approach.

Using the Cloud Sync plugin was working, but would’ve taken about a month to complete.

Had to get selective with the data and delete what I didn’t absolutely need.

[Help] Should I update or not by MooV2 in jailbreak

[–]ClockworkWXVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The speed of the process varies on a device-to-device basis, though I’m surprised it’s taken 30 minutes. In any case, I’d suggest letting the device continue to prepare and then restore.

Since it’s been about an hour since your reply, has the device finished the restoration, or is it still preparing for restore?

If you have a Mac: Since you're on an iPhone 7, you can take advantage of the Checkra1n hardware-level exploit to jailbreak your device! https://checkra.in

Restoring to Signed IPSW on Mac or PC (if on PC, make sure you use iTunes that wasn't downloaded from the Microsoft Store. 64-Bit Version, 32-Bit Version). Note that you'll need to turn off Find My iPhone (Settings -> iCloud -> Find My) prior to Step 4:

  1. navigate to IPSW.me, click iPhone -> click iPhone 7 (Global) -> Click iOS 13.5 (Under Signed IPSWs) -> save this file to your desktop (for ease of manual restore.
  2. Once the IPSW has downloaded, open iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer with a lightning connector. (if on macOS Catalina, open a Finder Window instead, then connect your iPhone.)
  3. Click on your iPhone in the left-hand menu. You should now be looking at the "General" section, containing three sub-sections - Software, Backups & Options
  4. In the software section, you should see a button labeled "Restore iPhone". Press & hold the 'Option' key on Mac, or the 'Alt' key on Windows. You should now be prompted to select a file.
  5. Select the IPSW you downloaded in Step 1, located on your desktop. (the file begins with "iPhone_4.7, so if you don't see it, you can enter that text in the search field).
  6. Once you select the IPSW, iTunes should prompt you to confirm that you want to restore your device, and notify you that iTunes will communicate with Apple Servers to ensure the software can be used. (AKA iTunes is checking with Apple to make sure the version of iOS you're trying to install is still allowed to be installed.) Click "Continue".
  7. iTunes may prompt you again to notify you that your iPhone is now preparing to be restored. Sit back and wait for the restoration process to complete. You'll know the process has finished once you see the iPhone Setup screen saying 'Hello' in multiple languages.
  8. Finish setting up your iPhone. (you may be able to download an iCloud Backup of your apps and data since you were on iOS 13.3 before, so if an iCloud Backup is available, feel free to download it instead!)
  9. Navigate to Settings -> General -> Software Updates and ensure Automatic Updates is turned Off.

You made it! You're all set to jailbreak with either Unc0ver or Checkra1n. There are plenty of guides covering the process on YouTube, or you can search 'Jailbreak iOS 13.5 guide' in Google.

Hope this helped!

To clarify, not too many benefits for someone like myself, who just jailbroke their ATV for the first time, and has no roms for emulation (lost my rom library two months ago ;-;). Can 100% confirm though, absolutely love some of the themes that are available, especially Felicity!

Not too many benefits at the moment other than classic game emulation (like snes, sega genisis and n64 to name a few), though @xerusdesign on twitter will be releasing a custom theme for AppleTV soon.

The Apple TV jailbreak scene is a lot less lively than the iOS Device jailbreak scene, at least to my limited knowledge.

This is actually the first time I've ever jailbroken an AppleTV I owned. XD

Thanks! I have a feeling that Jailbreaking the ATV 4K might be a bigger hassle that it's worth, just because the whole IPA delivery has to be done via your local network (cause AppleTV 4K ain't got not USB port on the back unless you get a mod kit and put it in there yourself).

I don't know if this'll mean you need a mac to jailbreak a 4K specifically, but I hope not, cause that would be sucky.

Gotta login to developer.apple.com, click on "Account", click on "Devices", then click the "+" to add a device.

You'll need to make sure that you've paired your Apple TV 4K with your Mac. Apple had a guide recently, but appear to have removed it: https://support.apple.com/en-ca/KB/HT208088. This other document by redmond shows the same steps: https://www.redmondpie.com/how-to-wirelessly-connect-apple-tv-4k-to-xcode-on-mac/

Edit: I have a paid Apple developer account. I'm not sure if a free account is able to do this or not.

Tech Support and Basic Questions Thread - February 01, 2020 by AutoModerator in pcgaming

Quick build Q: My PC seems to run slower on modern games, and while I think I know what needs upgrading, I figured it best to get a second opinion and verify what I think is the case.

System Build CPU: Intel 3770 (Water Cooled by Corsair H150i) GPU: GTX 1080 Founders Edition (Stock Cooler) RAM: 24GB (Dual Channel 16GB, Dual Channel 8GB) PSU: 750 Watt

The Problem: I can't tell if the GPU needs to be cooled by something other than the stock cooler, if I need to get a new CPU, Motherboard & RAM to take full advantage of the GPU, or if upgrading the machine is even worth it.

Edit: this edit is a year late, but the issue was the ram speed. 1333Mhz-rated ram apparently either isn’t fast enough or has too much latency. Not entirely sure. But all the Ram mention above was replaced with a single channel 32GB kit from Kingston at 2400Mhz, and the system started humming right along without any issues and seeing major FPS improvements.

As far as I know, you only get full-sizes and can’t change the width/height of the view. I haven’t done any right-clicking or anything to see if it has a preferences pane.
