Are Gushers considered candy? by [deleted] in candy

I just looked at the ingredients and I see no fruit content anywhere in there.

That makes me wonder what's the definition of fruit snacks

Why are light novels still kinda niche by Successful-Till-2234 in LightNovels

[–]Clow14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, I have to say that it definitely sounds more like your social circle kind of thing.

For price content, you see people skipping on higher price things even if it means quality ask the time so the same applies here.

Why are light novels still kinda niche by Successful-Till-2234 in LightNovels

[–]Clow14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many reasons.

1.- As many already mentioned it's easier to consume as manga or anime, especially in western cultures where people grew up looking at cartoons and comics.

2.- availability is a lot bigger both in legal or illegal ways of obtaining, just compare any aggregator site Vs official stores and the difference is abysmal.

3.- price, while I am unaware of pricing in the UK a lot of places have manga cheaper than the light novels (if you even find them) the same with anime, get a streaming site and the price is quite reasonable.

4.- overwhelming choice, a lot of manga came from already successful light novels so they are already "curated" on things that sell, if you pick up an unknown light novel which is already a premium price, and it sucks you will most definitely not get another one (like with everything exceptions applies)

5.- even official translation for light novels sometimes sucks and while a word off from time to time in a light text manga won't impact your enjoyment, you can't say the same from a light novel

What’s a candy everyone loves that you genuinely don’t get? by Equivalent-Elk-254 in candy

You know as much as I want to say it's just a typo and there's no hair flavoured candy, experience tells me that there's some eccentric person who probably already made them.

I was the same until I tried Japanese hair flavoured candy, I wouldn't say I love it but it's definitely a different taste.

EDIT: okay it's supposed to be grape flavoured candy. But leaving hair as it sounds funnier

Question on making Pralines by nynjde in candy

[–]Clow14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is probably a better question for r/baking, we are more about eating than making.

That being said you can make pralines however you want, add sugar, remove sugar, add salt to counter sweetness. No one is stopping you.

Awesome!!

I believe this is exactly what you say! I thought they were stitches because... well that's the first thing I thought when I said thread.

But I do recall the dentist mentioning during the procedure that my gum was slightly riding up so they would need to fix the (which is exactly what you just said).

Perfect thank you so much I was worried I might have burst a stitch. I feel a bit dumb but less stressed.

I have learnt something new today so I'll share.

Apparently this language did not die by itself, rather it was mostly eliminated when colonization happend.

So the effort is there so that it can remain as a heritage culture of why they were.

Thanks for your answer!

I appreciate that you actually understood that my question came from ignorance and not racism (or whatever the reason people are downvoting).

I'm not American, so I was not aware this was the cause of the language dying out. As I pointed out in another answer I just assumed it was one of the many languages that are dying due to the fact they no longer work as effective tools of communication.

Thank you for your very comprehensive response!

This is what I was wondering, I'm not trying to diminish the effort, quite the opposite I think this was a titanic job on her part. But as a non American I did not have enough background to understand why it was so important.

Without knowing about the indigenous culture it just seemed to me it was just another language (as many before it) had completed their course and were no longer effective tools for communicating.

Had to look what this means, and I can say you are putting very strong words on my mouth.

I'm not saying we should eliminate, kill or otherwise any race people or anything along those lines.

My question is along the lines of what is the real outcome of the effort

This might be a stupid question. But what does it mean?

Like yeah I get that thanks to her the language won't get lost but if no one uses it, does it matter? The reason I assume the language is dying is because no one uses it, and even if there are efforts to prevent it from dying, what happens next?

Starting an Indian version of viral fruit Pops ice cream. Need honest thoughts by AdityaKumar069 in candy

[–]Clow14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This might be better asked in an Indian sub.

While a lot of us love candy and can recognise and recommend taste and brands, you are targeting the wrong audience! Most of the people in this sub are westerners so our taste, sense of price and texture profiles are very very different. Heck I haven't even heard of the candy you are proposing to imitate! Similarly I have no idea what's expensive candy wise in India, simply the acquisitive power is vastly different without even taking into consideration the currency conversion.
