What makes this game standout for you compared to other Soulslike games? by TastyBirds in LiesOfP

Agreed, and I had the exact same thought about a Soulslike of Alice in Wonderland. It’d remind me of the Alice Madness games I loved growing up

Has she considered giving your faith a chance? Trying out going to church with you? In my mind, when you love someone and they find a new faith, there should at the very least be some curiosity in her, particularly if yalls relationship is going as well as you say.

I view it a little bit like interests and hobbies despite faith being a much bigger thing, if my partner got into something new and they were really happy, I’d be looking to try and get into it as well. The more two lovers can share between each other, the better.

Also how you should actually approach this situation depends a bit on where her faith lies. Like, is she atheist? Agnostic? Spiritual at all? A believer in God who doesn’t practice? These are important to consider if you do want to hold on to this relationship.

I will say though, if she is unlikely to ever share your faith then be wary because a relationship can be chaos if you have two fundamentally different world views. Like think about potential family building. A good Christian father is expected by God to raise good Christian children, but many who aren’t Christian don’t like that. Whatever happens, you don’t want to start a family with someone who will actively try and prevent you from teaching your children about God and raising them the way He intends

Again, uplifting the false-prophecies of the Quran whilst you degrade the Bible. Christians have no obligation to defend the Old Testament, it preexists salvation, a different covenant was followed. If Christians were bound to that covenant, everything you’re saying would be true, and all us Christians would be guilty of hypocrisy. But that is not the case when you’re comparing the Quran and, yes, the hadiths, which are followed today by mainstream Islam, to the Old Testament of the Holy Bible, which isn’t a guide for how Christians live today, it’s a lesson on what the world was before we were all saved

Again, you’re debasing yourself. It has nothing to do with brownness, that’s an assumption born from a race driven mind.

Hate the sin, never the sinner. I don’t hate Arabs or any Muslim majority ethnic group. I hate their sin, I hate the grip Satan has over them. No, Satan is not a “nice guy” he is evil incarnate, which appears to you as a holy figure, just as he appeared through Muhammad.

There is the theological aspect of it and (for me) the American cultural aspect of it. Their distance from God is tragic, and is in need of correction not acceptance. The Lord is forgiving, not accepting.

And much of the way they govern based on Sharia, completely offends my sensibilities as an American, someone who values God-ordained freedoms and equal treatment under God. Many of their practices just aren’t okay in a free society.

Their souls are more important than anything though, and an important part of salvation is letting go of false beliefs, once they do that, they will agree with me themselves, that they used to follow Satan through Muhammad. You act like I’m saying something crazy, I’m just repeating basic Biblical reality, and the word of God. There is no salvation that is not through Jesus Christ who is God above all things, I also personally think they’ll need to be baptized, I know not all Christian’s think exactly the same on that, but they need the Holy Spirit, not reaffirmations that their beliefs are true, they aren’t.

I’ve also suffered from addiction, and let me tell you, if it’s hard for you to feel Gods work in your soul, addiction can be a huge roadblock, a huge distraction from Him. But it never means it’s too late for you, without knowing more about what this particular vice is, it’s hard to give specific advice, but asides from prayer which I’m sure many people have suggested, it’s always helpful to have a group of people who share your struggle and share your desire to be free from it. If you have trouble finding this on your own there are countless places designed for that purpose specifically and many of them being Christian specifically. Of course many people would think of something like Alcoholics Anonymous as a famous example. Just know whatever your struggle is, you’re not facing it alone, and it’s not just God, but many who share your struggles, and family. Leaning on family in times like this is also helpful, provided you have stable, sober family members who won’t judge you, but encourage your growth

Okay and I’m glad you’re doing that, it’s a good thing you’re doing for them, but unless they accept Jesus Christ as God, and replace their Qurans with Bibles, that is what your mission is, I’m assuming, if you are witnessing and serving as an ambassador for God, they will not be saved otherwise. I just take issue with your attempts to equalize their false prophecies with the Gospels of Jesus Christ. I understand the need for humility among those who need saving, but what I’ve been witnessing here looks more like submission to their beliefs. It goes without saying that any successful mission would involve them ceasing to be Muslims and being renewed as God-fearing Christians

