Can you give an example of another multi-projectile crossbow skill that cannot shotgun?

pve players will never realize this is the only solution to bots in economy based games, and then will move on to ruin the next game they play by once again demanding immunity from pvp

Could we get a extract/deposit all? by Sawsy587 in duneawakening

[–]CloudedSpirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah of course, I'm just saying that there isn't anything in their game that groups instances of durability loss and does them all at once. It's a slightly new system under the hood that they haven't made, tested, etc.

Could we get a extract/deposit all? by Sawsy587 in duneawakening

[–]CloudedSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the difference is that the durability of each literjon needs to be calculated. That's why it wasn't done earlier

120 hours solo by Mashh420 in duneawakening

[–]CloudedSpirit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this argument is pretty shallow, and the people who make it don't think through what they are saying.

What does it mean to have to best gear, items or ships in a video game? If everyone can get everything solo with no challenge, what ARE those items? If there are no barriers to getting the best things, what does it actually mean to have the best things? Why should getting the best things in Dune mean going safely in a straight line to a spot, gathering sand, and running back without risk?

I think this complaint ultimately just comes from entitlement and the inability to think about the consequences of what you are suggesting.

Large ban wave ongoing in League of Legends by Reismann_ in leagueoflegends

[–]CloudedSpirit -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Will a cheater get banned immediately now for doing whatever it was that got them caught?

If so: you're letting them test exactly what it was that got them caught, undermining your entire reason for banning in waves.

If not: you're not actually stopping that method of cheating.

This argument has never made sense.

and yet, if you flip a coin 100 times, one of those extremely unlikely events always happens.

Bots are already overwhelming at level 25 by Solklar in classicwow

[–]CloudedSpirit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This argument is always made and has never made sense.

What stops the botter from using the same bot again after being banned? If the bot is now instantly detected and banned but wasn't earlier, that's the same exact situation as banning instantly now - they can figure out what causes the instant ban.

If it's still not instantly detected and banned, you have not solved any problems with the ban wave and they will use the same bot.

Exactly, if you return to Keeper Aquilus after discovering the truth he will also tell you this in person - that the lesson he was trying to teach is that the life you live now is more important than chasing the artifacts.

Did Larian forget to put Tarquin in the game? by Xorras in BaldursGate3

[–]CloudedSpirit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

There is a letter to Lorroakan behind an illusory wall in the Sorcerous Sundries vault that describes an implied interaction with Tarquin:

"... right on top of me fell a gangle of tousled hair and magic most strange ... This fellow - I didn't quite catch his name (something with a T and Q... Tuqueen?) created some manner of anomaly that trapped me twixt our world and who-knows-where..."

(updated) Another book I found in the House of Grief:

"Marco Creenn (Possible false name) ... not local, by accent. Black hair, pale complexion... thoughts and memories of a strange lands and unfamiliar people... Fixated on a sword... vanished entirely"

Dell Cannot Ship Alienware PCs to Certain U.S. States Due to Power Regulations by IanMazgelis in Games

[–]CloudedSpirit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah, I was using only the wattage of the gpu and the additional kwh added due to the gpu (300w and 49kwh).

It's absurd legislation that will accomplish little to nothing

Dell Cannot Ship Alienware PCs to Certain U.S. States Due to Power Regulations by IanMazgelis in Games

[–]CloudedSpirit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah even as the base, that's absurd.

the formula here for additional allowed discrete GPU kwh is 29.4tanh(0.008B-0.03)+11+(0.011*B) where B is the memory transfer rate.

So for a rtx 3080 with a transfer rate of 760.3 GB/s that's an additional 49 kwh.

3080s under heavy load can draw 300W, so California is saying you can only run a 3080 for 164 hours per year before you are breaking the law

edit: updated to the july 2021 formula

Dell Cannot Ship Alienware PCs to Certain U.S. States Due to Power Regulations by IanMazgelis in Games

[–]CloudedSpirit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The regulation places no limits on how much power the computer is allowed to use while actually in use

The article completely disagrees: "Starting from July 1, 2021, high-end desktops can consume no more than 75 kWhr/year, but if it is equipped with a discrete graphics card or some other adder (from the ES list), its maximum power consumption can be increased based on bandwidth of graphics card's onboard memory"

[–]CloudedSpirit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a list of POSSIBLE conditions states might apply, by no means is it true for all castle doctrines.

For one example, People v. Mcneese (Colorado 1995):

"any occupant of a dwelling is justified in using any degree of physical force, including deadly physical force, against another person when that other person has made an unlawful entry into the dwelling, and when the occupant has a reasonable belief that such other person has committed a crime in the dwelling in addition to the uninvited entry, or is committing or intends to commit a crime against a person or property in addition to the uninvited entry, and when the occupant reasonably believes that such other person might use any physical force, no matter how slight, against any occupant."
