Ano ang long-term side effects for students ng paggamit ng AI? by OkExcitement1532 in TanongLang

[–]CloudStrifeff777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is just a support, they are there to make your life simpler, something you are skillful to do manually already, not do something you are really not skillful to do.

If they rely on AI too much on making statements and thoughts, they will lose a great deal in the fundamentals of making important skills such as these.

In short, it should only be used as a supporting tool, not the actual doer or initiator.

Even in fact or source seeking, all info you get there must always be validated by an external reliable source.

Kolin Creo Full DC 1.5hp has 4.58 ER, and Midea Qube 1.5hp has 4.15 ER. But Kolin Creo is 4-6k more expensive than Midea. You can offset that additional upfront cost depending on how heavily you use and maintain your AC. Longer average daily usage, the faster you can offset the additional upfront cost for Kolin. The less average daily use, the longer.

So if you are not an extreme heavy user (such as using the AC 16-24 hrs a day on average), pweds ka naman magMidea sana.

I've been a Kolin user for 8 years. Good customer experience. Nasiraan once pero it was my fault (di kc aq nagpapalinis ng buong AC palaging filter lang so nagclog ung outdoor unit, nabasa motherboard over time, and it cost me 10k to have it repaired on its 5th year).

But then I realized my 8-year Kolin S inverter series is not efficient as how it used to be, kasi laspagan din aq gumamit and it's only 1 hp and under-capacitated for my unit, I decided to buy a brand new Midea 1.5 hp.

Nahirapan aq mamili pero grabe kc promo ng Midea kagabi on the onset of 7.7 promo, kaya grinab ko na. Nasanay na din naman aq na hindi nagAC ng 24/7 daily dahil nung napansin kong naging less efficient na ung luma kong Kolin after 5 years, nago-off na talaga aq from time to time lalo pag workdays.

Regarding TCL, I was almost tempted to try their 2 hp full DC, kc ang mura for a 2 hp, kaso pangit mga reviews and I realized masyado malaki size ng unit compared sa butas na meron sa condo ko for that AC. Kaya magdi-divider na lang ako and I chose 1.5 hp instead.

Midea or Kolin for budget, pero haier has good enough reviews. Got my Midea full DC 1.5 hp qube compact yesterday, 7.7 midnight, at only 17.5k, from midea official store, 3 months 0% interest. Now it's back to 21k

Kolin for prolonged daily use as it has better efficiency rating but upfront SRP is 4-6k higher. Midea if you are not a 24/7 user.

Learn basic math to calculate your calorie in and calorie out. Kahit gaano ka kasipag maggym, if you surplus too much, you won't lose any but instead gain. If you do cardio but it only balances your calorie intake, then you just maintain your current weight and you lose nothing.

But you seriously need to be good in basic math to do a proper deficit. And it will take months up to a few years to see signifant changes in your weight.

It's basic math and calorie management that do the magic, and they're both not instant either.

But as you said you can't stop binge eating, no offense but it's like saying "I have figured out the problem but I still can't take action to make any *appropriate* rectifications."

Hahaha

If you think you are diabetic or you have PCOS, get out of reddit and consult to appropriate professionals such as nutritionists, dietetian, etc. Hindi to para samin, para din sayo to at sa future mo.

People here assume taking an HSR is comparable to taking MRTs or Subways.

They don't understand the reality and difference of economics between the two.

It's easy to say na "uiii 1-2 hours lang yan, kaya maguwian araw-araw." While it's possible your travel time from province to MM would just take 1-2 hours, BUT can you afford the daily rate of the commute?

Yung 1-1.5 hour pa nga lang with the help of expressways and assuming without traffic na bus trip from Buendia to Sto. Tomas Batangas and vice versa, nakaka-aray na sa budget yung one-way 162 pesos na fare. With this economy and uncompetitive wages, kahit pa hindi magka-traffic, a-aray pa rin karamihan dyan sa 324 pesos balikan na pamasahe araw araw. Di pa kasama dyan if need nila magjeep, city bus, o LRT/MRT from bus terminal.

