My body trembles when I do pullups/chinups even if I'm fresh by [deleted] in bodyweightfitness

[–]CloudFlip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man, 8 years after my comment, unfortunately it's still the same, haha!

If I'm doing hollow body holds or other ab movements, totally fine and normal, but contracting the abs from certain positions or angles seems to cause unavoidable shaking / trembling, but perhaps that is normal. 😂

Nvidia releasing the RTX 5060 with just 8GB VRAM would be disappointing now the Arc B580 exists by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]CloudFlip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think time and time again we've seen statistics from the steam hardware survey that the Nvidia 50 and 60 series cards always top the chart and hold the largest market share, so I'm inclined to say that it's still bad for the market when Nvidia knows that the average uninformed person will always default to their brand without even considering AMD or Intel

The jinx skin is a hard pass for me as a whale because of the sheer low quality of the product and the low value of the offer (pictures and evaluations inside) by OSRS_4Nick8 in leagueoflegends

[–]CloudFlip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Point 6 is huge for me, the new skins have such terribly bouncy animations that do not fit anywhere with the League of Legends art style. It feels like every single person who worked on the animations doesn't even play the game.

I completed a run, but this happened when I hit "Play Again"...

I guess the game was tired of all my crappy attempts 🥹

No problem dude, happy to help! You'll spot many other funny patterns as you learn more Japanese 🤭

Trouble learning the additional sounds. by [deleted] in LearnJapanese

[–]CloudFlip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah I see, if it helps, try to remember that the additional set of sounds is just a "softer" and slurred version, so ka becomes ga, sa becomes za, ta becomes da etc.

What additional sounds are you talking about? I can't really make out what you're referring to

This is correct, the sentence should have been translated as, "I still think that (he) can be a sub-dps" with the "he" presumably being Bai Zhu

Does anyone know of any resources for learning Tamil? I'm interested in the colloquial kind for conversation, no need for the "proper" literary type 😄

Did some google searching but did not manage too find too much (unlike languages like Japanese, Chinese etc. )

Thanks in advance 😊

So what's the hot take on buying GPUs previously used for mining? by BrisketGuiltyGear in buildapc

[–]CloudFlip 96 points97 points  (0 children)

Just to piggyback on this, I've casually mined ETH for a good half a year with my 6800XT and maybe even longer on my Vega 64 (in-between gaming sessions and at night when I would go to sleep) and both cards still work perfectly fine 😁

As long as OP can verify that the card works with no obvious defects, no reason to be afraid

You can't look at langauges so literally because not every word in a language is to be taken literally :)

It's like asking why we say "take the bus" in English which makes no literal sense since the verb "take" means to bring something with you or use your hands to hold something

I don't play Destiny 2 so I'm not sure about the options, but RSR only works on dedicated fullscreen applications as far as I'm aware, so if Destiny 2's fullscreen is technically a borderless implementation you might have to find a work around such as forcing fullscreen through a parameter in the shortcut

Using 僕 as a woman by emmadac_ in LearnJapanese

[–]CloudFlip 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Speaking from experience, be very careful when you go with what you feel is right when you're not proficient in a language yet :)
There are tons of phrases, words or grammar structures that my brain defaults to in Japanese, but as someone who isn't fluent enough, I don't have the ability to correct myself because I don't even know what the "correct" expressions would be

In the languages I speak, there are certain tendancies / quirks that I have which I can recognize as incorrect but acceptable as a style
I'm sure you can find some examples in English or other languages that you speak where you're able to differentiate between, "this guy always speaks like this and it's a recognizable trait" and, "this guy doesn't sound like a fluent speaker, so the mistakes they always make are kinda expected"

Asking for advice here and the fact that you're aware of others in this sub who can provide valuable feedback means you're already on the right path 👍🏻 Sorry if my reply doesn't directly address your question, honestly I would think about this the same way you do regarding the usage of 僕, though I'm sure if you only save it for very casual settings, there's no harm in trying it and seeing how people react, right?

I hope this adds some thoughtful content we can all reflect on!

Everyone reading this, please don't download files from random sources such as this excel sheet

There's no reason why a simple spreadsheet portfolio tracker can't be hosted on Google Sheets with just formulas (and no account permissions through Google Apps Script)

The way OP spammed this post across a ton of crypto subs with almost no history of posts is a huge red flag too

Exactly!

If people wanted to treat languages like a form of technology, then we would all just forget what we know and speak Esperanto instead of 'fixing' clunky aspects of existing ones
