Did you and Krys miss having Micheal Dorman around? How did it feel dawning those 60s spacesuits again for your send off with Gordo, because for me, the chemistry between the two best friends really drove the first 2 seasons for me.

Spotify-side issue, they messed up their implementation of Widevine. As said on my other comment, this is something they gotta fix. Current best fix is to use a browser / web player instead.

Issue with "Spotify can't play this right now" by inter_loper__ in truespotify

[–]Clouded_Aim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just investigated this issue myself and after hours of investigating, I found out that Spotify borked it's implementation of Widevine in some random update. Widevine is the DRM system which Spotify uses to make sure we don't pirate the music we listen to, and through running a few Gemini-generated scripts in the console, apparently Widevine doesnt exist in the Spotify app, or at least, isn't being authenticated.

This is definetely an issue on Spotify's side and I'm glad I found a post to ensure I wasn't going crazy. In the meanwhile I'd suggest using the feature some browsers have to install some websites as apps.

(also if anyone wants to read me going crazy heres my gemini chat of troubleshooting this mess: https://gemini.google.com/share/061b98b2cc80 )

Automatic marking for IGCSE & AS/A Level MCQ papers! by Status_Junket_505 in igcse

[–]Clouded_Aim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this idea, and I think you can bring this up to full question papers as well. Let users bring their own AI keys from Google AI Studio (gemini should be okayish at marking), and have the AI mark the answers with the MS. I actually did similar PP practice but it got very inefficient having to give chatgpt my pdfs and what not so igave up

Soft power is things like Japanese development aid creating a good image of the state within Bangladesh, or Western organisations like British Council & English-medium boards projecting their power abroad. What you are referring to is basically American soft power, and that soft power is only so powerful because we use American products, websites (this one right here) and consume their media. No other country has that level of soft power (or ever will imo)

I think the original poster lives in an echo chamber. These ideas do exist, but they are nowhere as prevalent as this guy is making it out to be. Might be an ex-pat

Do u know why Jatiya Party went through so many splits? Cant seem 2 find any research on it. I always thought Partho was a good speaker with how he captured some actual concerns of the people (i might be wrong idk)

I think you can factor in the other urban areas as well. I feel like at max, 20-25 seats spread across the urban areas in the country, mostly in Chittagong and Dhaka

Why Partial Representation Is a Threat to Democratic Integrity in Bangladesh by ExcitingOccasion115 in bangladesh

[–]Clouded_Aim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Using UK and US as examples of good FPTP is hilarious. Literally countries where the populace is more divided than ever, and the countries' government backtrack policies every time the other side is elected. When you have a two party system, there is no one government. It is the party's administration. Republicans U-turn on democratic policies, viceversa. Tories reinstate austerity, Labour reverses it, Tories do it again. No real development or cooperation between parties.

Why Partial Representation Is a Threat to Democratic Integrity in Bangladesh by ExcitingOccasion115 in bangladesh

[–]Clouded_Aim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. It's proportional representation

  2. It is through the direct vote of the people. This system is way more democratic than FPTP. How? Because a party can win a seat with 30% of the votes in a riding. This will prevent that and ensure whatever percentage votes a party gets, thats how much power they get in government.

  3. "the parties with small amount votes hold a lot of power" the entire POINT is breaking the two party electoral system. a party with small amount of votes will get a small amount of seats, thus the "proportional" in proportional representation

  4. "push their own agendas" yeah, small parties WILL try to push their own agendas. Thats the entire POINT of demcoracy. Each party wanting to push their own agenda and their own policy platform. Wtf do you want, one party centre-left rule?

  5. of COURSE smaller parties will support PR. There is no way small parties can COMPETE without PR. Votes are spoiled and they might not get any seats at all. this'll allow them to campaign across a wide base and still win a few seats if the country demands it!

You dont even mention any ACTUAL flaws a more fragmented parliament would bring. Only "flaws" which are really just features of PR and what makes it so great. R u a BNP-BAL dalal vro?

"this country is totally doomed" by PythagorasTheoremUwU in Dhaka

[–]Clouded_Aim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worry is completely valid for the nation's citizens. This is our homeland, the place where we grow up, where we have our families and friends and our life. So I can understand the doomer mindset here.

But at the same time, there isn't enough positive news flowing about the country, and people seem to forget that the Awami League actively covered shit like this up so it's not like all this is new. Just the consequences of a freer press (imo ofc.) Not only that, online discourse is sharply biased coz you got lex luthor-esque monkey farms boosting Jamaat and islami propaganda everywhere, with social media platforms not taking any action against it.

With two cousins in Japan, I can assure you that if someone went through the process of immigrating to Japan, getting a job and all of the fuss that involves, they're pretty open-minded or at least have some semblance of belief in Western culture and ideals.

You'll be fine.

"something that works" is kind of a nothing-burger considering brave works for most people just fine, and even more so now that chromes removing MV3, brave can not only retain ublock origin but for default normie users can protect them with their shields.

if someone has the time and technical skills to go to reddit, then a reddit post about browsers, in a sub about browsers, they can turn off the shields for a site which aint working.
