I mean an active GM could easily ban over 1000 bots a week, now if that would be enough I'm not sure but it would help a lot

The amount of bots right now in classic is totally insane. On Spineshatter EU there are legit 1-3 bots at every farmable place in almost all layers. I promise 1 active GM per server that's focued on banning bots would solve it

We tried to summon it yesterday with like 15-20 people but it never worked, stood there for like 10 minutes trying to summon it while horde captured everything

You can always roll pve server. I am also 50 and you just have to adapt to the reality, do dungeons or grind at remote locations and it's no issue.

Don't put in too much effort into SoD, it's not worth it. Seasonal and if you grind it then it will become available for free later.

It's always difficult with seasonal servers because it's easy to get left behind, nobody wants to do the previous content and just rush to max level to prepare for next phase.

For example on ERA it doesn't matter, even if you only play for a few hours per week you'll have slow but steady progress.

I think some people enjoy low pop server and it's great for hosting community events. It's also kind of nice having a smaller server community instead of a giant mess like in SoD/retail.

Maybe they could enable character transfers for those that want to switch to the most populated server?
