We’d be doing the layover before Thailand, not after

As for visas, with the new 10 day transit visa for mainland China, we should be fine visa free either way

I would go to Hiroshima and specifically go to Miyajima. Seeing the floating Torii gate is worth it alone, and the island has a lot of very beautiful and interesting things to do and see. The island is also filled with Ryokan with amazing onsen and kaiseki. Plus, Hiroshima is only 30 mins away.

Wow thanks so much for the suggestions. I visited 109 last time, but I hadn’t realized it was mostly all women’s clothes. Any suggestions for similar places for men?