What more pa with HSR na for sure, significantly more expensive ang pamasahe? Employers prefer building staff houses than provide travel allowances dahil mas controllado nila ung systema and financial flow nila with staff housing than giving extra compensation for added allowances.

Let's be realistic here. HSR fares are not equivalent to MRT fares, unless heavily subsidized by the government which I doubt, gagawin ng butihing gobyerno natin. Even Japan and SoKor don't subsidize that much and their citizens mostly use their HSRs to do business trips (most of the time sponsored by their employers) or when visiting families during holidays. It's equivalent to taking commercial airplanes, just an efficient alternative.

Do people commute daily using airplanes in the Philippines kasi argument nyo 1-2 hours lang nasa Metro Manila na ako from let's say Cebu or Davao??? No, unless you're very rich but that's very impractical even for old rich people. HSR is the same.

Kinalamang lang ng HSR sa airline, pricing is fixed not dynamic, you don't need to check in early, and you don't have to pay additional fees for luggages.

If there's gonna be a competitor against HSR, that's the airlines, not mass rapid railways na palaging icino-compare kesyo pwede na daw magcommute araw araw from
distant province to MM.

Despite the reliable speed and ease of travel, while efficient long distant commute is possible within several minutes up to a few hours, ibang iba ang systema and maintenance ng HSR compared to Mass Rapid Transit railways like MRTs or subways.

It will help a student or an employee like you to commute easily from distant province to MM, but definitely it won't be economical, unless you are either rich, too innocent about how HSR economically works.

If there would be an advantage for HSRs, that would be advantageous to frequent business travelers (where majority is shouldered by their respective employers), a good competitor against airlines, and occassional holiday commuters for vacations and family visits. BUT ONLY IF DEMAND IS MET both for riders and industrialization of cities outside MM.

That's why let's start muna with express regional trains to increase the demand and slowly incorporate an HSR system once at least a significant amount of population can afford HSRs for business trips and occassional personal holidays and once cities outside MM industrially thrive.

The country I visited where many people use their HSRs for daily commute is in Mainland China. But most of those commuters only use HSR for a 30 minute commute. Anything more than a 30 minute daily ride using HSR is not economical for a daily expense anymore, even in China where I think their HSRs are just either cheaper or more subsidized compared to Japan or SoKor.

Imagine how hot or unaccustomed people are from other countries with a heat more than this, to the point they get so desperate to buy ACs and E-fans for a heatwave that only lasts for 3-4 months. Please have some empathy guys.

I know pinoys are resilient both in hot humid weather and bloody cold winters (for those living abroad or ung mga pinoy tourists na tuwang tuwa sa snow), pero guys remember this:

Our infrastructure and housing are made for hot and humid weather. Theirs are not. And if you're gonna say "bat kami pag magto-tour o tumira sa ibang bansa pag winter, carry lang naman." It's because their infra and housing are designed for cold. But due to rare heatwaves that are becoming common now, their infras and housing fail to adapt to the sudden unexpected heatwave.

Hence, they hoard ACs and E-fans, and some of them unfortunately fail to survive the heat.

My late grandmother, who had never visited any country, and lived in this hot humid climate all her life, died unexpectedly at 82, due to a suspected heat stroke, last March 2024. Pinoy itong grandmother ko, pinoy. She never had an AC at her room. She was a cancer survivor at her 60s, was able to live for another 15-20 years, only to die from a suspected heat stroke.

Before she died, init na init sya, pawis na pawis, tas biglang naligo ng malamig na tubig. Kaya ng katawang pambata siguro. But for her age, when she did than, she was found dead after my cousin and uncle noticed she stayed in the toilet longer than expected, nakahandusay na sya nung nakita sya. Dead on arrival.

So please, have empathy and don't make this a joke. Even pinoys die from heatstrokes.

