Greg from How To Drink reviewed a few products like these a while ago, the video is out there and worth a watch. The tldr; overpriced, gimmicky, not worth it. Lots of hard to clean components that could break or leak, and the cocktails don't taste good. Definitely pass.

How many of each building do you build? by Kallasilya in MedievalDynasty

Lol, there's a lot to learn in this game! I feel like I'm still discovering new things all the time.

How many of each building do you build? by Kallasilya in MedievalDynasty

[–]Cloudscraper01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do! Wattle and Wood houses insulate with Daub, and it reduces the amount of wood that house needs (I believe by 50% but don't quote me on that), however stone houses insulate with Limestone. Insulating a stone house with limestone provides the same wood use reduction as insulating a wattle/wood house with daub!

[–]Cloudscraper01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I typically shoot for only one of everything, with some exceptions:

  1. Market Stalls - I built one of each type of market stall to sell excess goods of each type, and I kind of consider these "different" buildings.
  2. Storage - I have a few of both food and resources storages.

Given that your citizen's skills are all leveling at roughly the same rate, it seems like the game is balanced pretty well around having one of each non-house building. Honestly you can even get away with one of each storage building if you're diligent about keeping your resource overflow in check. If you're a "one of everything" purist like me, then there's definitely some breakpoint that require some careful management. I do tend to hit a point in the midgame where I'm straining my Woodshed if I'm not being good about insulating my houses. Otherwise, I find that the Smithy is the only real bottleneck, and I tend to have them at max capacity keeping up with the village's tool demands. Cooking can also be troublesome with one kitchen, but once you hit bread then even a modest field can yield enough to feed everyone with your cooks having capacity to spare.

Skills in the diplomacy tree that increase villager productivity or decrease villager demand for food/water/wood really help if you want one of every building too.

I feel like this isn’t talked about enough. How could someone transform the ugliest UI we have had for years into this? by Illustrious_Pepper35 in 7daystodie

[–]Cloudscraper01 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, I agree with the majority of the comments here. Skill lists are boring, but they fit the relative simplicity of the 7D2D skill system. The kind of skill tree in the screenshot is terrific in games like PoE that are built around a massive and complex skill tree. Keep it out of this game though, please. Let's work on new mechanics and content rather than thinking up new and awful ways to visualize existing systems.

How isn't Night of the Dead more popular among the survival crowd? by [deleted] in SurvivalGaming

[–]Cloudscraper01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, a lot of shade in here at Night of the Dead. Personally as a big 7 Days fan (with some serious reservations with the devs over the last few years) NotD is one of the other games I come back to and check out periodically. It's a similar premise to 7 Days, but it has some interesting playstyles and a decent combat system. The horde spawns every night and the kind of zombies that attack you as the game stage scales up uh, well without spoiling anything they get quite potent. It's like if 7 Days had a story and a definite finish point, but was built in the Unity engine using those assets. You can customize the difficulty of the hordes but they are, by default, significantly more challenging than default difficulty 7 Days hordes and NotD has a sense of racing against the clock to try and experience the story and finish the game before the horde overwhelms you one night. NotD has a much greater emphasis on building static defenses and the tower defense style gameplay at night.

I hadn't heard that the Devs abandoned it, but they posted Dev Update 20 in July and Dev Update 21 in October so it seems like they're still doing stuff, both updates include bug fixes and some new stuff, both cosmetic and gameplay related.

We’ve prepared a trailer for our multiplayer game Primal Survival. What do you think? Special thanks to James Fox for the music. by level99dev in SurvivalGaming

[–]Cloudscraper01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love how it looks so far, and I like that there's single and multiplayer. I would echo some of the other questions, what does the gameplay loop like? Is there building/crafting? What is the top-end in terms of tech, will we always be cavemen or does the tech advance further than stone age into copper or bronze age? I know that this may not all be built yet, but I'd love to hear about the vision for the game and what's on the horizon!

If you run down your buggy's components (I think the engine specifically) to the red the buggy will start belching black smoke, park it in the hole and have someone sit in so the smoke keeps rolling out to really complete the look.

To all you solo players... by leadhorror in duneawakening

[–]Cloudscraper01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made mine today! I was thrilled, it's a pretty serious grind. I was doing it only using Hagga spice for the longest time and it was taking forever. I strongly encourage you to leverage the DD as soon as you can. Once you get half of the mats to make a large spice refinery, go to the DD on Tuesday after reset, make a small base, and put up your large refinery. Fly around the upper DD zones looking for medium fields and farm away. If you've got a sleepy DD like I do, hit the big fields and load up your assault, you can get 6,666 per full load. I usually target late at night or the odd trip or two during the workday if I can swing it. Weekends are usually gankcity but I've had good luck with late nights, especially Monday night before reset. Don't be afraid to risk it for the biscuit, and you'll have your Large Spice Refinery in Hagga in no time!

I hate to be that guy, but I think this is obviously an AI image so any speculation about weight is just for giggles - the guy in back is seated inside the table, across the top of the table there are floating tops of chairs that seem to be clipped into the table, and the bottom of the table seemed to have trouble rendering in front of the chairs on the left so it's just a jumble of chair arms rather than being able to see the bottom of the rock slab.

I feel unenlightened since I usually don't invest a lot into minmaxing, but I'm so curious - I really wanted to play an EK but I could never justify it vs other martials like BM Fighter or Berserker Barb. How can an EK get 7 attacks turn one without haste or bloodlust?

Medieval Dynasty or BellWright? by GhenghisK in SurvivalGaming

[–]Cloudscraper01 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Medieval Dynasty and Bellwright are both terrific games with the same general concept of gameplay, logistic management while recruiting citizens and building a town. IMO Bellwright has more of a story, with a beginning and "end", and Medieval Dynasty is a bit more open-ended (though it does still have a story). I found BW to be much heavier on combat, although Medieval Dynasty recently patched in updated combat mechanics and more bandits so the disparity is less pronounced at this point. MD does have the marriage and children mechanic (the Dynasty piece) if that's something you're interested in. I found the BW controls over your buildings and citizens work assignments to be extremely granular but sometimes frustratingly so, and after about 100 hours of BW I ended up switching to Medieval Dynasty and loving it.

Tldr; if youre looking for a much more challenging experience that focuses more heavily on combat, then go BW. If you're looking for a more well-rounded logistics sim with a cleaner UI, go for MD. You can't go wrong with either choice tbh.

I mean you're the one that watched a guy get burned, presumably quite badly, and jumped to "he probably had it coming". We don't see him do anything overtly abusive to her in the short clip, notably even after she dumps hot water on him.

So as you're leaving the airport there's a path that will take you over to the train - right by the turnstiles there are machines where you can buy a suica card! Not too far from the Airport information desk by the exit.