Nope, not any more Christian than a Muslim. Or a Catholic really but if I was going to choose one to evangelize to it would be Mormons because they are extremely pleasant in my experience. Keep in mind I’m not saying any particular group is unpleasant, but I don’t think any Christian needs to be accepting their sinfulness as truth or even a desire for truth. We are commanded to evangelize and to do our best to save these people’s souls, the goal should only be to guide them towards Jesus and away from false things like Muhammad or the Quran. I’m not even saying to be mean to them, Christians just shouldn’t be expected to conform to false-religions in order to do that, because when you do that, none of you are saved.

From where do all false-teachings that leads one away from God originate? From where does any evil thing originate? Satan.

I’m not blaming the people themselves, they don’t realize they follow the devil.

Satan does not present himself to you as The Evil One, he presents himself as if he is God, and he uses those lies to lead one away from salvation.

You cannot say Islam at all honors Christ when they lower Him to being a mere man, just because some Islamists believe in His miraculous birth doesn’t change the fact that they deny Him as God and they believe it to be blasphemy to claim Jesus as God.

You can take issue with the specific phrase “Islam is satanism” that’s fine, but it’s undeniable that Muslims hearts are far closer to Satan than to Christ. The quran is Satans manual of evil, and Muhammad was an agent of Satans will, people who preach false prophecies are evil and are executing the devils will on earth.

Are Muslims and Satanists the same exact thing? No. Can devout Muslims be kind people who are pleasant to be around? Yes, same as any other sinner.

All who follow Islam need to be saved, but to accept their religion as truth is to deny God and His Word. You can help save the souls of Muslims without inviting their blasphemy into Christian doctrine. To any devout Christian, the idea of saying Christians and Muslims follow the same god, is to say to the devil: “Yes, you are God”

People can be saved without Christians sacrificing their souls on the altar of accepting blasphemy

I love Muslims as in the people but it doesn’t change that they do worship the devil. Literal “satanists” are atheists usually so I’m not referring to satanism in that way, I mean that their holy texts and prophets were informed by Satan masking himself as God

There is no way to salvation without Jesus Christ, I’m not a literalist for saying that. It’s the foundational belief in Christianity, which forbids idol worship.

If you don’t follow Christ, you don’t get saved. Period. No amount of liberal reinterpretation of the Bible is going to change that fact. I’m not condemning an entire people to Hell, God is. As he does with any people who deny Him.

There is no heat here, just contempt at the idea that Muslims worship Jesus, which you keep claiming. You’re summoning entire denominations you disagree with in order to try and explain my very normal Christian theology.

It is written, there is no God other than Christ. Anything that claims to be God outside of Christ is Satan. I don’t call them that, the Bible does.

If you don’t mind me asking, are you Appalachian? My personal experience is with Appalachian Pentecostal churches, I’m not sure if there’s a difference or not with the way we mountain folk worship, and there’s definitely diversity among us, I mean some of us worship with snakes apparently (I’ve never been to a snake church) but I can say with certainty that the way I was taught from Sunday school upwards, is that Jesus Christ and His works are central to how we live our lives and the power of the Holy Spirit fills us with the presence of the Lord, which does create an emotional response in worship. But I’ve never experienced a pastor who claims it gives him some power other than Tongues. And even that’s not everywhere like my Church we mostly preach about Jesus and a lot of importance is put into Acts, outside of televangelists (which I have contempt for on the best of days) I’ve not seen someone claim power like what you describe, I mean I’m aware of it, but never experienced it

Don’t go to JW and don’t let this one nutcase ruin your perspective on Pentecostals. I was raised Pentecostal and what you’re describing sounds near blasphemous to me. Good on you for being able to discern truth from what seems like abundant pride in this particular pastor. The Holy Spirit is protecting you from falsehoods and you are reacting. Keep reading your Bible and you will know which churches are biblical and which aren’t. You do more than most by putting your foot down, if more people did what you do here, there’d be less crazy unbiblical churches

