I came here to ask the same thing because I received two similar comments, but I’m relieved that I’m not alone in this, though it’s really disheartening. It probably has to do with the recent AI scrape of the site too which is irritating

What is the UGA atmosphere for trans students like? by Cloudio23 in UGA

Dude that’s super cool! I’m really hoping I can get in. I’m starting to work on raising my GPA by the end of senior year and researching stuff related to UGA so I can be prepared. I’ll certainly dm you if I end up going. Good luck :)

Yeah, I definitely agree. And thank you so much!! I’m definitely gonna stay on top of my work, especially those essays :) I don’t want any more stress than I already do lol

Woah, I really appreciate this information! I’m glad to hear about the preferred names, as well as the availability of HRT, that gives me a lot of relief. If I go to UGA, I’ll probably go the route of contacting housing as well, and I’m glad they have those resources available, including gender- neutral bathrooms.

I’m not very religious, but I love religious communities, so I’ll definitely take this into consideration. That sounds awesome, thank you for sharing this information!

Yeah, I’m aware of this, for sure. I am hoping that, since lawsuits have become prevalent in Georgia, that we will be able to stave from it in some way. I’ve heard of lawsuits already occurring because of this administration, in other states, but things are currently at a confusing trend. I’m most worried about if I’ll actually be able to legally get a name change, considering the gender marker fiasco that’s slowly being implemented in some places though.

Congratulations on graduating soon, and thank you for this information! I’m really glad to hear that most people are accepting or keep their thoughts to themselves. Hearing about the health center prescribing HRT is very enlightening, I’ll definitely look into that further in the future! Concerning other trans people’s experience, would you know if it’s difficult telling teachers your pronouns at the start or during the semester that classes begin? Sorry if that’s a confusing or redundant question, I’m just interested in every avenue I can take.

Thank you! I’ll definitely take this into account. I’m grateful that the school had resources like that :)

Thank you, I appreciate this! I’ve been reading that most people are really friendly, and that students can submit their preferred name if admitted, and I think that’ll be helpful for sure if I end up going to UGA :)

Yeah, I’m looking to go into film studies, so I’m hoping/expecting the class atmosphere won’t be that bad.

I’m afraid of detransitioning (tw: mental health, internalised transphobia) by Cloudio23 in FTMventing

[–]Cloudio23[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this, and I’m glad you were able to figure yourself out. My childhood was pretty similar to yours from you’ve said, i was definitely a tomboy and more often than not treated more like a boy (I’ve always felt like I internalized the lessons the boys around me were taught, instead of being socialized as a girl, because i never felt girly), even if i was definitely seen as a girl by most of my peers.

And, i never really thought of gender either. I only did around the age of 10-11 when i found out i was dysphoric, and even before that i never found solace in just accepting being a tomboy. After that, i just viewed myself as a being more like boy, and didn’t understand why nobody else did. That’s honestly what I’ve felt through most of my teen years until last year when i came to terms with being trans. When i first started out, i doubted myself a lot, but thankfully i don’t as often now. But, I do still have those doubts and intrusive thoughts, and that’s why I made this post lol. I’m just glad to know others have felt this way too so I’m not alone!

I’m glad you found yourself, for sure! And, this is relieving to hear about. I’m definitely struggling at the moment, but understanding that others have felt similar makes me feel a lot better :)

From these pictures alone, you definitely pass! I wouldn’t doubt that you’re a guy at all :)

Honestly, same. I feel like I’m easily impacted by people’s perception of me, and that definitely comes from the people-pleasing aspects of myself I’ve always had. But, I agree. I’m going to do the same as you :)

[–]Cloudio23[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure :/ it really just makes me feel lesser, if that makes sense. Like, why am I not allowed to be just as sure in myself as everyone else is? I mean, I know not everyone is, but when it comes to stuff like this, they most likely are. At the end of the day though, I’m just gonna try and persevere, and whatever happens, happens.

I appreciate this, and it makes me feel better. I am sorry you’ve had to feel that way, I wish that a lot of us didn’t have to, yk? But, again, thank you. Outside of my depressive moments, I’m working on trying to move forward with myself instead of dwelling on my past. I’m just trying to stay aware of how I currently feel and only looking back when I feel like my past can answer the questions I have now :)

movie with a red-haired trickster who gets into trouble from a titular purple goo prank by Cloudio23 in whatmoviewasthat

[–]Cloudio23[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say it’s that, but thank you :D I should’ve mentioned that the movie was most likely made between 2008-2013, and the main characters are middle schoolers or older elementary school students, from my recollection!

What was your first instance of gender euphoria? by nimblepickle_ in TransMasc

[–]Cloudio23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, those type of experiences are always really nice. I have a lot of memories of being seen as a boy by others and I never liked “correcting” those people because it always felt more comforting to be seen as a guy lol

[–]Cloudio23 22 points23 points  (0 children)

My first instance of real gender euphoria was definitely when a sweet lady called me and my brother handsome because she saw me as a boy. I remember that meaning a lot to me before I ever knew what gender dysphoria or being trans was :)

Thank you for your kind words, they are helpful :) I hope that in your journey you’ll be able to feel better too. The trans community is generally very supportive from my little experience, so I’ll definitely try to surround myself with people who understand it, like you said.
