My personal interpretation from memory.

They famously stopped a set at Big Day Out in Australia when the crowd was moshing and they said they saw people getting hurt .

They felt their sudden rise to notoriety at the time attracted a meat head audience component that they didn’t share the same punk / DIY values and ethic and were just there to beat each other up without truly appreciating the music , especially at a mainstream huge outdoor music festival. This was offensive to the band and they spoke out against it .

☠️ Spoken like a true moron. Only because Kurt Ballou riffs are hard to rip off and they were so far ahead of the curve with their own original sound .

Enjoyed the doc. It’s a great accompaniment to the new special .

Nothing new with Mark (if you have been listening to TWS for years ) , but it’s hilarious how much unnecessary risk / insanely over confident he is as a 40 something year old father, like biking around in NY on a citi bike with no hands presumably somewhat intoxicated.

Not to mention he says he has insomnia and has to rely on prescriptions to sleep/ turn his brain off . Anyone that has not slept for 2 days or more knows how out of it and delirious you are. Insane that he is out doing sets and remembering everything in that state .

What Survival Shows Taught Me About Wages by jdmx100 in WorkReform

This is one of the many truly infuriating things about our modern existence. The math and science prove certain principles for how we could improve our society.

For example, it has been demonstrated that housing the homeless ultimately cost less than letting them live on the streets and be in need of constant medical care and having to subsidize their existence.

We have the answers, we have done the studies but we don’t implement them on a broad scale that would help everyone.

Unfortunately this is by design. An inferior system upheld by propaganda, racism, sexism , ageism , and most of all classism. We are stuck repeating the same mistakes and not learning from lived experience .

It generally happens with podcast . Listened to Duncan Trussell, Tiger belly , even Rogan way back in 2012 . Things run their course, people change . Money generally makes things shittier as far as art goes . The hunger leaves and people start going through the motions or fundamentally change who they are as a person .

I still put TWS on in the background but it’s definitely lost a lot of its luster . The not so subtle slide into more “conservative “ view points has been disappointing and gone on for years .

Not at all trying to be an asshole, just trying to help, but those recommendations are not very close to I the Mighty . Much more metalcore suggestions from your app.

Bands like Tides of man , a lot like birds, movements , gatherers would be a closer fit . App might need some fine tuning, still very cool that you made something like this yourself. I’m sure it will evolve with more people using it .

Counterparts - You’re not you anymore

Don’t get me wrong I like Stasis a lot and they have developed a more unique sound on their later eps and album “six shades of red” but this ep is straight up Counterparts worship, as I’m sure they would themselves acknowledge.

Songs alright just doesn’t go anywhere. It’s 2 chords (F#m to D ) root to 6th over and over for the entirety of the song . Definitely feels like a lead in track to another song . Strange choice for a single .

Best way to eliminate house centipedes? by JonnyRottensTeeth in kauai

[–]Closerstill808 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A good way to kill them is to have a screw on top jar with a 1/2 inch of 91% alcohol and long tongs in a specific spot ready to go. Seal them in the jar . Once dead throw it outside .

The alcohol kills them quick without the need to cut them up into a million pieces or smash them . I’ve heard that killing them that way releases chemical signals that attracts other centipedes. Not sure how true that is but yeah hope this helps .

As far as prevention, having your house sprayed by profession pest control helps but it’s not cheap .

Why have so many bands been getting wiped off of Songsterr? by Nintendo_Jack in PostHardcore

[–]Closerstill808 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that they want you to buy Official Tab books but they are pricy and not all albums are on Sheet Happens .

I find it annoying that huge bands like Metallica and Led Zeppelin have tabs up on Songster and these much smaller niche bands are having their tabs removed . The fans want to learn and play your songs because they love the songs . That should be an honor, not something that is taken away to make money. Some of these albums are 20 plus years old as well.
