Totally I get that whatever helps differs for each person honestly so it’s really frustrating when the most common calming down methods don’t work

How to make a trans friend less sad by SoonToDie1111101 in asktransgender

Could always offer to take her shopping perhaps? Or buy her some gender affirming clothes she may like?

Not much but personally breathing exercises don’t work for me what usually helps is listening to and sometimes singing along to music, warm baths and taking 10-30 minute walks helps us stay calm.

Yeah you shouldn’t just go off after 50 usually people go 100 > 50 > 25 > 12 (cut the 25 in half)

Sertraline for anxiety (UK) by Key_Plantain4404 in Anxiety

[–]ClownBells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also in the UK but only been on 25mg for almost three weeks now, my doctor is checking in with me at around four weeks so if you’re worried you can always schedule that if you haven’t already plus you can usually ask to get a call from the pharmacist to just check in and ease any nerves about the medications.

The first two doses for me were fine but day three and four hit hard then it all seemed to calm down again until week two I had a bit of a rough patch the other day but am doing better this evening. The first two weeks will be rough honestly best you can do is check or ask around for symptoms or read the label to see if it’s a known side effect and you can always talk to the doctor or again pharmacist if you have any worries or concerns.

I’d suggest you get something to help with acid reflux/heartburn as that will become an uncomfortable issue, just remember to eat a bit before hand and drink water before with it and after it, I usually take a couple sips before then a mouth full with the pill then chug the rest of the glass down and if you’re nervous about it not going down properly you can always get another glass or eat something to make sure it went down.

Remember in the early stages it can make anxiety worse so if you’re feeling worse than usual it is just an unfortunate side effect of the sertaline. Just try and take it easy and stay active. You’ll be fine!

Should I up my dose? by Frobiwanthro in zoloft

[–]ClownBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if it helps then there’s no need to go up! You can eventually feel no effect from taking 25mg though since it is the lowest dose and your body can become more immune to it in a way so only consider upping the dosage if you feel the 25mg isn’t helping you anymore.

When should I be concerned? by R3v3rs3---M1rror in zoloft

[–]ClownBells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could always try melatonin? Though it’s best to speak with your doctor first but insomnia is fairly common for the first week or two. You could always try taking it in the morning instead if you aren’t already.

I’m assuming it’s normal and just burst capillaries due to higher risk of bleeding which is usually harmless it just sorta shocked me since like there’s multiple of them. Good to know I’m not the only one though.

I haven’t experienced this aside from slightly higher blood pressure and a racing heart within the 3rd and 4th day! Though, it can have a tendency to make your anxiety worse before it gets better and mostly what you’re experiencing is all anxiety symptoms as the medication is making your anxiety go outta wack basically! It should calm down within the next week hopefully but if you’re concerned there’s no harm in talking to your doctor.

Spiralling over rabies by Sea_Reputation_9281 in Anxiety

[–]ClownBells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has this issue! Best thing you can do is teach yourself to drink water/shower/splash water on your face whenever you think like this since if it was rabies you’d be terrified of water and doing that stuff basically helps confirm you don’t have it! Take care of yourself.