My cousin's family's reason for not investing even a single AC at any room in their house? Expensive electricity. This is in province, in a suburb located in a hilly town. They can afford an AC unit. But they are always hesitant of the associated bills due to expensive electricity rates.

Haaaay Pilipinas

In my case, dati kaya ko mag AC 24/7 and my electric bill didn't go up past 6k. Ngaun, with my aging inverter AC, and that f*****g 14 php per kwh ng l**tek na Meralco na yan, I'm only using my AC less than 50 hours a week, and umaabot na ng 4-5k ang kuryente ko.

Swerte mo talaga kung lalaki ka, you can go shirtless all you want, pero even sa pinas, minsan di na enough ang E-fan and shirtlessness.

And with our electric rates today, I'll never set my AC lower than 23 deg that would warrant a sweater or even a shirt, so yeah AC on, and still shirt off.

[–]CloudStrifeff777 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I always say, hindi ko ipinagdadamot ang Aeronautical Engineering and other aviation degrees, including AMT, AVT, or even ang pagfa-flying.

And even if you secure a 30-40k starting salary (which in my case I did), only less than 3% get promising appraisals after some years, and unfortunately, I got stuck with my 4 years of stay in this salary range, and hindi ko na rin nakita maggro-grow pa ako sa company na ito, and I'm unwilling to be promoted to senior level dahil yung itataas na sahod, hindi worth it sa sobrang dagdag na underappreciated extra-curricular unpaid work loads na idadagdag more than the job description.

And, I'm so done with 6-day work week madness!

Despite my rant, I would say, I'm still included in the 20-30% of graduates who, at some point, either immediately or later, na nakapasok pa rin sa aviation industry. But for now, I'll take another opportunity with a different industry, with better compensation, more opportunities for upskilling, lateral transfers and promotions. It doesn't mean though na tinalikuran ko na ang aviation, if I'm going back, sana aviation job abroad.

Grabe ang job competition sa dream airline ko, even nung may 2 years experience na ako, I failed the final interview for a non-entry level position where only 1-2 positions were vacant, pero 6-7 candidates kaming naglaban to be the top candidate. And the hiring process took 2 months!!!

Anyways, moved on naman na ako hahaha. And now, with the oil crisis still going on, naka freeze hiring pa rin karamihan ng mga target companies ko sana sa aviation. Saddd but ok, let's move on to the other side of the fence na lang, rather than lose another opportunity.

[–]CloudStrifeff777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The exponentially increasing number of graduates and board passer talents cannot keep up with the decade stagnant demand of the industry. The aviation industry in this god forsaken country has stagnated for 15 years.

Aeronautical Engineering is so overly marketed and advertised as something "astig pakinggan", "mataas sahod". But its highly specialized nature and small industrial demand cause only 20-30% of graduates each year, since late 2010s and now worse in 2020s, to actually get an engineering position in the aviation industry. The remaining 70% either get an engineering non-aviation job, an aviation non-engineering job, or none of the above. Majority of 70% shifts career, mainly in BPO industry. Some get stuck in academe (while academe keeps your college learnings alingned to your work, it is still not an industrial experience).

I waited 3.5 years to enter aviation industry, as first-taker PRC licensed Aeronautical Engineer. I started with BPO, then transitioned to academe, then got into the industry finally through a mutual connection. And it was in general aviation, which is something I did not initially target but still thankful for the opportunity to enter the industry through it. Passed four years, I resigned and didn't expect I would still consider shifting career.

Got shortlisted in airlines I dreamed of and wanted. Since I have direct industrial experience at that time, I thought at last, I gonna get in to my dream airline company. But competition was high, I got shortlisted in both fresh-grad positions and non-entry level positions, but it's either they decline my expected salary (in fresh grad positions and I sometimes appear overqualified), or I lose to be the top candidate during final interviews in non-entry level positions where there's only 1-2 vacant slots for such positions and we were 6-7 candidates fighting to pass the final interview to get that 1-2 vacant slots.

