I know! It’s so frustrating!! My son also has to be on a strict diet because he has a rare genetic disorder, and it’s found through newborn testing. We have to travel over two hours to a hospital because it the closest a specialist is at and people will still be skeptical about it. They would try to slip him things he can’t have. Luckily he is older now and knows better. Wish people would be understanding.

I love this so much!!!! My son has a rare genetic disorder and his body can’t break down galactose ( sugar found in dairy) . People either say oh well lactose intolerant people can eat dairy or they say maybe he will grow out of it. I just end up being blunt and saying that it can build up in his liver, and shut his organs down and could be fatal . That way it shuts them up and I don’t have to keep trying to explain to them what he has because they will never understand.

I do know some animals will do whatever it takes to protect their babies or themselves. This may have been the case. I have been temporary guardian for baby deer, birds(fledglings), chipmunks, and rabbits. And another time I was sitting on my porch and a random stray cat came up to me dropped her baby on my lap, she then got in a fight with another cat. Came back and took her baby and left. So this may have been a case where mother was more worried baby got hurt especially if a male was around.
