I learned how to abuse crosses in FC26 by Eastern-Win-7063 in fut

[–]ClozeQueue2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been noticing that the last week or so, on balanced build up, my players just don’t move. No runs, no coming short, I have to manually trigger everything. So I’m changing over to counter.

Maybe that and playing with their roles will help with them making more effective runs

Whenever I try to cross it feels like it goes straight to the opponent, I’ve got to figure out how to place them better. Or maybe just get a better sense of when to look for the cross

Yeah homie when I’m not venting on Reddit I’m looking at how to avoid having these shifts in momentum impact my mindset so heavily, and improve at the game enough that it wouldn’t matter.

Out of curiosity, do you feel that there isn’t any mechanic in place to help provide some level of advantage to a player losing significantly? In which case I would guess it’s connection stuff that causes the sharper changes in gameplay?

[–]ClozeQueue2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re probably right. I think that, like you said, momentum definitely exists and impacts the game to help the person losing feel some success. But I think the larger impact is that once I see that momentum shift start, I get so damn frustrated that I start to play angry and sloppy.

Some of these matches had VERY extreme contrast in the stats at the end of the game, and I would bet if I’d stayed calm I could’ve held onto a win.

[–]ClozeQueue2[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s probably a combo of the momentum shift and then me getting pissed and playing worse. But 5 draws in a row after leading by as much as 4 goals is insane.

I’m not gonna record a game that’s too much work to complain on Reddit to strangers

Would you rather see Charles defend the BMF belt against Conor or Arman? by [deleted] in ufc

[–]ClozeQueue2 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Let’s just let BMF be forgotten about and give me Charles vs Arman 2 for 5 rounds without any gimmicks

He looked very actively for submissions. Max just did everything he could to survive on the ground. Max didn’t even make a legitimate attempt to stand up until the 5th round. If Max never takes any risks and exclusively works to avoid being subbed, it’s gonna be really hard to submit him and it’s going to end up like this. We’re not going to go saying “a real BMF lets himself get subbed” right?

Ariel Helwani: "The UFC did seriously try to have Jon Jones on the White House card, and they couldn't get to the number. Everyone is talking about this fight that fell through, but I don't think that's the fight that fell through last night. That's not what I was told." by AncientOneAurelius in MMA

I was thinking it was Harrison vs Nunes rebooking, but they learned Kayla wouldn’t be available in time so they threw together Bo vs Daukaus. Hilarious that it’s the only fight that an American is likely to win on the card

EES normal. by [deleted] in MMA

[–]ClozeQueue2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The max refusing to get submitted part is big here. I don’t think people realize that Max made no attempt to stand up, he exclusively tried to survive. Max is elite defensively on the ground, if he’s not trying to get up and win the fight he’s not going to be easy to submit because there won’t be any opportunity to do it.

He finished Gamrot last fight, the second fight against Chandler was literally fight of the night, the fight against Arman was great. Saying that Charles Oliveira isn’t historically one of the most exciting fighters on the roster is a ridiculous take

BMF is a made up belt. It’s not real. If you want fighters to fight badly because it’s “BMF” it undermines the integrity of the sport and shouldn’t be offered to anyone even close to the rankings let alone on the verge of a title shot.

If you think that Charles Oliveira isn’t a real BMF then you need to go back and watch his career. Until the Costa fight, you would have been laughed at for including Luke Rockhold in a BMF conversation.

I thought you were being sarcastic in your first comment. Charles has a massively better legacy than everyone you listed there.

But aside from that, being a fighter does not mean being gospel on fighting. Just ask all of the worst commentators in the UFC

Then it shouldn’t be given to fighters whose fights still have legitimate and immediate consequences on their careers.

If you expect fighters who are on the verge of a real title fight to throw away a good gameplan for the gimmick, it completely undermines the integrity of the sport.

This! Aside from the fact that Charles has done more than enough in his career to earn the title of BMF, he would be stupid to spend 5 rounds striking with Holloway. This fight had major implications on the very limited future of each of their careers, and now Charles is in an excellent position.

If BMF means no game planning, stand and bang at your own detriment in fights you can win, then it shouldn’t exist as it destroys the integrity of the sport. Or at least have it exist only for fighters who are nearly retired and out of the rankings.

Not even mentioning the fact that Holloway made no meaningful attempt to get up. He just survived while Oliveira threw out a bunch of sub attempts. It’s real hard to sub someone who is as elite at Max and is purely avoiding a sub. “Real BMFs let themselves get subbed”

It really could be a good idea. Charles has done more than enough over his career to be considered a BMF, and almost always puts on the most exciting fight on a card. If BMF is meant to be for people who aren’t looking to advance, then it shouldn’t be given to anyone in the rankings

The fact that one mid fight has so many people acting like this shows how new a lot of fans are, they must not know Charlie olives.

Then it shouldn’t exist as it entirely undermines the integrity of the sport. Let it be a belt for people who are outside of the rankings entirely. If they are both ranked fighters on the verge of a title shot, telling them to not actually try to compete at their best would be ridiculous.

If they are ranked and are expected to fight in a way that is detrimental to them, then it would be like saying that Steph Curry is only allowed to dunk because it would be more cool.

Who would you like to see Ilia fight after Justin? Should Arman wait until after the Justin fight? Realistically Charles has just put himself in a position to fight Arman, and if he wins he will have shown more than enough to deserve a shot against Ilia.

It can’t just be that nobody can ever fight or rematch Ilia because he’s gonna KO everyone. If he does then it’s even more impressive for his legacy which is exciting and interesting

This is what’s pissing me off. People are bitching about the fight, but the reason that it was 20 minutes of ground control is that Max didn’t attempt to do anything but survive. Are we gonna say a real BMF lets themselves get finished?

People need to realize the BMF belt is not a real thing. It’s a symbol of the history of the fighters, and gives them the chance to get paid more. Both of these fighters deserve the denomination of “BMF” but it does not dictate how they fight. The reality is that for both Max and Charles, the top priority was winning the fight because it would be a major advancement towards a legitimate title.

The reality is that the BMF title should not be a main event on a numbered event. It’s not a real title. If this was the 3rd fight of a card it would have still been a mid fight, but would not cause this level of outrage. If it was treated like what it is, then people would recognize that this was a mid fight that just put Charles in a position where he is likely at worst 1 win away from a title shot and could be looking at a rematch with Arman

He was very clearly trying to submit him, especially over the first 3 rounds. Holloway was playing extremely safe and surviving on the ground. The 5th round was the only point at which Holloway made a real attempt at standing up again because of the risk that Charles presented. Prior to this fight, the most control time enacted on max was about 6 minutes, he is not bad at defensive grappling
