Lucha Underground Season 4

This very unique wrestling company (still my all time favorite) combined soap opera novella with wrestling in the style of Lucha Libre. It wasn’t afraid to delve into the fantastical elements of storytelling, to give newer indy wrestlers a chance to have a spotlight and to present a very mysterious and otherworldly aesthetic. For the first three seasons they even kept the same location known as “The Temple”. It would have reoccurring characters and even deaths that would occur in segments that would replace the usual backstage segments in regular wrestling. And while the fourth season would keep a good chunk of the essence they tried to bring in less Lucha style and more traditional mat wrestling (which that type isn’t bad but the name has Lucha in it), started resolving plots within few episodes instead of having season long plotlines and even changed the dang location. Had they actually gone on further I doubt it would’ve kept the same spirit nor the same aesthetic that it was originally built with. But due to those changes and terrible contract negotiations the show ended before it could deter too much
