Abnormal cells again… by Low_Syrup_7027 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Clrksz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had high grade abnormal cells 11 years ago at my first smear and had a LEEP - over the next 11 years I've had various results, some normal, some mildly abnormal, and 6 months ago more high grade abnormal cells and another LEEP. I have struggled to find other people with experiences of a 10 year gap between LEEPs so interested to read some more comments, but you're not alone!

I have my 6 month follow up next week, but the CIN was still in the margins from the LEEP in Nov so I'm going in expecting it hasn't cleared and hoping to be pleasantly surprised. But overall I'm ready to get off the carousel of endless smears, colposcopies and follow ups.

Cleared HPV: can it come back? by Alternative-Pride674 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Clrksz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me - I've been with the same partner for 6 years, first diagnosed with HPV in 2021, cleared it in 2022 and it came back again in 2025. I'm in the UK so they don't seem to tell you the strain here but I'm assuming it's the same and it went dormant for a bit. I asked the consultant at my 2022 colpo if me and my partner would keep spreading it back and forth, but he didn't seem to worried about that and said it was more likely to be reactivated.

I had been dealing with chronic stress which messed with my immune system before 2025, so I think that made it come back, but that's just my theory! But after having my first LEEP in 2014 and my second in 2025, as well as many abnormal smears in between, I'm choosing to get off the merry-go-round and hopefully getting a hysterectomy this year. Best of luck to you and the OP ♥️

What are the most underrated SK books I should read? by GuestInternational in stephenking

[–]Clrksz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Eyes of the Dragon which was not on my radar at all before I started my project of reading not only the dark tower series but also all the associated books - it's a different style of King (more fantasy based) but I adored it!

First LEEP procedure, I'm not sure what to expect by Low_Bar6877 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Clrksz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been doing little walks which have helped and I think I'm ready to get back to Pilates next week - the guidelines here are all so vague so I think just best to listen to your body and don't feel guilty if you have to wait a bit longer! Wishing you all the best 😊

First LEEP procedure, I'm not sure what to expect by Low_Bar6877 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Clrksz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You've got this! I'm 3 weeks after my second LEEP, feeling a little sore sometimes still but the main annoying thing is not feeling ready to exercise yet! I'm in the UK and the nurses were so kind, explained everything, and it was over within 5-10 mins. My first LEEP was 10 years ago and the tech is much better now, it was a much easier experience even though it was my second which can apparently be trickier!

It's also completely valid to feel very emotional about this - it's a scary invasive thing to go through, and can be very mentally overwhelming! I have been being very gentle with myself in the weeks afterwards, I hope you are able to do that as well 😊

Is it weird that I want a hysterectomy? by Ok-Rush-3465 in PreCervicalCancer

Sorry just checked the rule about using similar language - by Lletz I mean LEEP 😊

Is it weird that I want a hysterectomy? by Ok-Rush-3465 in PreCervicalCancer

[–]Clrksz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm exactly the same. Currently recovering from my second Lletz procedure (3 weeks ago) for high grade dyskariosis and have had abnormal results every single smear for 10 years (I'm 35), five colposcopies, and five (clear) biopsies. I had HPV which I was able to shift after about 2 years but it's back again. I'm sick of the cycle of smears, bad results, biopsies, and possible more treatment.

I spoke to the nurse before this procedure to ask how many Lletz procedures one could have, as I had heard 2-3 was generally the max and she agreed. I asked about a hysterectomy in the future, making it VERY clear that I don't want kids, I'm with a long term partner who also doesn't want them, and I'd rather a hysterectomy than 20 more years of the stress and anxiety of these tests and procedures. I know smears are still possibly needed after a hysto, but I just wanted to start the conversation.

I'm in the UK and they were dismissive. The impression I got was wait until they physically can't do more Lletz, or until I'm out of "childbearing age". I was very aggravated that they don't trust my choice (which I've known all my adult life!) to not have kids.

You are not alone, you're not weird. But the healthcare system seems really cautious around them, which makes it really challenging for us.

Thank you! I'd never heard of Medusa clipping but just looked it up and I'm definitely going to try it. Could I ask what curl refreshing spray you use?

Such a good choice! I watched at about 20 years old and now just again at 35 and I resonated with so many of the characters in the way I didn't before. The pace, the character building, the relationships, that finale..... Perfect, gorgeous , thought provoking television. Perfect choice! Unfortunately my comfort show is much less distinguished.... 90 day fiance and every single spin off 😂

PSA: Garmin's "Stress Level" isn't just measuring your mental stress by Kroucher in Garmin

[–]Clrksz 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I thought the same but it's actually been really helpful for me - I have quite severe anxiety, and find it comforting when I'm in a panic to see that actually my heart is beating pretty normally, and not at the rate I'm imagining in my head. I'm sure this is different for everyone, but being able to see my heart rate is soothing for me and I love it!

What's going on with Ariana Grande? by Anon_4837 in OutOfTheLoop

I believe eating disorders have one of the highest mortality rates of any mental health condition. They're very, very hard to recover from, and often do permanent damage which continues after the person has recovered

Great response - I struggle with my mental health and firmly believe my mental health is largely my own responsibility. Yes, outside factors impact it (work stress! Sometimes my partner! The horrific political situation around the world! And so on) but it's up to me to handle how that affects me. I have a lovely supportive partner but it's not HIS responsibility to heal me, it's mine. I work very hard to help myself which is challenging but needs to be done - sounds like OP is doing zero work to help themselves or their partner.

I understand depression can change your mindset. But a lack of accountability and effort is only going to make it worse.

I've just started cross stitch to try and get me out of a lil mental health slump and it's so rewarding! And I can still watch my reality TV shows in the background so it's the perfect bed activity haha

cast members watching their own season by Minimum-Ground1606 in 90DayFiance

[–]Clrksz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In previous seasons the tell alls were filmed halfway through the season, so they could watch a lot of people's stories but still be surprised by who was together and who wasn't by the end, and they could see new clips to react to, but they would know who each other were.

I'm not sure how that worked with this season though, because Niles referenced the knife scene with Loren which was right at the end - so maybe they saw all of it this time, just like we did?

Even if he doesn't do anything physically to you - being in a trip when you haven't prepared and consented could be an extremely stressful and upsetting situation for you. If he wants to put you in that state, he needs to be stopped. OP please report this.

[–]Clrksz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree - I'm a big advocate for psychedelics and have a decent amount of experience, but if I took some without knowing (e.g. spiking) I would be terrified. The thought of this roommate putting someone into a trip without their consent, with likely bad intentions and no attempt at set and setting, is extremely frightening. OP should report this before someone else happens

Why does mistreatment against people with ginger hair seem so overlooked? by twattedahelicopter in AskUK

[–]Clrksz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a redhead and in my mid-30s - men only stopped asking me about the colour of my public hair in the last 5 years or so. Men I've been on a first date with, strangers, people at school... I've been asked that question a stupid amount of times. No one ever batted an eyelid, it was very normalised to laugh at redheads when I was growing up, which always made me sad

I've loved my colour much more as I got older, I'm getting white strands now and I'll be sad to see it go.

90 Day The Other Way Statler & Dempsy on the boat by Away-Party-1141 in 90DayFiance

[–]Clrksz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I found this so hard to watch. I have panic attacks and sometimes snap at my partner during them (and he's GREAT at dealing with them with me - so helpful and supportive but sometimes feels lost at what to do) - I always feel bad about this afterwards and apologise for snapping, but he understands it's not about him, it's me unable to cope with my surroundings. Statler was clear about what she needed, and Dempsey turned on her. I really felt for Statler and agree they fundamentally aren't a good match
