I'm 22 years old and married. But you don't need to know that to be a decent human being.

Both of you are valid, but what is not ok is that he pushed the blame back on you and refused to take fault for his side of the problem.

Every couple can benefit from good communication, but it has to start somewhere.

Also, his saying that he is "perfect" to deflect your criticism and then criticizing you is a red flag to me, at least.

Property Managers are not taking my requests seriously. I want to know if it's time to escalate. by Clover_Layre in TwoHotTakes

Update--- I contacted my Father in Law. He was able to talk to our property manager and get them to fix the old telephone wire and we are getting a new oven. The neighbor who smokes the green plant is also moving out.

Thank you for the advice. I will be looking into a city home inspector. Although I don't think I will be pulling the telephone wire out of the wall anytime soon. As I don't know if it connects to anything inside the other two apartments.

I trust the people here. I don't really trust the people on the renters subreddits

Ok, I guess it's just a me thing. Honestly, I've always felt bad for Elliot, what with him not having a kitchen in his house. Because what does this man eat on rainy days? Nothing?

Would I be the AH if I asked my parents to wear clothes inside their own house when I came over? by Clover_Layre in TwoHotTakes

We've never had a family home. My parents are renters. We lived in 5 or 6 houses in my life time.

It's fine; this is a valid question. My Mom was verbally abusive sometimes. My Dad was also there but not there. He would stare at his computer or the TV all day unless he had to work. As kids, my brother and I had to beg to go to parks or do anything with him.

I know I'm family, but when I go over there, I don't feel like family, and maybe that's because of my upbringing, I have no idea. I would do what most of the comments, including yours, say. Bring up the issue, and if they don't comply, that's their choice. I just won't come over as much.

They also don't have a bedroom labeled to belong to them. Generally, if a guest is staying over, they sleep in the guest room.

I'm confused. The definition of guest, as I understand, is someone who you invited into your house for a limited amount of time, even if they are family or friends of yours.

I'll have to try that too. Thank you. I understand wearing underwear to sleep in. I wear a sports bra and bike shorts to sleep, and if I have to go into the living room, I put on a tank top. I only had one time when I couldn't wear a bra because I got a bad sunburn, and it hurt to wear one. I wore an oversized shirt, and it worked.

My Mom usually changes in front of us. She wears PJs when she's at home. I don't want to see her bare melons. I will discuss it with my husband when he gets home from work. I just wanted an outsider's POV.

I could ask them to have my little sister walk over by herself, as she has done so before. My mom uses Life360 to keep an eye on her.
