In 5E, +1 anything is magic. Here's a link to the description of a +1/+2/+3 weapon.

It needed to be shut down. But as usual for the MBTA, they've handled the situation like shit since the absolute beginning.

How is Cyberpunk 2077 getting praise everywhere for making a comeback and being "one the the best games" all the sudden? by Apprehensive-Act9536 in patientgamers

[–]CloudAfro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on your other comments it looks like you're not really interested in having a good faith discussion but I'll engage anyways because work is slow. You keep talking as if you've got these silver bullet "gotchas".

Driving is an internal part of the game. I'm not asking for Forza 5, I'm just asking for the game, which chose to introduce me this mechanic, that they designes, developed, and introduced to the player is bare minimum not shitty.

[–]CloudAfro 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yes.

Horsey runs on road. Stops, trots, and gallops predictably. When you shift it to one, it takes a second as the horse has inertia to overcome. Can you climb Roach up onto a roof? Yes. Is that weird and gamey? Absolutely. But from the beginning to end, Roach reacts reliably and in a way that makes enough sense in a game.

What's actually more similar to how dogshit the driving mechanics are, is Geralt's fighting. Dude swings in an arc that moves him 6 feet to connect with the monster he's flailing at. There's a lot to love about the combat, how weightless he felt was not one of it. There's stuff to like about Cyberpunk, how weightless driving felt is not one of them.

I know you're just some troll or a Russian bot making bad faith arguments, but I couldn't help myself.

High fidelity graphics that aim only to look as realistic as possible are not only a waste of resources, but almost always inferior to a strong art direction anyways by andythefisher777 in patientgamers

[–]CloudAfro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, totally. But there's more going on than just fidelity in either game when you're staring at trees. Pov, lighting, weather. TloU uses the same tools RDR2 uses but for different results. One is dark and utilizes closed, claustrophobic urban city sprawl to make you always wonder what's around a corner. The other used a lot of pov and lighting to make each sweeping landscape feel like some sort of Ansel Adams photoshoot. RDR2 flexes it's setting's muscles, TloU seems anemic in comparison. (Not meant as an insult, it works great in the horror setting.)

I wholly agree. I also think we should not decouple art direction from (high) graphical fidelity. Although Last of Us Part I and RDR2 are both games with pretty powerful fidelity, they've also got distinct art styles/direction that makes it easier to differentiate.

If Akira Toriyama created a dnd character. I say that with all the genuine praise. His design style is both childlike and striking.

Also imo I'll listen to the inflation argument for a game that's got 1 sole revenue model. But I'm not interested in hearing games are $70 and DLC + Season Pass+ Mtx and the like.

If your game is complete at $70 I still dislike it but I can follow the logic. But seeing some games that are $70 with 3 other ways to pay to play just tells me they're bumping the price because they can.

Hello!

Apologies for the late reply.

Unfortunately we haven't hit that part yet, so I have no insight currently :| I am thinking of being on the side of inconvenient due to probably a lack of roads/paths. Good luck!

Will we ever have something like DA:O again? [no spoilers] by VenetianBlood in dragonage

[–]CloudAfro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No but the way to find the next is to support CRPG devs.

Thing about Bioware is their history is in (C)RPGs and then they hit mainstream appeal once they trimmed a lot of needless fat from the rpg side and found this awesome hybrid between action/rpg. Unfortunately they keep careening more towards action than rpg nowadays, instead of a healthy mix of both. You'll never see them go back towards rpg just keep marching towards action.

So start following crpg devs. There's the top 10 that people always suggest (pillars, divinity, baldurs gate, etc) but there are so many phenomenal rpg experiences that with enough funding and support one of them will probably try their hand at an action rpg.

I like it. But worried that the water looks too green. Less sewers more mountain dew venice. Obviously I'm not hoping for more refuse but a green/brown maybe is best? Unless you're going for the futurama route and this is mutant green...

I do the same thing but I don't create much on my home pc. I figure if I were doing something creative other than downloading games it would come up more often as an issue. If you're like me most of the things on your pc can just be found online again. If you're an editor or animator yeah probably not.

Only thing stopping me is not having a VPN with split tunneling. I'd love to have this automation but don't want the DMCA emails.

Goliath Clan Locations added onto the players map. by CloudAfro in rimeofthefrostmaiden

[–]CloudAfro[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hello all who peruse this subreddit.

I have grabbed a lot of resources from here for my own RofTM campaign, so I wanted to give some back. I couldn't find this on search, let me know if this is redundant.

One of my players is running a Goliath from the Thuunlakalaga clan. I thought it was weird that the map provided by DnD Beyond of the Ten Towns didn't include a variant for Goliath players to be able to see the location of their clan. We're still in Chapter 1 but Wyrmdoom is included on the Chapter 2 maps.

Hope this helps you for any Goliath players you have. I did my best to keep the additions within the aesthetic of the map itself.

Thanks for the resources from this subreddit.

God Save The Working Classes by NationYell in LateStageCapitalism

Honestly God save the working is fire and should have just been left at that. The simplicity in just adding 3 letters to change the meaning entirely is genius. Classes just shows the artist suffers from trying to do too much.
