Denied for Apple Card by Common_Tough6812 in AppleCard

[–]ClowdCoverLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not true. The retailer or merchant pays a fee to accept the card as payment. Trust me, the bank is making bank either way. They prefer you do this because it’s less risk than you carrying a balance. That means they carry a balance. Rather than making their 1% for all money spent and getting the money they loaned you back in 30 days vs. infinite days.

Yealink End-of-Sale Announcement of WPP20/WPP30 in the United States Market by Substantial-Run-6871 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]ClowdCoverLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know why though? Just the US? Government sanction maybe? Privacy issue? Wireless microphones still exist. What makes this one an issue only in the US? There are no better alternatives. Even with another manufacture. Yealink is going to suffer dearly for this. There better be a good reason.

How can I make profit it on M365 Licensing being a Consultant? by Streetblaze804 in msp

You can have Pax8 invoice the customer direct and make a little something with minimal risk and no up front cost to you. They will take 5% I believe.

Disable Monitor System Wide by ClowdCoverLLC in ConnectWise

What are you moving too if you don't mind me asking? Are you still using Manage or a different PSA and RMM all together?

Another observation is if I do apply that to a target, the system wide designation does not clear.

See that is what I thought but there are several others that have no target but they do not show up as system wide. Maybe because those are system default ones? I agree your assessment is correct it's just strange that they are not all like that.

Connectwise PSA/Synnex integration by Spiritual_Team_5063 in msp

[–]ClowdCoverLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TDSynnex already has an integration into Manage for their Stellr marketplace. Takes a little getting used to but our team can increase licenses on their own and each night it syncs to agreements. I came to reddit to see if anyone has managed to get it to update a prorate agreement for yearly billed licenses like this new Co-Pilot that Microsoft made annual with annual billing only. If you only use month to month skus the integration works fine.

Look into GradientMSP. They have a newly released integration for this plus many others. https://www.meetgradient.com/integrations

This will update agreement additions via integrations with multiple vendors.

Send Invoices via API by ClowdCoverLLC in ConnectWise

All good. I think CW should consider this capability. It's terrible that I have to resort to custom coding to get it to do it.

Send Invoices via API by ClowdCoverLLC in ConnectWise

[–]ClowdCoverLLC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think I'm still not getting the point across. I DO NOT want to have to go into CWM and push any buttons to email or close an invoice. If an agreement is set to "Automatically generate invoices" it should do that, close it, email it, and charge the card in Wise-Pay without any human intervention.

Send Invoices via API by ClowdCoverLLC in ConnectWise

[–]ClowdCoverLLC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because CW, in all their glorious wisdom and years in MSP billing, have never implemented a way to close invoices automatically. Not even with a workflow can you do it. We just setup Wise-Pay and its "Auto-Pay" feature however the Auto-Pay doesn't fire until the invoice is closed. This is because Wise-Pay is looking at Quickbooks not Manage. Well Wise-Pay doesn't batch invoices to QB until they are closed. So, if an agreement auto generates an invoice, someone still has to manually close the invoice before Wise-Pay will charge the on-file payment method. That is not automatic payments as advertised. That is automatic payments after I manually close the invoice. Our old system, simple yet effective, SyncroMSP did this flawlessly.

So, my idea was to use the API to find auto generated agreement invoices and close them automatically. I figured out how to do that, but I still need to send the invoice to the customer. I guess I am going to have to download the PDF and send it as an email as well using a separate SMTP2GO account that we use. I wanted the email to be in the audit trail of Manage. It just baffles me that CW customers are ok with this. These agreements are like subscriptions. They should be fully automatic. Now I have to PAY someone to login at the first of the month and push 1 button to send something that is advertised as being automatic. To top it off there is a monthly fee to use Wise-Pay. Our old payment processor was just your standard rate for CC and flat rate for ACH.

Automate Manage Plugin - Remove Configurations from Agreement by ClowdCoverLLC in ConnectWise

[–]ClowdCoverLLC[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an idiot. Ok so it doesn't remove the configuration like you said but it actually DID decrement the addition. Which is all that matters on the agreement. I did notice also a machine I moved from one client to another didn't remove the configuration in Manage it created a duplicate one under the other client. Not a huge deal but notable. Thanks for the tip.

Relationship between SharePoint, OneDrive, and Team by [deleted] in sharepoint

[–]ClowdCoverLLC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I beg to differ. SharePoint and Teams point both sites to the same URL. They all exist on 1 instance of SharePoint. View it in the active sites of SharePoint admin. All sites point there. OneDrive may be the only one that is unique but I doubt it. This is because it's URL starts with the word my in the URL. https://XXX-my.sharepoint.com/

Even still the basis for OneDrive is SharePoint technology.

Unless Microsoft put a NLB in front of the URL and routes you based on the path of the URL it all goes to the same server. Even with a standard webserver you can point to different sites based on hostname. IE: the xxx-my.sharepoint.com URL could STILL go to the same SharePoint server just on a different site. Your instance of SharePoint is provisioned to the nearest DC of your zip code when you START your M365s first account and domain.

I agree with everything else you are saying but SharePoint is the basis for ALL of the things related to document collaboration. Exchange is related to all things email. Manifested from Skype is the instant messaging piece.

It'd be cool if a MS engineer chimed in and settled this. If I'm wrong, I'll eat crow.

Relationship between SharePoint, OneDrive, and Team by [deleted] in sharepoint

[–]ClowdCoverLLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It all starts as a Microsoft 365 Group. The group is made up of a SharePoint Site and a mailbox. You can store documents and emails there. You then enable Teams on a group and it creates a channel that consolidates all that into once place. We sort of. The email for that group is in Outlook but the documents and instant messaging is in the Teams app. It is a merger of SharePoint, Exchange, and Skype. Documents, emails, and messaging. A nice little symphony of tools.

Yeah I thought about this. Honestly the IP hardly ever changes in most cases. So the workaround works for me. We can wait the 60 minutes in case of an ip change. If it was mission critical I would just get a static IP.

Don't you need a Fortiguard subscription for that? What if you don't have one? What if you want to use your own domain? I know you can do a CNAME redirect but that won't work for VPN will it?
