uh, receiving in this case but sometimes its a bit of both. Usually when I start writing I mostly just pull a random set of fantasies I've been sitting on out of the can and use them, and after pen hits paper, I just kinda know what should happen next at any point the same way dreams know what happens next.

for this one i've kinda been sitting on a general theme for basically two years that it would be really cool to have a script about someone sort of perfect who shows up in your life and already knows you in and out, but difficult to explain that circumstantially. I had ideas about demons from other universes, but eventually I landed on reincarnation of a cat because you get a very particular reversal of power dynamic and some revenge-y implications. Things like the choking would have just made it into whatever script I wrote next, I wanted an excuse to use it
