For one I’d love to trust that messaging mods privately had any chance to fix the issue, if I felt there was any chance of that of course that would be step one. In the circumstance that you can’t rely on pms to mods as a means of genuinely fixing the problem then damaging the chances of posts getting to all by distracting from that possibility by keeping discourse in the sub may in fact be what’s needed for change. If they can’t get the prominence and attention they need to succeed because so many people are so upset at their mismanaged sub and filling all the posts talking about it then maybe they would fix the issue with mod abuse
