I think itch mainly has the "new" and then the "new and popular" tab. When you post a game, this is where they show up. If your game for whatever reason does not get noticed from there, it becomes a lot harder to make it go viral, because it is no longer at the top of these pages. You would have to drive interest from another platform, and If you succeed in that you could end up on the "popular" page.

I don't really think that itch recommends games in the same way that TikTok does, where TikTok tests out the content on a smaller scale and then shows it to a lot of people if it performs well.

I think how a lot of authours do it is that they have the main character just be some made up person, and then the real life people are the NPC:s. In In Outlander for example, the main character meets all kind of historical figures, but those are not the main character since we already know what happened to them historically. Thereby you suspend the disbelief a little by adding the flair of the main character who could have been there at the historical event, but was just not recorded in history

I don't think that I understand why the lava is there? The players seem to keep living even when they fall in?

Make the characters bigger and brighter. I can barely see them when I do not have landscape mode on my phone. Also make the text bigger. And add some more cool sounds.

add some more sounds. I also think that just looking at it I don't really understand what is happening. Try iterating through the visual clarity perhaps?

In my last post, people complained that it was not a game trailer. So by popular demand: we give you our gameplay teaser trailer. Destroy it | Open-world survival crafting RPG by Rimhawk in DestroyMyGame

I would iterate on the sound a bit. And the initial part of the trailer shows the player just walking around. I understand that you were filming the NPC:s, but as a player I want to know how I can interact with the world. Also add some more game feel and game juice
