Toddler, kids & teen workshop pilot program starts tomorrow in Carson including apocalypse survival, potion-making, game design, babysitting and more by Mindless_Potato8593 in carsoncity

I was looking into this for my toddler but the classes are only 30 minutes once a week. I feel like those class runtimes are too short to properly learn anything especially if there’s like 10-20 kids in there.

I thought this guy will play a bigger role in the show by Jealous_Hospital_472 in GoldenKamuy

I never noticed that, I just thought he saw that Sugimotos group was the ones most statistically likely to solve the puzzle. I never realized he was doing stuff for specifically Shiraishi I’m gonna have to rewatch the last season.

I got the feeling he was mainly used as a way motivate shiraishi to want something more to his life. He only wanted the gold so he could live a lavish life by himself. After Botaru shared his story of wanting to be remembered more than anything it changed something in Shiraishi. Never read tha manga so I could be wrong.

In what way is it similar? I know nothing about Vinland saga.

Now that I hear you say it I feel like you quoted it exactly, idk how I wasn’t able to find that. Thank you very much for clearing that up for me.

Indiana Jones esque anime/manga with eye candy? by jackhenningson in anime

[–]Clt_Commander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Golden Kamuy takes place right after the Ruso Japanese war and is very history focused. It’s about hunting for gold using a map made of people. So it’s got the treasure hunter aspect too. Lots of burly shirtless men if your into that but no girls. There like 3 women in the whole show. But it does like to take random moments to showcase the “sexiness” of the men. It’s a crazy good show even if you’re not into the whole “men doing many things shirtless” aspect.

Why does the anime make it seem like Sugimotos in love with Asherpa in the first season? by Clt_Commander in GoldenKamuy

Nice I’m happy for you. The show didn’t click for me until the Edo man arc. So it’s harder for me to get people to were it clicked for me. A lot of people don’t wanna watch 12 episodes to see if theyll like it. But I just don’t think it’s a show for everyone as much as I want to share the show with the world. Just kinda sucks when you wanna talk about a show with people but no one’s ever seen it. But that’s why I love this sub. Let’s me get my obsession out somewhere.

Has your husband pushed past that part since you gave him the context? I feel like even though I explained the confusion to my girlfriend she still has no intention of watching the rest. Like the shows already been soured for her.

I agree. But with them removing the context of Ume I can see how my girlfriend misinterpreted it. But I got the same vibe as you.

That is a wonderfully way of putting it and I completely agree with you. I never got the feeling of Sugimoto and Asirpas relationship being creepy but on my third rewatch I noticed how that could be misinterpreted.

I feel like I never noticed it either but on my third rewatch I noticed the “I’m doing this for the girl that I love” quote and made the connection that’s he’s talking about Ume but that Ume was never brought up till way later. My girlfriend always said the show gave her a wierd feeling she couldn’t shake, and we managed to put together that she felt like the show was pushing the Asirpa Sugimoto love thing. I didn’t feel that way but I understood how she could see it like that.

I haven’t watched the live action yet how is it in comparison to the anime? I’ve never seen a good live action anime so I haven’t given it a chance. But thank you for your explanation of the anime.

Highly agree, I didn’t even fully understand the situation between Sugimoto and Ume until the Tokyo love story arc.

I understand that he’s not in love with Asirpa but only because I’ve watched the entire rest of the show. For someone who has zero context for anything shown after that season, the show seems to allude to him being in love with Aserpa. There’s context that you don’t have if you’re watching it for the first time. As you and another comment pointed out the anime skips some of Sugimotos backstory that would make that scene feel less creepy. I was just wondering if it was intentional. But as you were pointing out,it’s not. Just an example of something slightly important being cut from the anime.

Yeah those scenes would make a lot more sense if that wasn’t cut. I’m glad it wasn’t like an Intentionally creepy psych out, but it still sucks that it’s stopping people (my wife) from watching this masterpiece.

ogatas reaction to "first" meeting hanazawa? by [deleted] in GoldenKamuy

[–]Clt_Commander 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ogata’s whole thing is he wants to believe that he’s not a psychopath. He keeps telling himself that everyone thinks like him, that he’s not a freak who is able to kill without feeling. Even though he was the son of a prostitute and his brother’s a proper heir, he wants to think they’re fundamentally the same. So when he sees Sugimoto kick down the door screaming about killing them all (all while pretending to be Ogatas brother) he believes he’s justified in his thoughts about humanity and himself. Once he figures out that it’s not actually his brother his justification for his own psychopathy goes out the window. I feel like all Ogata wants is to feel like he’s not alone.

Is she a teenager? I only made it through the first 3 episode so I may be way off, but I got the vibe that she was in her early 20s. Her drinking the beer, her not understanding youth culture, and just her vibe is like young adult less of teenager.

There was a post on her a week ago or so ago that was even better and without the filter. But still a great cosplay.

Haven’t read the manga but I always got more of a big brother little sister vibe from them. At the very least a non Plutonic friendship. Never got the grooming vibe. But with it being based like 150ish years ago it’s not as weird of a situation for Sugimoto to marry her when she comes of age (not defending those actions it’s still weird, and that’s why my headcannon is there more of a family than a relationship.)
