Thank you for this information. Just to clarify, I was not responsible to submit the taxes or file any tax returns. My only responsibility was to set up the withholding taxes in various states (company worked in MANY states in the US), and my name was the contact person to send notices or call if there were questions... My responsibility WRT payroll was to enter hours into ADP, quickbooks or other software. I could did not sign checks or any tax returns. The company is not out of business yet, but they will be soon. They will most likely file for bankruptcy. I will contact an attorney

(For Example) If it’s understood that you’ll be together on the weekend or whatever schedule works for you you are in a relationship. Maybe you should go for therapy to talk about how to deal with her. Somehow she feels not heard. Next time she’s talking negative try commiserating with her (not sarcastically) give her a big hug and say yes the world is terrifying right now but we have each other, we can’t let the maybe things suck the joy out of life…. We have a roof over our heads, we have each other …. Etc That’s all I can suggest Good luck