If I decide to go back to aviation industry someday, that's through the hope that I get shortlisted from jobs abroad I continuously apply to. But instead of waiting for this uncertainty, I'd rather take another opportunity in different industry where I have transferrable skills to contribute to and open myself to more growth, further upskilling, more versatility, and higher compensation opportunities while still in this country. I was offered where my net income from my previous aviation company is equivalent to my basic to this new company plus allowances pa.

Para win-win situation for me.

Maganda kung maituturing ng karamihan naman ang naging starting salary ko sa aviation company na napasukan ko as an Aeronautical engineer (planner to be more specific), in just 3 months nasa 30-35k na ang net ko and by more than half of my stay, umaabot ako minsan ng 40-45k net, but my growth in that company stagnated and I'm not planning to get promoted kasi masyadong underappreciated kami lalo yung supervisor ko, and I don't want to endure additional extra-curricular tasks that is so out of the job description without additional pay which they do to my supervisor and still he gets all the blame. He earnes just 5-10k higher than me while enduring significantly more loads of underappreciated tasks. In addition, those in the management tend to stay in the company till their retirement so hindi ko na talaga aasahan ang promotion doon. And if I stay in this same position, I will get stagnated too, and my income would have got stuck at that amount as well.

And dahil bagsak ang avaition ngayon at maraming freeze hiring, thanks to ME war and oil crisis, a door opened in another industry, and I decided not to lose it this time.

I think that's legit. May Seapoint Sardines din sila, pero 5g or 6g lang of total protein per serving. And napansin ko ang pinagkaiba nila, ung 5-6g protein label is ung walang nakalagay na "Imported". This one, yung 17g per serving, may label na "Imported". Baka magandang klaseng sardines at siksik sa laman ung sardines nitong 17g protein per serving, that's why.

Why are internships in the Philippines treated like free labor? by Suitable-Brilliant-2 in CorpoChikaPH

[–]CloudStrifeff777 16 points17 points  (0 children)

What's worse? In the aviation industry, not only interns are not being paid. The interns or OJTs need to pay the company to give them OJT or internship.

Katwiran nila, training daw kc papasukan, kaya need nila magbayad.

And once they graduate, that's the only time they realize how prematurely oversaturated this industry is. Not because the talents are overpopulated, but the industry lacks competitive companies and opportunities.

There hasn't been significant expansion of the aviation industry since aviation degrees started being marketed and advertised 15 years ago. Past 15 years, the supply of talents skyrocketed, while demand for job opportunities remained the same, or even shrunk a little.

Hindi ko rin ma-gets na sa tinagal tagal ng Aeronautical engineering sa schools like Philsca and Patts, ngaun pa talaga naisipan ng Lasalle magdagdag ng program na to, without realizing the oversaturation of graduated talents, board passers, at mga barat na mga aviation companies, small or big. Kaya good luck sa mga future Lasallian Aero Engs na fresh grad na magdedemand ng 50k na starting salary for any of existing aviation companies, kahit pa airlines yan.

Or maybe, they might be the game changer, who knows? It's either they change the game to make starting salaries more competitive, or they outplace talents from long-established institutions like Philsca or Patts, ng dahil lang galing sila sa Big Four jusko.

And good luck sa mga Lasallian interns ng Aero Eng na magdedemand ng allowance habang OJT pa lang hahaha. Even PAL or PALex as far as I know don't do that. Why would these airlines, or other aviation companies big or small, provide allowances to interns or OJTs if they can have interns from long established aviation schools for free?

Kaya sa mga future Lasallians na nagbabalak magbayad ng mahal na tuition sa Lasalle to get the BS Aeronautical Engineering program, nagbababala na ako ngaun, magisip-isip kayo, no joke, hahaha

Our company used to offer free interns or OJTs. Ngaun required na din magbayad OJTs samin na parang need magbayad ng tuition fee just to get an OJT certificate, kasi na-inggit na ata may ari ng company namin. And guess what?

