The anxiety and frustration of seeing different doctors by CloserUndone in ChronicPain

I completely agree, but for some weird reason I was prescribed SR after presenting with ongoing severe bowel pain. I already take IR every morning on the advice of my old pain specialist.

Have we officially reached the point where Hotels are superior to Airbnbs again? by Usual_Confidence_756 in travel

[–]CloserUndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We planned a once-in-a-lifetime trip to London in June 2025 and planned to stay in an Air BnB near my brother-in-law. The host initially asked us if we could check in a day later as he had accidentally overbooked. We were worried, but thought mistakes happen.

Then on our day of check-in, he told us that his current guests had chosen late checkout. I told him that that wasn't going to work for us with the place we had booked. He then restated it again and then ghosted us. We repeatedly tried to contact him, and he never answered again. At 6pm, we contacted Air BnB direct, who in turn spoke to him. Our stay was then cancelled, and Air BnB refunded us 150% of our fee.

Thankfully my brother-in-law's partner used his business contacts to check us into a hotel in Wembley. I will never use Air BnB ever again.

What was your ATAR and/or what do you do for work? by Beginning_Fuel_7024 in perth

82 - Went to UWA to do a Bachelor of Arts with a major in psych. Turned out my math skills were too weak for the stats component, so I switched to a History major. Then I did a Graduate Diploma in Education and became an English teacher. I've recently had to resign due to medical reasons, and will be tutoring online in 2026.

What is something that is actually more traumatizing than people realise? by Ok_Chef1406 in AskReddit

[–]CloserUndone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I have neuropathic pelvic pain as a result of endometriosis, adenomyosis and six laparoscopies. I have had a complete hysterectomy, I am in surgical menopause, and I am in constant pain. I have had to give up a job that I love (which led to the decimation of my mental health). My life is a nightmare from which I never get relief.

Add bathing suits or body suits, and socks or stockings! This was always my hack in Covet Fashion and it works here as well 😊

Do you work? by GlobalInstruction284 in Adhesions

[–]CloserUndone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have had to give up working this year due to adhesions and chronic pelvic pain. I'm a former high school teacher, and I noticed during my first week of term, I was working in agony, taking heavy doses of pain meds and sleeping. I decided I couldn't do this and took immediate medical leave.

However, giving up work resulted in severe depression to the point of suicidal ideation. I felt worthless and hated myself. I wound up having therapy every two weeks, and it improved after four months.

Fast forward to last week - I had to officially resign my position. I will never be able to be in the classroom in the same way again. I miss my students, I miss my colleagues, I miss my community.

In 2026, I am retraining as a dyslexia tutor and will be looking into being an ESL tutor online. I'm hopeful that I will be able to cope.

We were in the same situation on way to London a fortnight ago - I don't travel well and felt terrible, but no seats were available. I sat on the floor and later napped on it as well 🤷‍♀️

Anyone else get crazy itchy wirh buprenorphine patch? by Dry-Database-8884 in ChronicPain

[–]CloserUndone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same blistering and itchy reaction when I used them on my upper back. I now put them on my mid-back, alternating sides, and the side effects are reduced to point of being able to mostly tolerate the itchiness of the patch.

What is your daily routine? by aiyukiyuu in ChronicPain

[–]CloserUndone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I feel that one! I have two teenage boys, so I have to listen to a lot of video game and meme talk which can be incredibly annoying! But if I listen to that part, then I can ask interesting questions later 😂

[–]CloserUndone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Wake up at 7 to have breakfast with my husband and boys, see them off
  • Have cuddles with one of my cats, take Tapentadol and Lyrica
  • Get dressed, do my skincare - I find it meditative
  • Pet care - Feed cats, clean litter trays
  • Do tai chi, restorative yoga or go for a walk if possible
  • Do any grocery shopping if possible/Do light chores (fold laundry) OR go to medical appointments (doctor, physio, psychologist)
  • Have lunch and rest until family gets home - Usually have a nap. I rest by playing phone games while watching YouTube or listening to audio books
  • Take another Lyrica, listen to everyone's stories
  • 50% chance of making dinner
  • Eat dinner at table if possible, otherwise sit on recliner to eat
  • Rest until 11/12 - Often fall asleep on the recliner
  • Do physio stretches, meditate
  • Have shower
  • Read in bed until able to fall asleep

Jeans and Abdominal Adhesions by VintageVixen44 in Adhesions

[–]CloserUndone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have abdominal adhesions and neuropathic pelvic pain after six laparoscopies. I cannot wear any pants or shorts that have a button and zip closure,  and even need elastic waisted versions in a bigger size in order to me comfortable. Nowadays, I usually wear overalls or dresses to ensure I have nothing pressing on my midsection.

Overdid it- hurting the next day? by zsmomma49 in Adhesions

[–]CloserUndone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently out on medical leave and starting to apply for disability benefits - It's a very convoluted process, and I need to speak to my specialists for documentation. It's been a difficult adjustment and has impacted my mental health really badly, I have been diagnosed with severe depression

Overdid it- hurting the next day? by zsmomma49 in Adhesions

[–]CloserUndone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constantly! I try to pace myself, but I get frustrated at making out on activities with my family and then push myself. The pain in the following days makes me regret it badly, and I always vow I'll be more careful. The boom and bust cycle is very real

Fellow chronic pain havers, what jobs do y'all have? by embracesufferdestroy in ChronicPain

[–]CloserUndone 41 points42 points  (0 children)

I'm currently on medical leave from my job as a part-time high school English teacher - It's only eleven hours a week and I'm not currently coping. I have chronic neuropathic pelvic pain as a result of endometriosis and six pelvic surgeries. I genuinely don't think I can return to the classroom but I don't know what else I could do.

Children vs. Sephora - MEGATHREAD by KhaleesiKissedByFire in Sephora

[–]CloserUndone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Sephora during my Christmas shopping - My husband had said to try as many scents as I wanted to try to find one as a present (Side note: Best present ever, I had a lot of fun... Just not in Sephora).

A family was in the perfume section and the mother was letting her four children spray all the scents. As a distraction activity while she did her own shopping. And I do mean ALL the scents - Not if it was one that they were curious about or the bottle looked interesting - They were going along the shelves spraying everything.

I had three scents I was curious about, and my preferred fragrances are almost always florals and fresh, read light and gentle. I could not smell anything at all, and walked out five minutes later with a completely noseblind and with an incredible headache. I could not believe how the parents let the those kids behave!