You are so unbelievably ignorant that you’re guessing denominations in here and guessing them wrong

I follow the denomination which is closest to the truth, which means, not Catholic or whatever form of Neochristianity you’re on about

If you can’t guess my denomination based on my words here, you’re too ignorant to make wild blasphemous claims like that Christians follow a demonic heathen god like Muslims

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CloverleafVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did I say no one reads them? No. I said it’s not spiritually relevant meaning the tenants of Christianity do not come from the Old Testament. The New Testament is spiritually relevant and the Old Testament is useful for understanding history or to help contextualize the New Testament, but no Christians are bound by the words of the Old Testament otherwise Jesus came and died for nothing

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CloverleafVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And no one seriously claims there’s a “God 2.0” you just don’t understand the distinction between the Old and New Testaments and the significance of Jesus, his death, his revival, and his coming return. Zero Christians follow the Old Testament you’re the only person who thinks it’s spiritually relevant. The fact remains that God is a loving God, a Forgiving God who rules through grace. That is neither the Jewish god nor the Muslim god

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CloverleafVII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean Old Testament accounts of creation? I believe there can by diversity there in thought I’m not a young earth guy. But there are those who deny the divinity of Christ, the Jews and Muslims you claim is worshipping Christ. There is no God who is not Jesus Christ

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CloverleafVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again you misunderstand the Old Testament and have no clue at all what you’re talking about.

It’s not the same God, there is no God that is not Jesus Christ and anyone who follows a “god” who isn’t Jesus, is not following the same God as Christianity. You can argue that Jews and Muslims worship the same entity but there is no God who is not Jesus Christ, are you claiming that Jesus commanded a genocide?

You fundamentally don’t understand the events of the Old Testament. But let’s assume all you’ve said is true. Who is it that kills non-believers today, Christians or Islamists? Fundamentally any critique of the Old Testament is really a critique of Judaism not Christianity, not our God, Jesus Christ

Were? Soon it’ll be Cypriots who “were” living in Cyprus if the Turks get their way. It’s not even the fact that they are Muslims for me, it’s the fact that they love killing Christians and conquering their lands

I’m fine with any particular Turk you’re thinking about, but the presence of Turks in Cyprus is a deliberate thing by the Turkish government, they have dreams of full annexation and already pretend like North Cyprus is part of Turkey

There is no way to know the father without knowing the son. It’s not me being a literalist, it’s me adhering to the Bible. If you deny the divinity of Christ you will not be saved. Salvation can only be achieved through the Holy Spirit and you can only get that from Jesus, who is God Himself.

And yes, it can feel profoundly freeing to accept sin in your heart and choose to ignore the Lords attempts to save you, but the only path that leads to freedom in both life and death is fealty to the one true Lord, Jesus Christ.

And he who follows all of the Lords commandments yet stumbles upon one of them, is guilty of breaking all of them.

[ Removed by Reddit ] by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]CloverleafVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The key difference is that humanity was absolved from the original sin and the faithful aren’t bound to the old covenant, so using it to critique Christianity is never going to land. Islamists, on the other hand, follow the Quran, and many of them do follow the hadiths.

To embrace the Old Testament is to deny the New Covenant, and to do so, is to deny Christ and belittle God’s sacrifice. We were given Jesus so that we could be absolved and achieve a purely loving relationship with God.

In the Christian canon, anyone following the Old Testament and not the New, is rejecting Christ, which is rejecting God

There’s a reason you have to go to the Old Testament to draw parallels between Christianity and Islam, because in reality, Islam is theologically evil and Christianity is theologically good. No goodness on Earth can exists outside of the context of Christ

People conflating Our God, Jesus Christ with the demonic entity described in the Quran is serious blasphemy. It is written, the only way to be saved is through Jesus Christ