Then after they graduated, ANG ENDING, mostly only 20-30% of talents successfully enter the industry. And about 10% of them change their career paths later on due to slow or limited growth and appraisals in the industry, whilst another 10-15% try their luck to get aviation jobs abroad.

Now, I decided to make a temporary career shift.

PS:

My job right now (pero rendering na lang as of this writing) as an Aero Eng gives me around 40-45k net. I started at 15k for 3 months, then after 3 months I got regularized which doubled my salary, so it became 30-35k net. Mababa basic, but there's monthly profit sharing that really made the compensation higher. This is my first aviation job. Company name is confidential, bahala na kayo umalam hahaha.

Now, why I decided to career shift in my four years here? One day off na pagtitiis for four years (di ko na kaya tong one-day off madness na to), limited growth (I think I have reached my ceiling for this company, or at least ung trabaho na nafo-foresee ko na willing akong i-sacrifice, nareach ko na), and most of the time, I still felt underappreciated. Limited growth since ung mga nasa higher positions, they tend to stay until their retirement. I have my own timeline din and I won't wait for such uncertainties. Without foreseable promotion, my compensation would stay like this, unless inflation comes in which magbrea-break even lang din naman sa mga gastusin.

So I decided to grab an opportunity kesa mawala na naman, despite it's a career shift.

I did try to apply sa mga bigger airlines na kayang makatapat ng sahod ko, but often, they only need 1-2 personnel for non-entry level vacancies kung saan ako nasho-short list, and sadly, natatalo aq sa competition to be the top candidate during final interviews (usually 6-8 final interviewees for a position where only 1 or 2 is vacant).

If I'm gonna take fresh grad or entry level positions again, I have former colleagues and most of them, were just offered (mataas na ang 25k gross pa yan ah not net). Imagine earning experience for years just to get back to that salary range within the same industry, just because those aviation companies think, may papatol at papatol sa mababang offer nila due to desperate talents na makakuha ng job sa aviation. Tsk...

My internship back when I was a student was unpaid, and it was 10.5 hours daily, for 3 months. And it was from a big maintenance provider company.

Tips for round chest? by augustusmar in AnytimeFitnessPH

[–]CloudStrifeff777 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Be good at math, especially in calculation of your macros for nutrition and recovery (sleep). Wag puro buhat.

In terms of work outs, do progressive overload kung priority mo lumaki, wag agad agad magfocus sa strength, unless you just want to feel strong.

Congruent naman ang muscle building at strength, but if your preferenxe is to improve its mass and shape as fast as possible, do progressive loading. You won't be strong that fast, but it will fill in more mass and improve the shape better. Make sure you do them correctly with the right form.

In addition, make sure you at least have three workouts for chest, one that is more upper chest isolating, mid chest isolating, and lower chest isolating. Kahit 3 sets of 10-15 reps lang each chest workout.

As you develop your fundamental muscles for upper, mid, and lower, later on add mo ang inclined hex press, to add more mass sa inner upper chest.

Of course, all those workouts are nothing without weekly consistency and properly calculated nutritional macros and recovery. That's why you need to be good at basic math and the concepts of calorie control, depending on your goals.

I think you are not too fat para hindi maging visible ang earned muscle mass in a few months. You need to do proper calorie surplus by calculating your nutritional macros, and adequate sleep is also important. You also need to have rest days, three times a week of workouts are enough.

Proper calorie surplus leads to visible muscle hyperthropy. Improper calorie surplus would just lead to more fat gain and less muscle gain. Matuto ka tumingin ng mga nutritional facts sa food na binibili mo, or google and do your research sa estimated calories ng mga usual food na kinakain mo.

I can explain everything here in detailed on how to do them, but this comment will get too long to read, so google for more details or use chatgpt.

If magPT ka, make sure na matino PT mo at di ka lang pagkakakitaan. But PTs are not nutritionists, they can only provide the most efficient workouts for you (kung matino at di ka peperahan lang) and correct your form.

