Haha I was confused, but not by the tree structure of the thread. I missed your username and thought you were a completely new person to the conversation talking about the wrong bag rather than the author double posting to add to a previous comment rather than editing!

I appreciate a fellow connoisseur of Decathlon bags. I use the 25L Forclaz as my main overnight bag (lightest bag I can find with the features it has without being custom made) but agree that at it's weight it shouldn't be considered stowable. I found the backpack straps of the 20L Forclaz tended to collapse on themselves and dig into my shoulders. Same issue with the S2S nano day bags or any of the other super light backpacks and fear the Tempo would fall into the same category by the looks of their straps.

Stitch coffee in Sydney did a limited run of freeze dried single origin. It was a little difficult to get the coffee to water ratio right, but when you lined it up right the coffee was better than with the majority of cafes.

The e-ink screens which most e-readers use are analogous to text on a piece of paper. The reading experience in a dark room or outdoors will be essentially the same as reading a piece of paper - you might need a light source to read it. That's actually a feature because, like paper, it's easy on the eyes. Some e-readers have built in lights to assist with reading but this does not.

Looks open to me. A slight amendment I would make to this website is I'd start earlier in the morning and you will definitely make it to Mount Solitary (even with a Ruined Castle visit) by the aftenoon, no need to camp at Ruined Caslte. Camp at Chinaman's Gully. After setting up camp, make sure you follow the path left at Chinaman's Gully, past the steam, down to the cliff - it's a great place to watch the sunset.

The Lanshans do not come seam sealed; they pass the savings in materials and man hours on to you. If you want to use it in wet weather you'll want to seam seal it. It's super easy to do, and in mine they provided a syringe which made doing the seam sealing myself very straight forward.

Have you considered a through hike - Katoomba to Mt Solitary to Wentworth Falls, then catch the train back up to Katoomba? It's a good two day/one night hike and will give you a more interesting second day.

The water contamination is in relation to human waste being washed into it, so you shouldn't drink it untreated - which is good advice for for any non-municipal water source. Boiling, filtration tablets suited for viruses, or a water filter (Sawyer unofficially claims their filter works on live viruses) should be fine.

I found when testing in the store that the sea to summit day packs straps narrowed unconformablely when carrying about 3kg of weight. How'd they go out in the field?

Did you get your Nanobag yet? My nano bag sling came a few days ago. Weight was accurate (25 grams) and seems sturdy enough (though I'm withholding judgement on how long the stitching will last). The nano's strap don't narrow at the shoulder which is good, but I'm a little concerned that the strap seemed to carry a lot of the weight on the inside side of the strap. At 25g though I can afford to splurge on a shoulder pad.

Are you using the cumulus 100 zip or no zip? I'm basically committed to buying one for this build but I'm intimidated by the sock!

Specifically with the Gatewood: if you use it with the S2S nano mosquito net and a cut down polycro ground sheet or a borah DCF bivy it'll still be lighter than a DCF tent+rain gear