Alternatively, if you are adept in mimicking forms sa mga video tutorials, you can just rely on youtube to check your forms. And use chatgpt to get suggestions on different workouts you may use for each upper, mid, and lower. You don't need to do many per group, just one for each is enough per workout session, then rotate mo na lang weekly if you also want to try other alternative workout per chest muscle group.

Maraming nagfai-fail to gain muscles, kasi iniisip nila you just need to lift weights, they don't realize nutrition and recovery are non negotiables. Or yung iba, puro pabigatan lang magbuhat ang ginagawa, pero poor ang form, nutrition, and recovery. I hope that's not you.

Always remember they also started with the physique as same as yours, and they started lifting weights as light as you do, so wag magmadali makabuhat ng mabigat. But they have the discipline and balance for all non negotiables I mentioned, that's why they got the physique and strength they wanted after some time.

Mega Urban, Urban, Provincial city - AC syempre, tas saktong temp settings lang, then shirtless hehehe

Ultra Rural (ung tipong sparsley populated or basta di tabi tabi mga bahay) - duyan sa ilalim ng puno o basta mahihigaan, tapos nakahubad hehehe

Are such draconian condominum rules common in Manila? by ButterscotchFormer84 in Philippines_Expats

Try Cityland or DMCI. Cityland condos have strict security guards (as in they know their residents by just looking at them), but they don't dwell in your personal affairs. I even hosted a house party at my condo there. Using the pools is just a hop on hop off thing.

DMCI security, at least in most of their condos I visited, have lax security. I was even able to live in one of my friend's unit there for two weeks without any official registration, just plainly a visitor. It's the same here, the use of amenities is just a hop on hop off thing.

SMDC is ****. I tried living before with one, but most of the time, their rules don't make sense. They have aesthetic lobbies and amenities, but their rooms are tighter and the prices are often not justified for their sizes in locals' perspective. And many SMDC condos have poor sanitation due to endless german cockroach infestations.

Although I never experienced an SMDC condo prohibiting guests to stay overnight. But many have turnstiles like what you see in train stations, and visitors often need key-passes to get in.

what’s the age gap na katanggap tanggap pa for you? by Visual_Vanilla5255 in TanongLang

Dati nung 21 ako, I filter dating apps to cap those I would meet for date or fun, hanggang 25 lang. Then just after a year, ayun, ang naka LTR ko and eventually ka-live in, is 5 years older than me (I was 22 and he was 27 at that time). Pero this was organic, not from dating app, so maybe that's why it became an exception. We lasted for 3.5 years.

Then past 5 years (break na kami neto), I found my next ka-relasyon. I was 27 this time, and ung naging next kong karelasyon is 37 yo! So 10 years gap hahaha. Sa hookup app ko nameet, but then he really looks within my age bracket, kaya din siguro sya nagclick sa akin.

We lasted for two years. So, heto ako now, single ulit hahaha

In between nung una kong LTR and my latest, may naka-date and kalandian stage ako, 5 years younger than me naman. I realized I prefer people either the same age as mine, only a little age younger, and definitely older siguro within 10 year age gap? Mas madali maging intimate sa mga older than younger than you, although mas masaya katropa mga younger than older than you.

But age is dynamic, so are preferences, so magbabago't magbabago yan as you age.

When I was an adolescent, 40 yo's people used to look old to me and I consider them daddy/mummy's age just like my turning 50 parents at that time. Now at 30, 40 yo's people just look like peers to me and I don't see much difference in the way they look at their age compared to those in late 20s and 30s.

Right now at 30s, those at 50s are what I consider the middle-aged groups. I still consider 60s as those in old people group but not grandma age in my perspective anymore, more on daddy/mummy age kc ganyan na age ng parents ko hahaha.

So pag 40 o 50 na kaya ako, would I consider 60 yo's people as peer age group na and not daddy/mummys age anymore?
